Running For Class President Essay
It was a same old boring Monday. When I heard my phone ring so I picked it up. It was my friend
Jonathan when he told me I should run for class president. Then that is when I told him "I wasn't
ready for that challenge it was a big responsibility". At the time i thought to myself "I could make a
good president but what if I got nervous and forgot my speech".
The next day I went to the the school office when I told them I would like to run for president that
was then when I told her "where can I sign up", when she pointed to a big line starting from the
office and ending at the cafeteria. It was a five minute walk all the way to the cafeteria ,but I finally
reached the line. By the time I got there the bell rang ding ding ding ding!!! As everyone started
heading towards their classroom.I finally signed up and when i got on stage i started practicing my
speech. In fact i even got to add in more facts why i should be president.
By the time i was finished Jonathan came barging through the stage and telling me "good luck" as
he sat down then Dikari came barging through and tells me the same thing. All of a sudden the
Principal Mr. Nava tells Dikari if he could be in charge of the microphone and make sure everything
was working so Dikari ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would like to get a starbucks store at our school because in our classrooms there are kids that sleep
during our class room time well not for any longer will we have to face that problem if there is a
starbucks the kids wouldn't be sleepy. The teachers will teach happily without any interruptions.
Also if we get starbucks teachers wouldn't have to go all the way to the store just to get a coffee.
How do i know this? I know because every afternoon i see teachers with coffees at our school. Well
with this teachers won't have to waste money for gas any longer if we have starbucks heer at
Planada Elementary school. As i also tell them that it will include low caffeine 2% of it

Pros And Cons Of Being A Class President
It is a called a 5 minute break but I call them 5 minutes of hell. No one listens to anyone. The whole
class goes crazy. If a fight starts the class president has to try and stop it at least and find order in the
class. Also class president takes care of handing out paper and collecting things like homework and
test papers. They take care of any events that go on in our class. Be it if the class wants a potluck or
a field trip. They organize the potluck and keep track of who brings what. They also are the one to
bring up the idea of a field trip and if the teacher disagrees they try to persuade the teacher so the
rest of the people don't hate them. Basically it's hell to be a class president. Only people (the really
smart people) volunteer

Class President Of High School
Is high school really the best time of one's life? Thinking back to my four years spent in high school,
I can boldly say that I made the best out of it. High school is an emotional roller coaster with
endless twists and turns and all molds together to form, what we call, the best years of our lives.
High school is also a very impressionable stage of life that can dramatically affect the future. This is
where we learn, mature, and become self–reliable to prepare us for what the future has instore. High
school is not just about those things; it is also about creating memories and friendships that will be
remembered forever. Pretending like fitting in throughout high school is not a thing, is a huge
misjudgment. Social statuses among classmates and peers are a priority in the eyes many people.
Since I was very sociable and outgoing in high school, I had many friends: the band nerds, the
jocks, the preps, and even the outcasts. Being friends with people from all walks of life put a whole
new perspective on how I view friendship. Nevertheless, this showed me who my true friends ...

Who will be the class president? Who will be trying out for the football team? All these topics are
brought up and advertised for one reason, and that is to get involved. Being involved in extra–
curricular activities is one of the best ways to make high school as memorable as possible. During
my time in high school, I had many peers and teachers tell me I should have run for class president,
and I regret the fact that I did not on many occasions. Aside from not being in student government, I
was very active in my high school. I participated in every school event, and was the head of the
spirit squad and Spanish club for multiple years. Making myself a part of many different clubs and
participating in every event I left high school with memories to last a life

Essay on The Pros and Cons of Small Class Size
Research Paper: The Different Advantages and Disadvantages of Small Class Size
Identifying Issues Regarding Class Size
There has been a lot of controversy lately about how a decrease in the number of kids in the
classrooms and could change how well a child performs in his/her schoolwork. Many researchers
believe that a small class size will have a positive effect on class achievement, but other researchers
have found that reducing class size has no advantage at all. For example, Ivor Pritchard from the
National Institute on Student Achievement, Curriculum and Assessment says "reducing class size
will increase costs without producing substantial benefits"(1999). From this example, it can be seen
that there have been many sources ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Tennessee's Student–Teacher Achievement Ratio (STAR) project of 1997, small class size meant
having thirteen to seventeen students in a class (National Education Association). At a national
level, the "U.S. Department of Education's new Class Size Reduction Program [wanted] to reduce
class size in grades one through three to a national average of 18 students." (Hopkins, 1999).
William Harms defines a regular–sized class as a class of twenty–two to twenty–six students(2001).
Based on these definitions, a large class can be assumed to be a class with more than twenty–six
students.
Advantages of Small Class Sizes
Researchers have found that there are many different advantages to having a small class. Some
researchers and teachers will even say that "smaller classes are a key ingredient in student success"
(Weingarten, 2003).
Research projects such as Tennessee's STAR have found that a reduction in class size will produce a
variety of benefits for teachers and students. Small classes impact not only students' academic
achievements, but they also benefit students' social skills and relationships with their teachers.
One example of an advantage for a small class is that struggling students can receive more
individual help from the classroom teacher. Because there will be less students in a class with one
teacher, the teacher is better able to direct her attention and help to specific students. For example, a

Reflection On Millard High School Senior Class President
Throughout high school I was involved in many different clubs. When senior year came around I
was elected to represent Millard High School as their senior class president. The student body
president and I got together and decided that we needed to end our high school career with a bang,
so we came up with the idea to light up the hillside "M" in order for Millard to show their spirit
throughout the valley not only during the day but also at night! We decided that the students could
light it up every homecoming and keep it lit through the school year. I like to think of this as my
own little piece of history making. This was our goal and we were willing to work as hard as we
could to make it happen. This project was in no way easy; the lights

Personal Statement: Junior Class President
I am currently Junior Class President and I would like to transition into Senator of Academics.
Accepting the position of leadership this year was a true pleasure. I have learned and evolved as a
leader this year because of the projects the junior class has to plan. Planning prom and Mr. Palm
Desert has not been easy, but we are currently moving along. With some bumps in a road, we are on
track to make this prom one of the most profitable and fun prom yet. Working with my fellow class
officers has been fun because we bank on each other's strengths and weaknesses. For example, I am
not an artist and I don't can not visually imagine something, so the other three class officers take

History of Panera Bread
PANERA BREAD
HISTORY
Panera Bread started in 1981 as Au Bon Pain Co., Inc. Founded by Louis Kane and Ron Shaich; the
company prospered along the east coast of the United States and internationally throughout the
1980s and 1990s and became the dominant operator within the bakery–cafe category. In 1993, Au
Bon Pain Co., Inc. purchased Saint Louis Bread Company, a chain of 20 bakery–cafes located in the
St. Louis area.
The company then managed a comprehensive re–staging of Saint Louis Bread Co. Between 1993
and 1997 average unit volumes increased by 75%. Ultimately the concept's name was changed to
Panera Bread. By 1997, it was clear that Panera Bread had the potential to become one of the
leading brands in the nation. In order for Panera Bread to reach its potential, it would require all of
the company's financial and management resources. In May 1999, all of Au Bon Pain Co., Inc.'s
business units were sold, with the exception of Panera Bread, and the company was renamed Panera
Bread. Since those transactions were completed, the company's stock has grown thirteen–fold and
over $1 billion in shareholder value has been created. Panera Bread was recognized as one of
Business Week's 100 Hot Growth Companies. As reported by The Wall Street Journal's Shareholder
Scorecard in 2006, Panera Bread was named as the top performer in the restaurant category for
one–, five– and ten–year returns to shareholders.

How To Write A Thank You Speech For A Class President
First off I would like to thank the student body, principal, faculty, and fellow candidates for being

qualifications that make me a suitable leader for the freshman class. I am Bo Dehm Wicklund and I
would like to be your class president for the 2015 to 2016 term.
Let me first start by giving you some background information about myself. I am a freshman here at
Berlin High School just as the rest of you are and I regularly participate in many clubs, activities,
and sports. From the beginning I wanted to become an involved student so here I am today in
pursuit of achieving this goal. Regardless of my participation in other organizations I will continue

improved ideas for events and other gatherings. We together will work with administration to
accomplish the best year that berlin High School has ever seen. Now, this brings me to my next
point, teamwork. A word that you hear all the time from coaches, teachers, and maybe even your
parents. However, I plan to bring a new meaning to the word teamwork. Teamwork should be
something that happens on its own, we should automatically want to work together to solve
problems. If elected I would like to ask all of you–– yes you the freshman class of Berlin High

The Controversialism Is The Presidential System Of Government
Thesis Statement
Presidentialism is a system of government in which the president is elected both chief executives
and as head of government (Ogelsby & Suárez, 1968) and is the main system of democratic
government apart from parliamentary systems. Presidential systems tend to centralise priorities of
the government to stabilise society. Normally, they are classed into separate regions of power; where
the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government are dependent on one another and
cannot work effectively in deeply divided societies. This argument is ruled by the fact that they are
1) divisive, causing isolation between different political, cultural and religious groups. Elites are
prioritised over minority working class groups and 2) inherently majoritarian, as only a single
position is given, causing proportionality to become impossible. In places such as Latin America
and Northern Ireland, we see the ways in which these theories have proven ineffectiveness.
However, presidential systems aim to separate powers in order to protect citizens' rights and deter
abuse of power for good governance overall. Moreover, presidential systems, however, have quick
decisiveness in resolving societal issues. Without effective separation; executive, legislative and
judicial powers, would be at risk. Lastly, in divided societies; some have been forced to adopt
presidential systems, but have unsuccessfully done so, due to not achieving independent judiciaries
and separation of

I Am Running For Class President

you going to running for it too?" Scarlett Said it in a sudden. "En? No, no, no, no, of course I am not
going to be in it. Don't worry." Calista panicked and smile. Should I tell her that I am running for it
too, and should I compete with her? Calista thought deeply. It was not an easy decision to make for
Calista. Beside, Scarlett told her she had very big confidence to make it. Calista has been thinking
this all day: how can she compete with her best friend for class president? As her walk out the
library door, she holds a cup of coffee and staring at her phone. How can she go to tell her best
friend, Scarlett, that she is in the competition too. As she walking in the hallway, Scarlett is walking

I one time jumped off a building just to show how much I deeply loved a girl. I have to admit when
I was nine, I was such a sucker for love. I have forever known that I am drawn to the opposite
gender. I love being around them, but then again, I always have been too nervous to show my

Amanda was somewhat the girl any boy would fall in love with the minute he set his eyes on her.
Like a princess, she had long, smooth hair, huge dazzling eyes, and a gorgeous grin. The first time I

Antonio and I never had a problem both liking the same young lady. We every so often goofed

Antonio was the best–looking guy in the class, that didn't stop me from trying. I knew I had to
discover a way to tell Amanda how I felt around her yet if she already sensed it.
One day while playing on the top of our classroom as we regularly did. Amanda said that a boy who
was fearless enough to jump off this building we were on, she would be his girlfriend. I quickly
jumped off the building before Amanda completed her sentence. Everyone just screamed. In panic
Amanda shouted "oh my god!" and began to cry. When I eventually stood up from the painful fall, I
looked up to see not even one single person. Apparently, the entire class assumed I was a freak, as
well as Amanda. I ended up limping five months for that foolish attempt to win Amanda's heart.
My relationship with Amanda was never the same after that issue. Amanda would just talk to me

Through out the course of history, America has seen great Presidents. These men all exhibited
characteristics which helped them to be successful in their endeavor to become the nations leader.
Among those characteristics are traits such as being a good spokesperson or leader and being fair
towards all which makes for a good President.
As President, one must make numerous speeches. Someone who has a phobia of making speeches in
front of a large group of people, may find this job difficult. Remaining composed and in control of

John F. Kennedy may me most memorable for with eloquent speeches. He was a good
spokesperson, proving himself right off the bat with his inaugural address in 1961. These speeches
instilled support and confidence in the hearts of those who listened. One can see how these feelings
might come about in this quote by the President in 1963. "What kind of peace do we seek?
Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not a peace of the grave
or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on
earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope to build a better life
for their children–not merely peace for Americans, but peace for all men and women: not merely
peace in our time, but peace for all time."
President Kennedy was a natural leader. This was noted by Admiral W.F. Halsey. Saying, "His
courage, endurance, and excellent leadership contributed to the saving of several lives and was in
keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service." Referring to an
incident that earned him a purple heart, in which the future President swam four miles while towing
an injured crewman, the Admiral said this in his part.
More proof of the Presidents leadership skills can be noted in his Aeronautical motives. As

It turned out I didn't have it easy, though. Tiffani had a great campaign going and a lot of people

because of all the posters. Walking down the hallway wasn't only fun,but scary at the same time.
Tiffani's posters were awesome, which made more people back her up. They also made me jealous
because my posters weren't as creative. My posters stuck with my "Bee" theme though, which was
one trait Tiffani's posters didn't have.
Tiffani and I talked to each other about running against each other. She assured me that nothing

Giving back to the community is a passion of mine. The most rewarding experiences in my life have
been doing what I can, to help others. As an Education major, helping children in the community is
important to me, and reflected in my volunteer work. I have volunteered in several classrooms over
the past two years in partnership with Junior Achievement. Volunteering with Junior Achievement
allowed me to teach second grade students about the community they live in, the differences they
can make in the community, and empowering students to become successful citizens who make a
positive impact in the community. I have also volunteered with SA Reads, tutoring four students in
reading in high–poverty schools in San Antonio. When tutoring, I use Science–Based Reading
Instruction to improve literacy components. Tutoring students with SA Reads allows me to directly
impact the lives of children in the community by tutoring them in reading each week, improving
their reading skills, and helping students who would otherwise fall behind, succeed. Other ways in
which I have impacted the community in a positive way is by regularly donating platelets at the

The business has a two person work crew, one employee and himself.
President's Lawn Care Services mission is to provide excellent lawn care that will exceed the
expectations of its customers. The professional and reliable clean air services will be the key to
attracting and maintaining customers. Because it is seasonal, most of President's revenue will be
earned during the months of April through November. During off season, revenue earnings will
come from fall leaf removal and over–seeding.
President's Lawn Care will target the middle class, middle–aged and elderly homeowners with no
children. This group of customers is more likely to rely on a lawn care service to maintain their
lawn. Also, there are no children in the household to help with their lawn care. The average income
is $45–$60K, with enough disposable income to pay for lawn care. By year two, the owner will
purchase more equipment and hire an additional employee.
 The single most important objective for President's Lawn Care Service will be to position the
business as the premier lawn care service in the area for middle aged, residential families. After
conducting a situation analysis, President's Lawn Care Service identified some key opportunities
that will influence the growth and success of the company. The company will seek to establish brand
equity by performing professional clean–air services at a very low cost. This would attract new

I'm Not a Leader
"What's the best thing going on at school today, Eli?" My mom asked as she poured her coffee. My
mom always asks happy questions like that in the morning. I think she learned it in Mom school or
something.
When I was little, I made up all sorts of stories to tell my mom. I'd pretend Lindsey rode a giraffe to
school, or Sebastian taught us how to eat worms. Then my mom and I would snuggle and giggle.
But now that I'm in the 3rd grade, I'm too old for that stuff. Still, it's best to tell her something and
send her off to work happy.
"Miss Jennings is announcing who's in the running for class President today. It's really not a big
deal" I shared.
"Oh? That is exciting!" She pulled up a chair and looked at me with her big "tell me all about it"
eyes. I should have just told her we were having pizza for lunch.
"Do you think they'll choose you?" I could see she was already thinking about calling Grandma with
the news.
"No way," I said. "Mom, I'm not a leader. The class could pick anyone. Why would they pick me?"
Mom looked at me like she didn't believe me but all she said was, "We'll see."
At school, written on the board in purple chalk were the scariest words I've ever seen:
Congratulations Eli, Mason, Megan, Ben and Janelle! You have been nominated for Class President!
Most of the kids cheered as they walked into the classroom. Mason just stared at me. I felt sick.
"Okay boys and girls", Miss Jennings called over the noise, "Let's settle down."

Graduation Speech : Alpha 's Vision And Values Essay
These statements will align with the aspects of membership criteria defined at the previous
workshop during the spring semester. We hope this will be a way to refocus the chapter on what we
value in members. We will also add a conversation workshop to Work Week and members will learn
how to ask questions, steer conversations and represent Kappa in a way that allows members to
recruit women who will understand Beta Xi Chapter's vision and values. Recruitment Goals:
Chapter meetings: o "Guess that Active" game o Recruitment Workshop Recruitment Focus Group
with the Panhellenic Specialist During Recruitment: o Daily reflective statements o Conversation
workshop New Member Experience and Programming We, as a chapter, are excited to redesign our
new member experience to ensure that each installment of new member programming works in
conjunction with the chapter mission statement. Our first task is to restructure Bid Day, which has
evolved into a party for active members to celebrate the end of Recruitment. As evident by the
events of this past Bid Day, we are afraid that the focus of this night has lost its emphasis on
sisterhood. Our goal for next year is to realign focus to the new member class and their pledgeship.
To facilitate this, the New Member Chairman will reconstruct Bid Day to include a fun and safe
activity to remove new members from the unsafe social pressures that accompany fraternity parties.

to address these problems? Teacher Shortage There are many contributing factors to low teacher
turnover, however, the main issue is a lack of support and respect for our teachers. Instead of
working on maintaining and providing support for our current educators, the conversation usually
surrounds expensive and often ineffective recruitment programs. The harsh fact is that it is very
expensive to live in our valley and the current teacher salary/benefits are not enough to attract top
talent. We need to have a serious conversation with our teachers in order to learn what incentives
they need to be successful in their roles as well as to maintain a comfortable living. Teachers are the

The Importance Of My Senior Year Of High School
When thinking about my senior year of high school I start to think about a tradition that happened
every year with the senior class. It seems wired but the senior class always seemed to be up to
something every week. I remember thinking my Jr year the my senior class was gonna change how
people viewed us. I was so right.
You see every year before are home football game against Creighton Prep. Our schools for years
would be fighting back and forth. It got to the point where every year the week of the big game the
boys at Prep would walk into Westside and either are pools or our courage rock would be covered in
blue paint. I remember my senior year was the year that everything changed. We where tired of prep
always picking on us and Westside students where not allowed to retaliate. If we where caught
doing so we wouldn't be able to walk to the stage come graduation day.
Picture this. It was Thursday night around 8:30pm the setting was a high school football field. All
the lights where one and there where about 500 students on the field. The student had tents put up.
Some people just brought sleeping bags. You can see the football players throwing a football back a
forth. There where about 25 teacher that where there also just walking around and hanging out with
the students. There was the wrestling team and baseball boy protecting the entrances along with
some of the male teachers. It was a sight to see just knowing that us students where not going to do
anything. Only

The Importance Of Being A Class President
Good afternoon class ladies and gentlemen, thank you for allowing me to have the privilege of
speaking in front of you today. About this time I'm supposed to get up here and tell you a little short
story about myself, and start off like ever since I can remember, I have always wanted..... But
instead I'm be different and start it off a little something like this. I have not always wanted to be
your class presentant, but what I have always wanted to do is say something that we all do not have
the guts to say. The reason I believe I am the right candidate for this class president because I too
don't believe that teachers and other staffs doesn't care about what we have to say or what we
believe would be right for us, see if when we are going over the syllabus and we all are asking
questions we get the response that we didn't want or hope for, If you vote for me I will have the
desire to help make a change, I will help with extracurricular activities, money, and fights will be
the issues I plan on mainly addressing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay On Class President
Marjorie for '05 Class President: Marjorie was never boisterous. In fact, she was never much of
anything. She was never popular (as all around her abhorred her presence). She too quiet, choosing
to sit on the sidelines of any and all social situations. She was never funny, suffering from a dark
and cynical nature. She was ugly as sin. She chose to dress like our granny Sue, and everything
down to her very hair style was an anachronism. She chose to hold on to her matte black pager, even
though the only ones that used that stupid piece of outdated tech were doctors and drug dealers. For
exactly these reasons, I decided to get her elected class president. Now, Marge is my cousin, and
strange as she may be, that has to count for something. She is a junior, and I am in the grade below
her. About a month ago, she and the rest of her grade were swept up in the throes of prom–posals.
After a week of shy boys asking blushing girls to join them out on the coveted day, Marge and her
unlucky cohorts (a group of thick–frame glasses wearing nerds) were left without any attention.

went after Julie Rosamond, informing her that curly hair looked like someone had ripped apart

roasted Jerry Bogart, who looked like an sketch in a book of Shrek concept art. She burned Drew
Barrymore, whose nose looked like a banana had become surgically attached to his face. She
destroyed skinny Frank Costanza, who, while wearing the color yellow, looked like a regulation no.

Happy County Community College
Happy County Community College was established in 1968. According to The American
Community College book (2014), Cohen, Brawer, and Kisker proposed that community colleges
were established to train individuals to operate the nation's expanding industries. However, most
community colleges have evolved with the time and new demands from industries (Cohen, Brawer,

were dilapidated, equipment was old, and programs were ineffective (Staat, n.d.). Additionally,
Happy County was a thriving and prosperous county, people worked in textile mills. There were ten
textile mills in the surrounding areas of Happy County. The textile mill owners built baseball
diamonds, a football field, golf courses, and a civic center. Individuals who worked for the textiles
mills were considered middle class families and parents encouraged their children to become
employed at the textile mills once they graduated from high school.

A Community College Case Study Happy County once was a thriving county, because of their many
textile mills. However, in 2009, Happy County became economically destitute. For instance, all but
one mill closed down and many people lost their jobs. Some employees took bonuses packages, but
the job was gone (Staat, n.d.). Prior to the mills closing down, parents often time wanted their

Personal Narrative: A Career As A Junior Class President
My entire life I have loved to plan and execute events, being the Junior Class President and the

As the Junior Class President, I had to stay organized and aware of what the entire class wanted not

this taught me how to be detail oriented by making sure the little things came out right, because

Becoming A Class President
Ever since the First Grade at Big Country Elementary, I had a love for leadership. I loved the joy
that came with being the representative for my friends and using my mouth to say the words
everyone was thinking and wanting. Once they announced we were going to have Class Officers,
my little seven year old heart filled with rainbows, and I worked extremely hard on my speech. I
won the election because I kept a realistic promise to my class: Rice Krispy Treats for everyone if
they voted for me. The following day there were thousands of the blue foil wrappings all over the
floor, but my class was overfilled with joy because of how I kept my promise and didn't let them

Running for Class President Speech

  • 1. Running For Class President Essay It was a same old boring Monday. When I heard my phone ring so I picked it up. It was my friend Jonathan when he told me I should run for class president. Then that is when I told him "I wasn't ready for that challenge it was a big responsibility". At the time i thought to myself "I could make a good president but what if I got nervous and forgot my speech". The next day I went to the the school office when I told them I would like to run for president that was then when I told her "where can I sign up", when she pointed to a big line starting from the office and ending at the cafeteria. It was a five minute walk all the way to the cafeteria ,but I finally reached the line. By the time I got there the bell rang ding ding ding ding!!! As everyone started heading towards their classroom.I finally signed up and when i got on stage i started practicing my speech. In fact i even got to add in more facts why i should be president. By the time i was finished Jonathan came barging through the stage and telling me "good luck" as he sat down then Dikari came barging through and tells me the same thing. All of a sudden the Principal Mr. Nava tells Dikari if he could be in charge of the microphone and make sure everything was working so Dikari ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 2. Pros And Cons Of Being A Class President It is a called a 5 minute break but I call them 5 minutes of hell. No one listens to anyone. The whole class goes crazy. If a fight starts the class president has to try and stop it at least and find order in the class. Also class president takes care of handing out paper and collecting things like homework and test papers. They take care of any events that go on in our class. Be it if the class wants a potluck or a field trip. They organize the potluck and keep track of who brings what. They also are the one to bring up the idea of a field trip and if the teacher disagrees they try to persuade the teacher so the rest of the people don't hate them. Basically it's hell to be a class president. Only people (the really smart people) volunteer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Class President Of High School Is high school really the best time of one's life? Thinking back to my four years spent in high school, I can boldly say that I made the best out of it. High school is an emotional roller coaster with endless twists and turns and all molds together to form, what we call, the best years of our lives. High school is also a very impressionable stage of life that can dramatically affect the future. This is where we learn, mature, and become self–reliable to prepare us for what the future has instore. High school is not just about those things; it is also about creating memories and friendships that will be remembered forever. Pretending like fitting in throughout high school is not a thing, is a huge misjudgment. Social statuses among classmates and peers are a priority in the eyes many people. Since I was very sociable and outgoing in high school, I had many friends: the band nerds, the jocks, the preps, and even the outcasts. Being friends with people from all walks of life put a whole new perspective on how I view friendship. Nevertheless, this showed me who my true friends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Who will be the class president? Who will be trying out for the football team? All these topics are brought up and advertised for one reason, and that is to get involved. Being involved in extra– curricular activities is one of the best ways to make high school as memorable as possible. During my time in high school, I had many peers and teachers tell me I should have run for class president, and I regret the fact that I did not on many occasions. Aside from not being in student government, I was very active in my high school. I participated in every school event, and was the head of the spirit squad and Spanish club for multiple years. Making myself a part of many different clubs and participating in every event I left high school with memories to last a life ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay on The Pros and Cons of Small Class Size Research Paper: The Different Advantages and Disadvantages of Small Class Size Identifying Issues Regarding Class Size There has been a lot of controversy lately about how a decrease in the number of kids in the classrooms and could change how well a child performs in his/her schoolwork. Many researchers believe that a small class size will have a positive effect on class achievement, but other researchers have found that reducing class size has no advantage at all. For example, Ivor Pritchard from the National Institute on Student Achievement, Curriculum and Assessment says "reducing class size will increase costs without producing substantial benefits"(1999). From this example, it can be seen that there have been many sources ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Tennessee's Student–Teacher Achievement Ratio (STAR) project of 1997, small class size meant having thirteen to seventeen students in a class (National Education Association). At a national level, the "U.S. Department of Education's new Class Size Reduction Program [wanted] to reduce class size in grades one through three to a national average of 18 students." (Hopkins, 1999). William Harms defines a regular–sized class as a class of twenty–two to twenty–six students(2001). Based on these definitions, a large class can be assumed to be a class with more than twenty–six students. Advantages of Small Class Sizes Researchers have found that there are many different advantages to having a small class. Some researchers and teachers will even say that "smaller classes are a key ingredient in student success" (Weingarten, 2003). Research projects such as Tennessee's STAR have found that a reduction in class size will produce a variety of benefits for teachers and students. Small classes impact not only students' academic achievements, but they also benefit students' social skills and relationships with their teachers. One example of an advantage for a small class is that struggling students can receive more individual help from the classroom teacher. Because there will be less students in a class with one teacher, the teacher is better able to direct her attention and help to specific students. For example, a first grade ... • 7. Reflection On Millard High School Senior Class President Throughout high school I was involved in many different clubs. When senior year came around I was elected to represent Millard High School as their senior class president. The student body president and I got together and decided that we needed to end our high school career with a bang, so we came up with the idea to light up the hillside "M" in order for Millard to show their spirit throughout the valley not only during the day but also at night! We decided that the students could light it up every homecoming and keep it lit through the school year. I like to think of this as my own little piece of history making. • 9. History of Panera Bread PANERA BREAD HISTORY Panera Bread started in 1981 as Au Bon Pain Co., Inc. Founded by Louis Kane and Ron Shaich; the company prospered along the east coast of the United States and internationally throughout the 1980s and 1990s and became the dominant operator within the bakery–cafe category. In 1993, Au Bon Pain Co., Inc. purchased Saint Louis Bread Company, a chain of 20 bakery–cafes located in the St. Louis area. The company then managed a comprehensive re–staging of Saint Louis Bread Co. Between 1993 and 1997 average unit volumes increased by 75%. Ultimately the concept's name was changed to Panera Bread. By 1997, it was clear that Panera Bread had the potential to become one of the leading brands in the nation. In order for Panera Bread to reach its potential, it would require all of the company's financial and management resources. In May 1999, all of Au Bon Pain Co., Inc.'s business units were sold, with the exception of Panera Bread, and the company was renamed Panera Bread. Since those transactions were completed, the company's stock has grown thirteen–fold and over $1 billion in shareholder value has been created. Panera Bread was recognized as one of Business Week's 100 Hot Growth Companies. • 14. The Controversialism Is The Presidential System Of Government Thesis Statement Presidentialism is a system of government in which the president is elected both chief executives and as head of government (Ogelsby & Suárez, 1968) and is the main system of democratic government apart from parliamentary systems. Presidential systems tend to centralise priorities of the government to stabilise society. Normally, they are classed into separate regions of power; where the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government are dependent on one another and cannot work effectively in deeply divided societies. This argument is ruled by the fact that they are 1) divisive, causing isolation between different political, cultural and religious groups. Elites are prioritised over minority working class groups and 2) inherently majoritarian, as only a single position is given, causing proportionality to become impossible. In places such as Latin America and Northern Ireland, we see the ways in which these theories have proven ineffectiveness. However, presidential systems aim to separate powers in order to protect citizens' rights and deter abuse of power for good governance overall. Moreover, presidential systems, however, have quick decisiveness in resolving societal issues. Without effective separation; executive, legislative and judicial powers, would be at risk. Lastly, in divided societies; some have been forced to adopt presidential systems, but have unsuccessfully done so, due to not achieving independent judiciaries and separation of ... I have forever known that I am drawn to the opposite gender. I love being around them, but then again, I always have been too nervous to show my feelings toward them. Amanda was somewhat the girl any boy would fall in love with the minute he set his eyes on her. Like a princess, she had long, smooth hair, huge dazzling eyes, and a gorgeous grin. One day while playing on the top of our classroom as we regularly did. Amanda said that a boy who was fearless enough to jump off this building we were on, she would be his girlfriend. I quickly jumped off the building before Amanda completed her sentence. Everyone just screamed. In panic Amanda shouted "oh my god!" and began to cry. When I eventually stood up from the painful fall, I looked up to see not even one single person. Apparently, the entire class assumed I was a freak, as well as Amanda. I ended up limping five months for that foolish attempt to win Amanda's heart. My relationship with Amanda was never the same after that issue. They told me to be senior president. I thought they were crazy, but I thought I was mad for even considering it. I'm not the type of person to be in charge. I'm usually a reserved person and I tend to let others walk all over me. However, I didn't want to leave high school as that type of person. As terrifying as it was for me, I picked up the courage to do something I wasn't comfortable with. With the help of what my teacher once told me, "You'll never move forward if you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... John F. Kennedy may me most memorable for with eloquent speeches. He was a good spokesperson, proving himself right off the bat with his inaugural address in 1961. These speeches instilled support and confidence in the hearts of those who listened. One can see how these feelings might come about in this quote by the President in 1963. "What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not a peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope to build a better life for their children–not merely peace for Americans, but peace for all men and women: not merely peace in our time, but peace for all time." President Kennedy was a natural leader. This was noted by Admiral W.F. Halsey. Saying, "His courage, endurance, and excellent leadership contributed to the saving of several lives and was in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service." Referring to an incident that earned him a purple heart, in which the future President swam four miles while towing an injured crewman, the Admiral said this in his part. • 19. Essay on Junior Class President at County High A scream echoed through the empty hallways of County High school as we heard the news. "How did that happen?" I thought to myself. This had to have been planned out previously by someone. This event was the Student Government elections held last year, my sophomore year. I had big plans. I wanted to be the Junior Class president. Being Junior Class president is a big responsibility due to prom, concessions and other fund raisers, but I wanted the position anyway. I knew I could handle it. Tiffani had a great campaign going and a lot of people were supporting her. It was fun walking down the freshman/sophomore hallway during campaign week because our class had posters plastered all over our wall. There wasn't a lot of wall left to see because of all the posters. Walking down the hallway wasn't only fun,but scary at the same time. Tiffani's posters were awesome, which made more people back her up. They also made me jealous because my posters weren't as creative. My posters stuck with my "Bee" theme though, which was one trait Tiffani's posters didn't have. Tiffani and I talked to each other about running against each other. She assured me that nothing would change if I won, and I told her the same. I knew that if she won, I would be fine with that. I had already overloaded myself with activities and if I didn't have Student Government to worry about I would be much better off. Even though she assured me, I still feared that if I won, Tiffani would be very jealous and resentful towards me. It would also be hard to talk about Student Government activities with Tiffani if I made it and she didn't. All these fears and conceited ideas I had, I prayed about. I told God everything. • 20. Reflection Essay Giving back to the community is a passion of mine. The most rewarding experiences in my life have been doing what I can, to help others. As an Education major, helping children in the community is important to me, and reflected in my volunteer work. I have volunteered in several classrooms over the past two years in partnership with Junior Achievement. Volunteering with Junior Achievement allowed me to teach second grade students about the community they live in, the differences they can make in the community, and empowering students to become successful citizens who make a positive impact in the community. I have also volunteered with SA Reads, tutoring four students in reading in high–poverty schools in San Antonio. When tutoring, I use Science–Based Reading Instruction to improve literacy components. Tutoring students with SA Reads allows me to directly impact the lives of children in the community by tutoring them in reading each week, improving their reading skills, and helping students who would otherwise fall behind, succeed. Other ways in which I have impacted the community in a positive way is by regularly donating platelets at the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center, donating books to children nominated for an angel tree, volunteering at SWISD Special Olympics, Volunteering with Voices for Children, Picking up litter in a neighborhood, volunteering at the Celtic games and music festival cultural event at the kids' corner, raising awareness of human trafficking ... • 21. Class President Research Paper Since I could remember I've always been that shy kid in class, the one who sat in the back and did anything to avoid speaking in front of everyone. At first my shyness did not affect me greatly because it was something that I knew I would eventually grow out of, but as my freshman year of high school rolled in things only got worse. I experienced my first bump in my road in which my confidence as well as my motivation to succeed began to go downhill and although it did not affect me academically, it affected my self esteem and my ability to connect with others. But towards the end of the year something clicked and I used my weaknesses as a way of motivating myself to succeed. Just when I thought that my chances of changing my old ways were gone, I did something that I would have never thought of doing. I found a new path which ultimately lead me to becoming president of my class. I trailed away from my shyness and lack of confidence and ignited a new passion for leadership and service. I enjoyed every minute of being class president and never asked for anything in return. Holding this position for the simple fact of looking good on my college applications was never my intention. I think she learned it in Mom school or something. When I was little, I made up all sorts of stories to tell my mom. I'd pretend Lindsey rode a giraffe to school, or Sebastian taught us how to eat worms. Then my mom and I would snuggle and giggle. But now that I'm in the 3rd grade, I'm too old for that stuff. Still, it's best to tell her something and send her off to work happy. "Miss Jennings is announcing who's in the running for class President today. It's really not a big deal" I shared. "Oh? That is exciting!" She pulled up a chair and looked at me with her big "tell me all about it" eyes. I should have just told her we were having pizza for lunch. "Do you think they'll choose you?" I could see she was already thinking about calling Grandma with the news. "No way," I said. "Mom, I'm not a leader. The class could pick anyone. Why would they pick me?" Mom looked at me like she didn't believe me but all she said was, "We'll see." At school, written on the board in purple chalk were the scariest words I've ever seen: Congratulations Eli, Mason, Megan, Ben and Janelle! You have been nominated for Class President!
