My Views On Christian Worldview
Whether clearly defined or not, everyone holds a worldview. Through life, travel, study, and contemplation, I have sought to clarify and substantiate
my worldview. When comparing my beliefs to various other worldviews, mine stands up as logical and rational. Most importantly, my Christian
worldview can be applied to contemporary problems and even explain many of the world's issues. Though the Christian worldview is one of the most
criticized, it provides substantive answers instead of more philosophical questions. After all, a worldview is only worthwhile if one can explain and
defend their beliefs. Christianity is the world's largest religion, and the religion, which defines my personal belief system. At the heart of Christianity is
Jesus Christ: my personal Savior, and it is His teachings and sacrifice, which is the foundation of "Christianity." To begin, it is necessary to outline my
beliefs as a Christian, since there are many conflicting Christian doctrines in contemporary society. My creed is the belief in the Trinity: God the
Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. As theBible teaches, God is three personalities within in One Spiritual Being. Furthermore, I believe
the God created the world as put forth in the Genesis account, and it was created in a perfect state and without sin. Near the end of His creation
process, God created man in His image, He set him apart, and gave him dominion of all other living creatures. Sin and death only entered into to the

The Christian View Of Fate In Beowulf
Creative Title Here Throughout history, time has been a contributing factor to the variations in the conversion of literary text. Over the duration of its
existence, the small details in writing can be lost in translation overtime, leading to a completely separate version. This is prevalent in Seamus
Heaney's and Burton Raffel's versions of Beowulf . Both passages revolve around the theme of fate, however, Heyley's view is centered around
christianity, while the interpretation of Raffel's is focused moreso on personal choices rather than fate alone. The Christian view of fate intails the idea
that choices are predestined. Due to this belief, society entrusted all decisions in God's hands, without vigilance. Evident in Beowulf's battle with

Christian World View
Everyone has a worldview. This may be something we do not think about on the regular, but we all have one. A worldview is our set of beliefs used
to understand the world. It shapes our thoughts on how we interpret reality, and forms our moral opinions. Our regular worldview is formed by almost
anything secular, jobs, money, family even education. Then there is a Christian's Worldview which would be our sacred doings.
The Christian or Biblical worldview is based on the word of God. When the word of God is the foundation of your everyday life. Believing that Jesus is
the Lord not only at our time of death but through every aspect of our lives. We believe that we are all created from God and follow the word and
fellowship beside him. So God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The humans that he created are physical humans who operate in a physical world and true physical events are also revealed in the bible. Throughout
the bible it is shown that God works in so many different, magical ways to bring salvation to mankind. The bible helps gives us insight on God and
what his purpose for humanity is. It is crucial for Christians to understand and be part of Gods plan and to know their place in it.
Some may ask does a Christian or Biblical worldview matter. There is probably many different answers to this depending on whom you ask. It is
important to remember that all worldviews affects our everyday living. There are many challenges for Christians and Non–biblical views are
everywhere throughout our lives and slap us in the face when we are not even aware of it, television, magazines, music, even school and our children.
Most of us will go through life without realizing how strong our worldviews have been tainted by these non–biblical views of the world. We are then
taken mentally on a journey that will have Christ on the back burner, brainwashed by all the secular worldviews. See to it that no one takes you captive
through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according
to Christ (Colossians 2:8). So, does the Christian worldview matter?

Christian Vs. Secular World View Of Abortion
A worldview is an opinion that someone holds of the society and culture around us. People can have a biblical world view of life around them,
which helps them to see with clarity that which is right or wrong with society's views. In contrast, people can have a secular world view, which
usually causes them to see whatever they view as acceptable as correct. (64 words) My worldview is that whatever is written in the Bible – which is
the word of God, given to us – should be taken as fact and applied to our daily lives. This means that I see premarital sex as a sin, and as something
that should not be done as it is damaging to your future marriage. I believe that abortion is an act of murder, and therefore not acceptable. I believe
that every

Christian View Of Evil
Ask a person from any culture around the planet and they will say that evil has always plagued humanity. However, when different people are asked
to identify the source of evil found in their culture, the answers will differ from one another, maybe even drastically. This is most likely due to the
varied experiences of their culture and faith traditions among other factors. Due to my lack of knowledge about other various perspectives of evil found
around the world, I strive to articulate solely from my own Christian perspective.
To begin, I will discuss what I believe evil to be. Conceptually speaking, there are two forms of evil, natural and moral. Natural evil consists of
phenomena which occur due to natural sources within creation. This form of evil includes weather disasters, cosmic barriers such as asteroids or
collapsing stars, planetary movements such as earthquakes and volcanoes, animal instincts such as viral outbreaks or bear attacks (i.e. anything that
drives self–preservation in the animal world), and so on. Conceptually, natural evils are not affected by human involvement. In other words, these
phenomena would occur regardless if humanity existed in creation or not. Once an otherwise naturally occurring phenomenon happens as a result of
human behavior, i.e. global warming, it no longer fits this form of evil, conceptually speaking. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This tradition is also problematic in a way similar to the source of natural evil. If God created humanity with free–will than God is to blame for
creating the potential for moral evil to occur. Some theologians attempt to remedy this by connecting moral evil with salvation. In other words, they
see moral evil as the means to a salvific end, i.e. there is no reason to save the morally perfect, only the morally evil. This persuasion does not settle
my discomfort with moral evil, especially when the experiences of others are

Christian Thought Vs. Christian View Essay
Christian theologians and leaders have considered the subject of animals in various ways. Mostly as things to be used by humans, no more, no less.
According to some theologians animals were to be treated with esteem, but no more respected than the inanimate objects. Animals were viewed as tools
and possessions, just like anything else you can buy.
However the traditional Christian view has not always been the same. When early theologians considered "nature" they determined that it was a natural
law of the universe that animals should be preyed on and consumed. This then was mirrored in their theology. Christian thinking downgraded animals
for three main reasons. First they reasons that God had created animals for the use of human beings and human beings were therefore authorized to use
them in any way they want. Secondly they believed Animals were inferior to human beings and were worth little if any moral contemplation, because
humans have souls while animals do not and humans have reason while animals do not. Christian thought was heavily human–o–centric and only
deliberated on animals in relation to human beings.
For most of its history Christianity viewed animals without much compassion. Even Thomas Aquinas was equally unconcerned with the welfare of
animals. Aquinas taught the following points: First that Animals were created to be used by human beings. That animals do not have the ability to
reason, and are therefore inferior to human beings. Finally that the

Essay about A Christian View of Suffering
The concept of suffering plays an important role in Christianity, regarding such matters as moral conduct, spiritual advancement and ultimate destiny.
Indeed an emphasis on suffering pervades the Gospel of Mark where, it can be argued, we are shown how to "journey through suffering" (Ditzel 2001)
in the image of the "Suffering Son of Man" (Mark 8:32), Jesus Christ. Although theologians have suggested that Mark was written to strengthen the
resolve of the early Christian community (Halpern 2002, Mayerfeld 2005), the underlying moral is not lost on a modern reader grappling with
multifarious challenges regarding faith in the face of suffering. In his article "A Christian Response to Suffering", William Marravee (1987) describes
suffering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When spiritual liberation is achieved, all concerns for physical and emotional suffering end (Catholic.org 2000).
There are many different perspectives on suffering with regard to its meaning, significance and purposes. Pope John Paul II (1984) wrote "On the
Christian Meaning of Human Suffering", that it centres on the notion of redemptive suffering – to remit one's sins in order to save the soul from
eternal suffering (damnation). Personally, I believe suffering can have a purpose. It can enrich life by giving us knowledge of both the good and the
bad, arguably making us more appreciative of what we have . Indeed, James Stewart (2005) purports, "If there were no suffering, would there be
compassion? If there were no discipline and hardship, would we ever learn patience and endurance? Construct a universe with no trouble in it and
immediately you banish some of the finest qualities in the world."
Our experiences of suffering may also help us in our moral conduct as an experience of suffering serves to make us sympathetic to the trials of
others. We learn to a) help the afflicted (through consolation and relief) and to B) not inflict harm on others, having experienced suffering ourselves.
Furthermore, many spiritual seekers in the past have felt that suffering and spiritual progress are inexorably linked, pointing to St Teresa of Avila and
St Francis of AssisiI as examples . I believe that if we can learn from our

The Christian World View
Many questions can be asked concerning the Christian world view. Some of those questions include who is God? What is the nature of the universe?
How does one distinguish right from wrong? How does one know what they know? These questions among others can be answered by reading what is
written in the bible. The words of the Bible are written by man but inspired by God, who provides the answers to sought questions.
According to Revelation 1:8 – God has declared "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and
which is to come, the Almighty." Specifically, God is holy, it is who he is he did not receive or achieve it. God is who sets the standard or what is

We know that the Bible is true, because the events that were revealed have come to pass. God reviled that a savior would be sent, born to a virgin,
who would grow up and be crucified for the sins of man. He also indicated that Jesus would rise again. This happened as it was said, which proves that
Gods word is true.
Knowing what is wrong and right, assist us in understand the purpose of life. Life's purpose for humanity in general and Christians in specific is to
worship God. Along with our worship of God, we are to maintain meaningful relationships with other people; including leading them to salvation,
work hard and to take care of the earth and what has been given to us. We are to do this so that we can one day join him in heaven and spend eternity
with him.
People ponder eternity and what happens after we die, but God has provided answers to what will happen. Different things happen to those who
are saved and those who are lost. For those who are saved they will immediately be in the presence of God. This is indicated by the words that are
spoken by Jesus on the cross; "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise" Luke 23:43. Conversely, those who die without having
accepted Christ as lord and savior are condemned to hell and will be there the moment of their death. This is indicated in
Revelation 20:11–15 which describes the Great White

Christians ' Views On Christianity
Christianity is one of the three largest religious in the world and Christians always believe that Juses is the Son of God. "In the beginning God
created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was
hovering over the waters." (Genesis 1–3) Christians always believe that the God created the people, and developed the whole people's life. Christians'
belief is that they need to believe the word of God and these worlds are the foundation of the Christians. Christian practices are divided by
denomination, however, the basic elements include private and corporate prayer, studying and reading of the Scriptures, a Sunday worship service and
participation in rites such as baptism and communion.
Christian worship services basically include singing, prayer and a sermon. A large number of churches have a special ceremony for ordination. Most
Christians practice pray at home and also read the Bible. Many Christian will have baptism, when they was an infant or grew up an adult. They need to
participate communion in regular time. The morality in Christian said that they need to focus on the relationship between the people and the God, and
Christians need to have love. Christianity also emphasizes the confession, repentance, forgiveness, humility and so on. Therefore, "God created
mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them." (Genesis 1–3) Teachings is

Introduction Robert F. Dees the author of Resilient Leaders focused the chapters three and four on the core quality character traits (integrity and
courage), and the highly sought quality of wisdom. Within this week studies the examination of how the above concepts affect organizations were of
main importance, as the discussion progressed there is evidence that a Christian world view was used to better explain these concepts. This
particular discussion post is designed to reflect the common consensus of group one regarding the three main concepts studied this week. Group
Consensus Integrity, courage and wisdom was the three main concepts chosen to be of focus by group one this week. These concepts were carefully
chosen with respect to leadership, an organization, and a Christian world view. A great leader embodies the above character traits (integrity and
courage), and in turn enables an organization to strive from their expertise. Coupled with a Christian world view, the display of character and
competence produces a wise leader. Biblical Integration There are many scriptures and stories in the Bible that illustrates lessons about the concepts of
integrity, courage and wisdom. Leaders that contain these qualities and apply a Christian world view will have no problem

Dialogue Paper
In my dialogue paper I will be interviewing my friend Sam Johnston who has been a good friend to me despite his different views, I will go on to talk
about the hard questions that every worldview has to answer.
The first question I asked him is your views a worldview? "I would not say it's a worldview because I am not a hardcore Secular Humanist I do believe
that Jesus was on the earth and taught great teachings but I do not believe that he was God but I do respect and encourage Christian people" The
reason that he does not believe in God is because it's not as proven as science. He believes in reason and does not believe there is enough reason and
facts to believe in God, he believes on what is proven and guaranteed in this world.
The next question I asked him is where do human being and the universe come from? "The Universe came from the big bang and humans came from
evolution, humans slowly evolved over time from the start we were animals and over billions of years we evolved into a more complex and more
complex species and eventually we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

their own life and I will live mine." Sam believes that everyone should live according to their countries respective laws and that everyone should

There are several major religions in the world. Over the years, people have worshiped various Gods and idols, but by far Jesus Christ of Nazareth is
now the most widely known religious figure in the world. He is central to Christianity, the largest religion in the world. In this paper, this writer will
examine the Christian and Muslim views of the deity of Jesus. This paper will demonstrate the validity of the deity of Jesus Christ and the Trinity in
response to the Muslims objection of Jesus Christ. The Christian and Muslim religions have many similarities. The both believe and accept that there is

Biblical Evidence
Scripture often speaks of blessed is that man that walks in the counsel of God. "God's blessedness means that God delights fully in himself and in
all that reflects his character. In this definition the idea of God's happiness or blessedness in connected directly to his own person as the focus of
all this worthy of joy or delight. This definition indicates that God is perfectly happy, that he has fullness of joy in himself. The definition also
reflects the fact that God takes pleasure in everything in creation that mirrors his own excellence. When he finished his work of creation, he
looked at everything that he had made and saw that it was "very good" (Gen. 1:31). This indicates that God's delight in and approval of his creation.
Then in Isaiah, we read a promise of God's future rejoicing over his people: "As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over
you" (62:5; cf. Prov. 8:30–31; Zeph.3:17).
As believers in Christ, we believe in One God, the Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth. We believe that He is the one who can provide atonement
of sin through Christ Jesus; that if we believe in Him we will have everlasting life and resurrection from the dead. Christianity teaches that man
cannot earn salvation. We need a savior who will bridge the gap and who will pay the penalty for our sins. Salvation is only in Christ 's finished work
on the cross that God considers

Christian View Of Heaven
One of the hardest parts for most people's lives is accepting death. Death is inevitable. The question that still remains is what happens after death. The
idea of there being something after life on Earth is questioned by some. Christian beliefs tell of a place your soul goes after you die on Earth known as
Heaven. While the depiction of Heaven varies from person to person, the principle idea of Heaven is a steady belief in the Christian faith. Heaven does
exist and is a real place of being that is believed by billions all over the world due to their faith, the words in the bible and near–death experiences that
occur to normal people.
The vision of Heaven is different amongst the Christian faiths. The Mormon faith believes that there are three levels of Heaven: celestial, terrestrial,
and telestial. The lowest level is telestial and this is for the people who don't deserve to be in Heaven, but aren't going to Hell. The terrestrial is for
the good, faithful people, and "Only those who make it to the celestial kingdom will live in the Father's presence." (Bowman 1) Mormons believe that

Views Of Predestination And The Christian Faith
Views of Predestination:
What to Believe
This Semester has been great for me with being in Exploring the Christian Faith. It has been a good reminder and has also helped me learn more
about my wonderful Lord. We discussed the idea of Predestination, but I will be exploring it even more. Let's first start off with a definition of
predestination. As a doctrine in Christian theology, the divine foreordaining of all that will happen, especially with regard to the salvation of some and
not others. It has been particularly associated with the teachings of St. Augustine of Hippo and of Calvin. Let's break this definition down even a bit
more. First, a doctrine is a belief or set of beliefs held and taught by a church, political party, or other group, which makes since because we are talking
about Christian Theology. St. Augustine helped form the idea of Neoplatonism. There are many different views of what actually predestination means
and how literal is should be taken.
Limited View
In the New Testament, the word "predestined" is used six times in six different verses of the bible. In Ephesians one five, it says, "He predestined us to
adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will." Now how do we interpret that? Do we take it in the
literal sense that he actually chooses certain people to have a chance, and all others, no matter what they do, will live without him in eternity? "Those of
mankind that are predestined unto life, God,

Christian Views on Poverty and Wealth
Christian Views on Poverty and Wealth
Distinctions made between the wealthy and the poor are known to measure not only standards of living, but the standard of human character. In the
Christian perspective, how one acts upon their wealth or poverty is often a measure of godliness. In present day, the gap between the rich and the
poor continues to grow. Even within the wealthiest nations, disparities between the wealthy and the poor are increasing as fewer people are
experiencing monetary success while the poor are becoming poorer (Ondari, 2001). Therein lies the paradox for Christians, as the growing
discrepancy between the rich and the poor occurs in a world that God has blessed with profusion, and has created a world for every person to live a
respectable and comfortable life. Understanding the Christian views on poverty and wealth first requires defining the two entities as they pertain to
human existence. The central definition of poverty is the experience of material deprivation, and also consists of isolation, dependence, and lack of
freedom as personal choice (Ondari, 2001). Concepts of wealth extend beyond material possessions, and incorporate access to food, opportunity,
security, physical and emotional health (Clapsis, 2002).
Christian studies on human nature recognize the human body as a spiritual entity, and human character is reflected in the context of such social
symbols as wealth and poverty. How Christians react to, and cope with, wealth and poverty

one to digress? Society and some of the denominations in the world look at today's issues (tribulations) as part of the Great Tribulation. Believing a

It Whispers It lurks in the back of everyone's mind, soundless and black, never seeming real until landing right in someone's ear, whispering that the
time has came. A term created at the same time as life, death originally defined itself as "a permanent cessation of all vital functions; the end of life" ("
Death"). The uses and views on death seem endless: some fear it, unable to imagine a world without themselves. Those involved in Christianity believe
that death starts the beginning of eternal life in a place called "Heaven". In everyday life, death surrounds everything. Everyone and everything that

every person that ever lived never died, the Earth would overpopulate and die, so death ultimately makes life possible. Animals die for people to
eat, people die to make room for more people, wars take billions of lives to kill pride. When thinking of life, a glow of light comes to mind. In

The Christian View Of God
With recent technology offering a more comprehensive perspective of the current global atrocities, the existence of evil has never been more prevalent.
If evil is defined as extreme suffering, premature death, and moral corruption, its existence questions the Christian view of God. The Christian God is
an all–seeing, all–powerful being of moral perfection. Because these two truths cannot coexist, the fact that evil exists disproves the existence of the
Christian God. If God is omnipotent, He could prevent any injustice. Since injustice does exist, it is necessary to modify either our perception of God 's
morality of, the extent of his power, or the limitations of human understanding.
It is unlikely that God allows for the existence of evil due to a moral reason. This view of morality comes from our modern interpretation of ethics and
would need to justify the pain and prejudice evident in the human world, deeming it either neutral or good. Many of those who have experienced
tremendous injustices also fail to reconcile the existence of God and evil. Elie Wiesel, a holocaust survivor, writes in his autobiographical work Night
that "I did not deny God 's existence, but I doubted His absolute justice," (Wiesel, Ch. 3). It is an abuse of power to justify the suffering of others
based on an end–goal without their consent or acknowledgment. If we accept this as fact, our perception of morality must change to include this
defense of suffering. Thus, if the basis of faith and God

The Formicarius (Ant Hill) of Johannes Nider, written in Latin in the 1430's, tells about activities in the Bernese Alps and other territories, based

various trials that presided over. Peter told Nider stories of when he not only drove suspected witches out of Bernese, but also of when he burned many
of them as their punishment for being labeled as a witch.
This text also goes on to state that Nider also met a Benedictine monk who, many years before their introduction, acted as "a necromancer, juggler,
buffoon, and strolling player, well–known as an expert among the secular nobility." (Internet History Sourcebooks Project) The most interesting story
in the text however, is the recount of another young man, who was arrested and eventually burned after being found guilty of being a witch. This man
and wife, who was also a witch, were previously arrested but had escaped confinement from Peter. Their escape only further solidified the belief that
they were in fact witches and they were eventually arrested again and brought back

Christian View of Buddhism
Buddhism is one of the largest religions in the world, and it is continually expanding throughout the world. Buddhism comes from "budhi", which
means "to awaken", the goal of Buddhism. Buddhism is a very open and adaptive religion. Because of this, there are over 80,000 different types of
Buddhism. The two most widest beleived being Mahayanna and Theraveda. There are about 3–4 million Buddhists in America now. Buddhism is rich
in history and it appeals to millions, as it spreads messages of peace, equality, and fairness with little or no commitment needed on the follower.
The goal of Buddhism is to reach enlightenment. Enlightenment is not only for those who are extremely "good". Every person has the potential to
reach that state ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If I did not know that God sent his Son to die for my sins and free me from the burden of sin and death, I could very easily see the appeal of
Buddhism. The problem with Buddhism is that it relies solely on the actions of one's self. We are imperfect beings, and nothing we do can redeem us
of the sin we live in. Except Jesus. Jesus came and said a person cannot do it on their own, they need savior to free them and provide a way to the
Father.
Buddhism is an incredibly enticing religion. It is peaceful, open–minded, easy to understand, with limited rules and structure, and adapts to the
individual. While the teachings are beneficial, and the message positive, they will never provide

Christians' Views on Abortion and Euthanasia Essays
Christians' Views on Abortion and Euthanasia
Abortion is a major issue to Christians each denomination has its own teachings on abortion. Abortion is to end a pregnancy deliberately because the
child is not wanted for some reason. "Thou shall not kill." (Exodus 20:13). There are different views on abortion, some people believe that abortion is
wrong because the foetus is still alive, but others believe that abortion is needed for instance if the mother's life was in danger, it would be better to
kill the foetus and save the mother, this means to choose the 'lesser of two evils.'
Abortion has been legal since 1967, because many women had been going to illegal 'back–street abortionists.' Abortion ... Show more content on

The Bible teaches us that life is started from the moment of conception "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you
apart." (Jeremiah 1:5)
The Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox churches forbid abortion totally. "Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of
conception; abortion and infanticide are the most abominable of crimes." (Statement from the Roman Catholic Church). The Church of England and
most of the Protestant churches agree with the Roman Catholic Church and Orthodox churches in principle. While abortion is generally not
accepted, it may be permitted in these certain cases: there is a serious risk to the mother's life, if conception takes place as a result of rape and if there
is a grave risk that the baby will be born handicapped.
Another form of the premature termination of life is euthanasia. Euthanasia means 'easy death,' euthanasia is the act of helping someone to die to ease
their suffering, these circumstances only occur if a person is suffering from a painful, debilitating and incurable illness. There are four forms of
euthanasia: passive, which is when a

I feel that this one is important, because if there is not clear purpose for conducting the test then there will be issues trying to conduct the statics test

with the test are honest and will go by what the data says. Another ethical guideline that is important is number four on the list that says to protect the
confidently of the information. Since these tests are confidential between the satiations and the client, it is momentous that the client's information
does not get leaked. The reason that this is a major issue if it did get leak is that there is employee and client confidential laws that are in place and
if the employer leaks the information it would cause a lot of problems. The last ethical guideline that is has major importance is listed at number sixth
is that when there is any issues or impartiality that the person working on the test or the clients need to inform each other immediately. The reason for
this is that if there are any problems with the experiment not being neutral they need to be notify right away to fix the problem. The problem can be
fixed by either having to restart the exam or shutting it down. Even though some of these ethical issues in place might seem like something everyone

Greek Vrs Christian Views
The Christian view of evil and the Greek view of evil are complete opposites as depicted in Dante Alighieri's play The Divine Comedy: Inferno
compared to Euripides play Medea. The Christian view differs from the Greek account of evil by the belief in God. The Christian view has clear
boundaries of good and bad behavior as shown in Inferno while the Greek belief is that nothing is inherently evil as seen in Medea. The Christian
and Greek views differ on the punishment directly related or unrelated to the evil behavior. Violence as an act of evil varies between the Christian
and Greek views. Lust, as an evil act, also differs between the two views. Christian and Greek views vastly differ on the premise of sorcerers, as evil

the punishment directly related or unrelated to the evil behavior. The difference of evil through the acts of violence in the Greek and Christian texts of
Medea and Dante's Inferno is also interesting. The Christian view as exemplified by Dante is that violence is a lesser evil than fraud. In Inferno the

evilness to complete her murderous plots. Medea's violence is the ultimate evil and it is extreme and continuous. Violence as an act of evil varies
between the Christian and Greek views of Inferno and Medea respectively. Lust, as an evil act, differs between the Christian and Greek views. The idea
of lust in the Christian poem Inferno is addressed as the second of 9 circles or a relatively minor act of evil. Lust is not seen as that big of a sin
relatively speaking as the first circle of hell is limbo and there are a total of nine circles of hell. The Greek tragedy Medea shows lust as the ultimate

Afterlife from a Christian Point of View
Have you ever thought about what happens after you die; if there is something after this life? There are many different approaches to whether there is
life after death or not, but in this paper we will be looking at the Christian perspective towards the afterlife. Christianity is the largest religion in the
world today due to it being branched down into different groups, and it is a known fact that there is no other religion today that has a huge impact on
our world to the extent that Christianity does. Christianity's beliefs on the afterlife can be broke down into two main broad groups, those of the Roman
Catholic Church, and those of the Protestant Church. Most often, Christian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
4). We become hateful and careless towards ourselves as well as others, inflicting pain on each other and on the rest of creation.
In the film Afterlife, directed by Hirokazu Koreeda, the actors did a good job at portraying what their afterlife would be like. Koreeda's bittersweet,
extraordinarily charming vision of what waits after death, souls are processed to regional offices where a group of caseworkers helps them choose
the happiest moment of each of their lives, in which they'll then live for eternity. The counselors guide the dead through this decision, coaxing a
young girl away from her fixation on a visit to Disneyland, and giving an elderly man videotapes of his life to prod his memory. Once the moment has
been picked, the counselors adorably recreate it, home movie–style – a pilot's account of flying is done with cotton ball clouds and fans, and we never
see what becomes of some of the surely more salacious choices – and that movie, screened, sends the soul off. The civil servant nature of office makes
this set–up work – the afterlife is mundane, pragmatic, a little shabby and deeply human, particularly once we learn that each of the caseworkers is
himself or herself a soul passed on from life, one unable to choose a memory on which to settle (Watson, 2000, para. 1–3). And in this movie you can
see how they portrayed the afterlife so good, and they allowed you to choose one memory to keep.

"Christian theology has had to protect the biblical view of special revelation against many perversions. Platonic preoccupation with "eternal ideas"
accessible by rational contemplation alone, plus the disregard of history as a meaningful arena. " Acknowledging and identifying the Four Horseman in
Rev. 6:1–8 King James Version is no different in the body of the church today. Many venues have tried to explain and teach expansions views of
their current teachers/shepherds that really do not qualify to have the title. Let alone study or understand the Word of God as a literal as history
events that have occurred and as future events that will come. Before the digression of the information required for this DB, it is wise to back up
for a moment and reintegrate the difference in tribulation and Great Tribulation. Jesus states in John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that
in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. KJV Why is this important for
one to digress? Society and some of the denominations in the world look at today's issues (tribulations) as part of the Great Tribulation. Believing a
child of God has to endure the same judgements as a non–believe. Ladies and Gentleman that is a lie. However, there is a parallel that is taking place
here as in Daniel, yet it is in Zechariah 6:1–8 (KJV) In the book of Zech. 6:1–8 (KJV) there are four horsemen(chariots) the exact color as the first four

Christian World View Of Love
A Biblical perspective of love is a bases for a Christian's fundamental actions in a romantic relationship. The Christian worldview interprets romance
and relationships in a more personal manner that stresses care for others before oneself. On a divine level, God affirms His believers that love is not
earned, but freely given. 1 John 3:16 states, "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our
lives for our brothers and sisters" (NIV). God reveals that love is sacrificial. Jesus did not give His life for us because we earned it, but laid down His
life because God's love could never be earned; it had to be freely given. God sets this ultimate example for His believers so that we know how ... Show

One similarity is that people are capable of love. There is an essence of romantic relationships in both worldviews. They also both aspire to engage
in personal connections with others. One main difference is that in today's modern culture, people believe that love is earned and not freely given
(Stickel). They stress the need to please one another to ultimately earn each other's love. However, with God the gift of love comes freely. Another
difference amidst society's ethics and the Christian worldview is how each perceives sex. Millennials confuse lust with love. Lust can not wait to
get, whereas love can not wait to give (Life). God warns in Hebrews 13:4, "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God
will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral" (NIV). God strictly warns against sexual sin, but He reveals the significance of marriage. In the
Bible, the book Song of Songs, God communicates His love for mankind and the intensity of divine love within the human heart. Songs of Songs also
references a healthy, Biblical sexual desire. In Song of Songs 1:1–4 the poet expresses, "Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth–for your love is
more delightful than wine. Pleasing is the fragrance of your perfumes; your name is like perfume poured out. No wonder the young women love you!
Take me away with you–let us hurry! Let the king bring me into his chambers" (NIV). This book in the Old Testament discuss the physical love
between a married couple. It reminds believers that both marriage and the physical union originates from God. He reveals that the union of two
people is beautiful and good. The love in Song of Songs is pure and not corrupted. Lastly, today's culture believes in a love that is negatively
self–centered and selfish. In the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13:4–8 reminds us that, "Love is patient,

Buddhism from a Christian View
Buddhism from a Christian View When the word Buddha is spoken the thoughts of Zen, peace and tranquility may come to mind. To the over 300
million Buddhist's throughout the world Buddhism is much more than a religion, it is a way of life. The path of a Buddhist can be summed up in three
simple sentences. The first, lead a moral life. The second, be mindful of your thoughts and actions and lastly, develop wisdom and understanding.
Buddhism is said to explain injustice within the world and at the same time provide its own code of ethics to live by, leading to true happiness. To
understand Buddhism as a Christian you must first learn who Siddhartha Gautama was, what the four Noble Truths are, how it relates to Nirvana and
finally how Buddhism parallels with Christianity. The majority of historians believe Buddhism originated in northern India sometime in 5th century
B.C. Siddhartha Gautama, who is referred to as the Buddha was born into a rich family in now what is modern day Nepal. At the age of 29 Buddha
vowed to find the key to happiness by observing the suffering of the world. He vowed to find a cure to this suffering and after six years he found what
he called "the middle path". Through constant meditation he was able to attain an enlightened state of being which in the viewpoint of Buddhists has
the ability to end the suffering of the world. As a teacher of Buddhism the Buddha explains that having found what seems to be a genuine teacher, one

The Christian Approach to Happiness
How should we live in order to be happy? Western society, even academia, are thoroughly obsessed with this question. We observe happiness in
unexpected ways and places, and see great damage done in its absence. We experience happiness as powerful and intoxicating. We assert confidently
that it is good. We yearn to understand it, define it, and capture it. Happiness is the great enigma that even young children seem to feel, but even great
scientists cannot fully explain. In every discipline happiness meets new definitions and explanations. Every discipline arrives at nuanced conclusions
about the source of happiness and the most productive means of pursuit. Christian doctrine is no exception, both the Christian bible authors and the
Christian writers that came after them grapple with ideas about the essence of happiness and how to approach it. While the world perceives ultimate
freedom and autonomy as crucial in their pursuit of happiness, Christians assert that happiness is a product of committing to the things that you love
and that bring you fulfillment. The Christian approach to happiness is embedded within a holistic framework to find fulfilment and meaning in life
through worshipping God.
In order to address the Christian approach to happiness, we must first establish what happiness is. Happiness as defined by the Merriam Webster
dictionary is a state of well–being, contentment, or

Essay On Christian World View
Introduction
This essay will discuss a definition of philosophy and what it means to have a Christian world view. The work of art chosen to be discussed in light
of this view is the "Creation of Adam" by Michelangelo. This essay will also explore the possible interpretations of the art's message at that time and
its impact on society today.
Definition
Philosophy is a theory on how we think things work and how we understand or interpret our world. (Learnersdictionary.com 2015) Philosophy
consists of thoughts and ideas that makes sense of and interprets life experiences. All types of disciplines whether academic, religious or scientific
etc., make their assessments or assumptions from a particular way of viewing the world. This world view is our philosophy. Whatever we perceive
with our senses is influenced or shaped by this "explicit or implicit philosophic background" (Loomer 2015). Life is experienced through a theoretical
framework whether people are mindful of it or not (Peterson 2015).

Comparing Christian And Aristotelian Views
1.For Aristotle, the contemplative life is directed towards the divine while the practical life is directed towards the human good. In Aristotle, these
ways of life are distinct. But the Jewish and Christian faith perspectives create possibilities for a unity between the contemplative and the practical that
is not possible from an Aristotelian perspective. Explain.
In the Jewish and Christian faiths it is possible to work towards both the divine and human good at the same time. For example, in Luke, there is
the parable of the Good Samaritan. This story tells of a traveller who is beaten up on the side of the road. A priest walks by, and then a Levite. Both
ignore the beaten man. Then a Samaritan walks by. He assists the man and pays for a place for him to stay. He is loving and saving his neighbor
despite traditional rivalry between Jews and Samaritans. By saving his neighbor and loving his neighbor he is loving God. Any person who acts in
this way is working towards both divine and human good at the same time. Therefore this parable proves that, unlike in the Aristotelian point of view,
in Christian and Jewish faith perspectives it is both possible and probable that positive actions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

would be seen by Aristotle as much more virtuous. He loves his son to such a degree that he is willing to make sacrifices for him. This courage to
save his son is relative, however. If someone who did not feel the same connection and love for the boy saved him from his bad decision–making, they
would be seen as even more virtuous because they are saving someone to whom they have absolutely no

states that the individual is the source of what is real and true and that there is no absolute truth in the world. Meaning no religion or way of life is
absolutely right and can dictate what is morally sound behavior. Essentially this removes responsibility from ourselves to do what is morally right

My Views On Christian Worldview

  • 1. My Views On Christian Worldview Whether clearly defined or not, everyone holds a worldview. Through life, travel, study, and contemplation, I have sought to clarify and substantiate my worldview. When comparing my beliefs to various other worldviews, mine stands up as logical and rational. Most importantly, my Christian worldview can be applied to contemporary problems and even explain many of the world's issues. Though the Christian worldview is one of the most criticized, it provides substantive answers instead of more philosophical questions. After all, a worldview is only worthwhile if one can explain and defend their beliefs. Christianity is the world's largest religion, and the religion, which defines my personal belief system. At the heart of Christianity is Jesus Christ: my personal Savior, and it is His teachings and sacrifice, which is the foundation of "Christianity." To begin, it is necessary to outline my beliefs as a Christian, since there are many conflicting Christian doctrines in contemporary society. My creed is the belief in the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. As theBible teaches, God is three personalities within in One Spiritual Being. Furthermore, I believe the God created the world as put forth in the Genesis account, and it was created in a perfect state and without sin. Near the end of His creation process, God created man in His image, He set him apart, and gave him dominion of all other living creatures. Sin and death only entered into to the ... • 2. The Christian View Of Fate In Beowulf Creative Title Here Throughout history, time has been a contributing factor to the variations in the conversion of literary text. Over the duration of its existence, the small details in writing can be lost in translation overtime, leading to a completely separate version. This is prevalent in Seamus Heaney's and Burton Raffel's versions of Beowulf . Both passages revolve around the theme of fate, however, Heyley's view is centered around christianity, while the interpretation of Raffel's is focused moreso on personal choices rather than fate alone. The Christian view of fate intails the idea that choices are predestined. Due to this belief, society entrusted all decisions in God's hands, without vigilance. Evident in Beowulf's battle with ... • 3. Christian World View Everyone has a worldview. This may be something we do not think about on the regular, but we all have one. A worldview is our set of beliefs used to understand the world. It shapes our thoughts on how we interpret reality, and forms our moral opinions. Our regular worldview is formed by almost anything secular, jobs, money, family even education. Then there is a Christian's Worldview which would be our sacred doings. The Christian or Biblical worldview is based on the word of God. When the word of God is the foundation of your everyday life. Believing that Jesus is the Lord not only at our time of death but through every aspect of our lives. We believe that we are all created from God and follow the word and fellowship beside him. So God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The humans that he created are physical humans who operate in a physical world and true physical events are also revealed in the bible. Throughout the bible it is shown that God works in so many different, magical ways to bring salvation to mankind. The bible helps gives us insight on God and what his purpose for humanity is. It is crucial for Christians to understand and be part of Gods plan and to know their place in it. Some may ask does a Christian or Biblical worldview matter. There is probably many different answers to this depending on whom you ask. It is important to remember that all worldviews affects our everyday living. There are many challenges for Christians and Non–biblical views are everywhere throughout our lives and slap us in the face when we are not even aware of it, television, magazines, music, even school and our children. Most of us will go through life without realizing how strong our worldviews have been tainted by these non–biblical views of the world. We are then taken mentally on a journey that will have Christ on the back burner, brainwashed by all the secular worldviews. See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ (Colossians 2:8). So, does the Christian worldview matter? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Christian Vs. Secular World View Of Abortion A worldview is an opinion that someone holds of the society and culture around us. People can have a biblical world view of life around them, which helps them to see with clarity that which is right or wrong with society's views. In contrast, people can have a secular world view, which usually causes them to see whatever they view as acceptable as correct. (64 words) My worldview is that whatever is written in the Bible – which is the word of God, given to us – should be taken as fact and applied to our daily lives. This means that I see premarital sex as a sin, and as something that should not be done as it is damaging to your future marriage. I believe that abortion is an act of murder, and therefore not acceptable. I believe that every ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Christian View Of Evil Ask a person from any culture around the planet and they will say that evil has always plagued humanity. However, when different people are asked to identify the source of evil found in their culture, the answers will differ from one another, maybe even drastically. This is most likely due to the varied experiences of their culture and faith traditions among other factors. Due to my lack of knowledge about other various perspectives of evil found around the world, I strive to articulate solely from my own Christian perspective. To begin, I will discuss what I believe evil to be. Conceptually speaking, there are two forms of evil, natural and moral. Natural evil consists of phenomena which occur due to natural sources within creation. This form of evil includes weather disasters, cosmic barriers such as asteroids or collapsing stars, planetary movements such as earthquakes and volcanoes, animal instincts such as viral outbreaks or bear attacks (i.e. anything that drives self–preservation in the animal world), and so on. Conceptually, natural evils are not affected by human involvement. In other words, these phenomena would occur regardless if humanity existed in creation or not. Once an otherwise naturally occurring phenomenon happens as a result of human behavior, i.e. global warming, it no longer fits this form of evil, conceptually speaking. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This tradition is also problematic in a way similar to the source of natural evil. If God created humanity with free–will than God is to blame for creating the potential for moral evil to occur. Some theologians attempt to remedy this by connecting moral evil with salvation. In other words, they see moral evil as the means to a salvific end, i.e. there is no reason to save the morally perfect, only the morally evil. This persuasion does not settle my discomfort with moral evil, especially when the experiences of others are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Christian Thought Vs. Christian View Essay Christian theologians and leaders have considered the subject of animals in various ways. Mostly as things to be used by humans, no more, no less. According to some theologians animals were to be treated with esteem, but no more respected than the inanimate objects. Animals were viewed as tools and possessions, just like anything else you can buy. However the traditional Christian view has not always been the same. When early theologians considered "nature" they determined that it was a natural law of the universe that animals should be preyed on and consumed. This then was mirrored in their theology. Christian thinking downgraded animals for three main reasons. First they reasons that God had created animals for the use of human beings and human beings were therefore authorized to use them in any way they want. Secondly they believed Animals were inferior to human beings and were worth little if any moral contemplation, because humans have souls while animals do not and humans have reason while animals do not. Christian thought was heavily human–o–centric and only deliberated on animals in relation to human beings. For most of its history Christianity viewed animals without much compassion. Even Thomas Aquinas was equally unconcerned with the welfare of animals. Aquinas taught the following points: First that Animals were created to be used by human beings. That animals do not have the ability to reason, and are therefore inferior to human beings. Finally that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Essay about A Christian View of Suffering The concept of suffering plays an important role in Christianity, regarding such matters as moral conduct, spiritual advancement and ultimate destiny. Indeed an emphasis on suffering pervades the Gospel of Mark where, it can be argued, we are shown how to "journey through suffering" (Ditzel 2001) in the image of the "Suffering Son of Man" (Mark 8:32), Jesus Christ. Although theologians have suggested that Mark was written to strengthen the resolve of the early Christian community (Halpern 2002, Mayerfeld 2005), the underlying moral is not lost on a modern reader grappling with multifarious challenges regarding faith in the face of suffering. In his article "A Christian Response to Suffering", William Marravee (1987) describes suffering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When spiritual liberation is achieved, all concerns for physical and emotional suffering end (Catholic.org 2000). There are many different perspectives on suffering with regard to its meaning, significance and purposes. Pope John Paul II (1984) wrote "On the Christian Meaning of Human Suffering", that it centres on the notion of redemptive suffering – to remit one's sins in order to save the soul from eternal suffering (damnation). Personally, I believe suffering can have a purpose. It can enrich life by giving us knowledge of both the good and the bad, arguably making us more appreciative of what we have . Indeed, James Stewart (2005) purports, "If there were no suffering, would there be compassion? If there were no discipline and hardship, would we ever learn patience and endurance? Construct a universe with no trouble in it and immediately you banish some of the finest qualities in the world." Our experiences of suffering may also help us in our moral conduct as an experience of suffering serves to make us sympathetic to the trials of others. We learn to a) help the afflicted (through consolation and relief) and to B) not inflict harm on others, having experienced suffering ourselves. Furthermore, many spiritual seekers in the past have felt that suffering and spiritual progress are inexorably linked, pointing to St Teresa of Avila and St Francis of AssisiI as examples . I believe that if we can learn from our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Christian World View Many questions can be asked concerning the Christian world view. Some of those questions include who is God? What is the nature of the universe? How does one distinguish right from wrong? How does one know what they know? These questions among others can be answered by reading what is written in the bible. The words of the Bible are written by man but inspired by God, who provides the answers to sought questions. According to Revelation 1:8 – God has declared "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." We know that the Bible is true, because the events that were revealed have come to pass. God reviled that a savior would be sent, born to a virgin, who would grow up and be crucified for the sins of man. He also indicated that Jesus would rise again. This happened as it was said, which proves that Gods word is true. Knowing what is wrong and right, assist us in understand the purpose of life. Life's purpose for humanity in general and Christians in specific is to worship God. Along with our worship of God, we are to maintain meaningful relationships with other people; including leading them to salvation, work hard and to take care of the earth and what has been given to us. We are to do this so that we can one day join him in heaven and spend eternity with him. People ponder eternity and what happens after we die, but God has provided answers to what will happen. Different things happen to those who are saved and those who are lost. For those who are saved they will immediately be in the presence of God. This is indicated by the words that are spoken by Jesus on the cross; "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise" Luke 23:43. Conversely, those who die without having accepted Christ as lord and savior are condemned to hell and will be there the moment of their death. • 9. Christians ' Views On Christianity Christianity is one of the three largest religious in the world and Christians always believe that Juses is the Son of God. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." Christians' belief is that they need to believe the word of God and these worlds are the foundation of the Christians. Christian practices are divided by denomination, however, the basic elements include private and corporate prayer, studying and reading of the Scriptures, a Sunday worship service and participation in rites such as baptism and communion. Dees the author of Resilient Leaders focused the chapters three and four on the core quality character traits (integrity and courage), and the highly sought quality of wisdom. Within this week studies the examination of how the above concepts affect organizations were of main importance, as the discussion progressed there is evidence that a Christian world view was used to better explain these concepts. This particular discussion post is designed to reflect the common consensus of group one regarding the three main concepts studied this week. Group Consensus Integrity, courage and wisdom was the three main concepts chosen to be of focus by group one this week. These concepts were carefully chosen with respect to leadership, an organization, and a Christian world view. A great leader embodies the above character traits (integrity and courage), and in turn enables an organization to strive from their expertise. • 11. World View Of A Christian Worldview Dialogue Paper In my dialogue paper I will be interviewing my friend Sam Johnston who has been a good friend to me despite his different views, I will go on to talk about the hard questions that every worldview has to answer. The first question I asked him is your views a worldview? "I would not say it's a worldview because I am not a hardcore Secular Humanist I do believe that Jesus was on the earth and taught great teachings but I do not believe that he was God but I do respect and encourage Christian people" The reason that he does not believe in God is because it's not as proven as science. He believes in reason and does not believe there is enough reason and facts to believe in God, he believes on what is proven and guaranteed in this world. The next question I asked him is where do human being and the universe come from? "The Universe came from the big bang and humans came from evolution, humans slowly evolved over time from the start we were animals and over billions of years we evolved into a more complex and more complex species and eventually we ... He is central to Christianity, the largest religion in the world. In this paper, this writer will examine the Christian and Muslim views of the deity of Jesus. This paper will demonstrate the validity of the deity of Jesus Christ and the Trinity in response to the Muslims objection of Jesus Christ. The Christian and Muslim religions have many similarities. "God's blessedness means that God delights fully in himself and in all that reflects his character. In this definition the idea of God's happiness or blessedness in connected directly to his own person as the focus of all this worthy of joy or delight. This definition indicates that God is perfectly happy, that he has fullness of joy in himself. The definition also reflects the fact that God takes pleasure in everything in creation that mirrors his own excellence. When he finished his work of creation, he looked at everything that he had made and saw that it was "very good" (Gen. 1:31). This indicates that God's delight in and approval of his creation. Then in Isaiah, we read a promise of God's future rejoicing over his people: "As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you" (62:5; cf. Prov. 8:30–31; Zeph.3:17). As believers in Christ, we believe in One God, the Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth. We believe that He is the one who can provide atonement of sin through Christ Jesus; that if we believe in Him we will have everlasting life and resurrection from the dead. • 13. Christian Psychology: Levels Of Explanation View DB #3 Levels –of– Explanation View. Eric Johnson (2010) describes this view "approach assumes a sharp distinction between the disciplines (or "levels") of psychology and theology and that the boundaries of each discipline, therefore, should not be blurred. To confuse these levels results in a misunderstanding of reality by blending together concepts that are, in fact, very different and do not really cohere." ( p. 34) Some of the strengths of this view take science as very significant, also it authorizes scientist from anywhere and everywhere regardless of beliefs to make scientific contributions. Secondly, I drove around to different psychiatrist offices where I live and more than half of them have a crucifix on the wall and/or a Bible in the waiting room not a coincidence. Lastly, what I have learned in class thus far Christianity and psychology have a lot in common more than meets the eye. Something I would change are two things and that is two of it's weaknesses. The first change would be quit focusing too much on the history of Christian psychology and actually challenge present day psychology I believe ask as many questions as possible in life do not accept the status quo. Will he or she be able to lead a productive and full life? Will he or she suffer for this condition? How hard will it be to care for a child with Down Syndrome? Then come the thoughts of terminating the pregnancy. Abortion. Is it possible to end the child's life and end the suffering the child will endure with a Christian worldview? • 15. Christian View Of Heaven One of the hardest parts for most people's lives is accepting death. Death is inevitable. The question that still remains is what happens after death. The idea of there being something after life on Earth is questioned by some. Christian beliefs tell of a place your soul goes after you die on Earth known as Heaven. While the depiction of Heaven varies from person to person, the principle idea of Heaven is a steady belief in the Christian faith. Heaven does exist and is a real place of being that is believed by billions all over the world due to their faith, the words in the bible and near–death experiences that occur to normal people. The vision of Heaven is different amongst the Christian faiths. The Mormon faith believes that there are three levels of Heaven: celestial, terrestrial, and telestial. The lowest level is telestial and this is for the people who don't deserve to be in Heaven, but aren't going to Hell. • 16. Views Of Predestination And The Christian Faith Views of Predestination: What to Believe This Semester has been great for me with being in Exploring the Christian Faith. It has been a good reminder and has also helped me learn more about my wonderful Lord. We discussed the idea of Predestination, but I will be exploring it even more. Let's first start off with a definition of predestination. As a doctrine in Christian theology, the divine foreordaining of all that will happen, especially with regard to the salvation of some and not others. It has been particularly associated with the teachings of St. Augustine of Hippo and of Calvin. Let's break this definition down even a bit more. First, a doctrine is a belief or set of beliefs held and taught by a church, political party, or other group, which makes since because we are talking about Christian Theology. St. Augustine helped form the idea of Neoplatonism. There are many different views of what actually predestination means and how literal is should be taken. Limited View In the New Testament, the word "predestined" is used six times in six different verses of the bible. In Ephesians one five, it says, "He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will." Now how do we interpret that? Do we take it in the literal sense that he actually chooses certain people to have a chance, and all others, no matter what they do, will live without him in eternity? • 17. Christian Views on Poverty and Wealth Christian Views on Poverty and Wealth Distinctions made between the wealthy and the poor are known to measure not only standards of living, but the standard of human character. In the Christian perspective, how one acts upon their wealth or poverty is often a measure of godliness. In present day, the gap between the rich and the poor continues to grow. Even within the wealthiest nations, disparities between the wealthy and the poor are increasing as fewer people are experiencing monetary success while the poor are becoming poorer (Ondari, 2001). Therein lies the paradox for Christians, as the growing discrepancy between the rich and the poor occurs in a world that God has blessed with profusion, and has created a world for every person to live a respectable and comfortable life. Understanding the Christian views on poverty and wealth first requires defining the two entities as they pertain to human existence. The central definition of poverty is the experience of material deprivation, and also consists of isolation, dependence, and lack of freedom as personal choice (Ondari, 2001). Concepts of wealth extend beyond material possessions, and incorporate access to food, opportunity, security, physical and emotional health (Clapsis, 2002). Christian studies on human nature recognize the human body as a spiritual entity, and human character is reflected in the context of such social symbols as wealth and poverty. • 19. Christian View Of Death It Whispers It lurks in the back of everyone's mind, soundless and black, never seeming real until landing right in someone's ear, whispering that the time has came. A term created at the same time as life, death originally defined itself as "a permanent cessation of all vital functions; the end of life" (" Death"). The uses and views on death seem endless: some fear it, unable to imagine a world without themselves. Those involved in Christianity believe that death starts the beginning of eternal life in a place called "Heaven". In everyday life, death surrounds everything. If every person that ever lived never died, the Earth would overpopulate and die, so death ultimately makes life possible. • 20. The Christian View Of God With recent technology offering a more comprehensive perspective of the current global atrocities, the existence of evil has never been more prevalent. If evil is defined as extreme suffering, premature death, and moral corruption, its existence questions the Christian view of God. The Christian God is an all–seeing, all–powerful being of moral perfection. Because these two truths cannot coexist, the fact that evil exists disproves the existence of the Christian God. If God is omnipotent, He could prevent any injustice. Since injustice does exist, it is necessary to modify either our perception of God 's morality of, the extent of his power, or the limitations of human understanding. It is unlikely that God allows for the existence of evil due to a moral reason. This view of morality comes from our modern interpretation of ethics and would need to justify the pain and prejudice evident in the human world, deeming it either neutral or good. Many of those who have experienced tremendous injustices also fail to reconcile the existence of God and evil. Elie Wiesel, a holocaust survivor, writes in his autobiographical work Night that "I did not deny God 's existence, but I doubted His absolute justice," (Wiesel, Ch. 3). It is an abuse of power to justify the suffering of others based on an end–goal without their consent or acknowledgment. If we accept this as fact, our perception of morality must change to include this defense of suffering. Thus, if the basis of faith and God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Levack, 2013) Nider also received testimony from a man from the Bernese territory who went by the name of Peter, a Benedictine monk, and an inquisitor from the convent at Lyons. Nider states that the judge from Bern told him stories about the torture of alleged witches and the confessions that some of them made at their trials, as well as details from various trials that presided over. Peter told Nider stories of when he not only drove suspected witches out of Bernese, but also of when he burned many of them as their punishment for being labeled as a witch. This text also goes on to state that Nider also met a Benedictine monk who, many years before their introduction, acted as "a necromancer, juggler, buffoon, and strolling player, well–known as an expert among the secular nobility." (Internet History Sourcebooks Project) The most interesting story in the text however, is the recount of another young man, who was arrested and eventually burned after being found guilty of being a witch. Koreeda's bittersweet, extraordinarily charming vision of what waits after death, souls are processed to regional offices where a group of caseworkers helps them choose the happiest moment of each of their lives, in which they'll then live for eternity. The counselors guide the dead through this decision, coaxing a young girl away from her fixation on a visit to Disneyland, and giving an elderly man videotapes of his life to prod his memory. The civil servant nature of office makes this set–up work – the afterlife is mundane, pragmatic, a little shabby and deeply human, particularly once we learn that each of the caseworkers is himself or herself a soul passed on from life, one unable to choose a memory on which to settle (Watson, 2000, para. 1–3). They stress the need to please one another to ultimately earn each other's love. However, with God the gift of love comes freely. Lust can not wait to get, whereas love can not wait to give (Life). Western society, even academia, are thoroughly obsessed with this question. We observe happiness in unexpected ways and places, and see great damage done in its absence. We experience happiness as powerful and intoxicating. We assert confidently that it is good. We yearn to understand it, define it, and capture it. Happiness is the great enigma that even young children seem to feel, but even great scientists cannot fully explain. In every discipline happiness meets new definitions and explanations. Every discipline arrives at nuanced conclusions about the source of happiness and the most productive means of pursuit. Christian doctrine is no exception, both the Christian bible authors and the Christian writers that came after them grapple with ideas about the essence of happiness and how to approach it. While the world perceives ultimate freedom and autonomy as crucial in their pursuit of happiness, Christians assert that happiness is a product of committing to the things that you love and that bring you fulfillment. The Christian approach to happiness is embedded within a holistic framework to find fulfilment and meaning in life through worshipping God. • 36. Comparing Christian And Aristotelian Views 1.For Aristotle, the contemplative life is directed towards the divine while the practical life is directed towards the human good. In Aristotle, these ways of life are distinct. But the Jewish and Christian faith perspectives create possibilities for a unity between the contemplative and the practical that is not possible from an Aristotelian perspective. Explain. In the Jewish and Christian faiths it is possible to work towards both the divine and human good at the same time. For example, in Luke, there is the parable of the Good Samaritan. This story tells of a traveller who is beaten up on the side of the road. A priest walks by, and then a Levite. Both ignore the beaten man. Then a Samaritan walks by. He assists the man and pays for a place for him to stay. He is loving and saving his neighbor despite traditional rivalry between Jews and Samaritans. By saving his neighbor and loving his neighbor he is loving God. Any person who acts in this way is working towards both divine and human good at the same time.
