This document summarizes the experiences of students visiting several ecological sites in the Philippines, including a marine sanctuary, mangrove forest, and wildlife conservation park. At the marine sanctuary, students helped clean up plastic pollution and learned about balancing conservation and recreation. In the mangrove forest, they planted trees and observed mangrove ecosystems and dugong. At the wildlife park, students hiked to waterfalls but some faced physical challenges, though all appreciated experiencing nature firsthand. The excursions helped students better understand protecting the environment and value of biodiversity.

30. KULIATAN MARINE SANCTUARY
Nature is so fascinating, it can be expressed in many different ways; na-
ture is good, nature is bad, nature could be as heaven, but it could be as
hell, as well as many infinite expressions that can be used to describe
nature. People have a mix of good and bad experiences with nature, and
after each experience they start to describe nature depending on the sit-
uations they face in their lives. Nature is what we see and what we feel
everyday in our lives. Why is nature good and bad?
It was the second time around when I went to this place. I could not ap-
preciate the beauty of the place because I am afraid to push my self to
go snorkelling and watch the fishes.
31. It was an amazing experience that I have conquered my fear to
face the curves of the waves. I have enjoyed the company of my
brave classmates. We went in the different sites. It was a sudden
upset to see some plastics floating along the shore. We got some of
it and put it in the trash bins. As we have noticed the place where
we saw the plastics are the places where most of the fishes hatch
their eggs. We thought that since it was a dwelling place for the
fishes it was maintained, but we got wrong because it turned out
that the purpose of the place is just a leisure place for everyone.
The place must have proper orientation to those people who visit
the place. We can be a good or bad influence to the nature. Man
which are also known as the destroyers and man as known to be
the defender. We are free to choose among these two. In order for
us not to suffer from the wreck of nature we must start the change
within ourselves. We have to do good and influence others to do
the same. We are created by God to take good care of his crea-
tions.
We must act as the guardians of the nature not the destroyer.
Through this activity we have learned that life exist even in the
smallest part or at the deepest part of the world.
32. KATUNGGAN ECO PARK
It was an amazing experience to plant a mangrove
tree in a muddy place and it was a nice feeling be-
cause we knew that we are part of saving the ail-
ing mother earth. I was fascinated of the beauty of
the pure green surroundings. I have never experi-
enced this before it was relaxing to look at. I was
also amazed to know that there were Dugong
found in the place. People in this place are very
Thankful because they can say that the waters that sur-
rounds them are healthy due to the existence of Du-
gongs and sea grass beds that serves as the food for the
animal. The highlight of the place is the raising waters
due to high tide. We have seen various species of ani-
mals that are living under the roots of the mangroves.
We also analyse the different mangroves and their
strength of survival. In order to make the mangroves
fully grown we have to follow some basic steps so that
these mangroves will be resistible to the high tides.
33. I really appreciate the effort of the municipality of Leganes since
they invest time, energy and effort just to come up with the con-
servation area. The facilitator is very smart that he enables us to
understand the basic concepts and understanding the different
characteristics of the mangroves. I could say that these people has
the heart in real environmental movement.
We should also help campaigning for the regulation of the use
of mangroves in any materials like paper and rubbers.
The sea is clean and the sea grasses are healthy. I realize that if we
have healthy surroundings we will have many animals to protect
on.
As responsible citizens we have to act and help in order to pre-
serve these natural parks so that the future generations would ex-
perience of having such green place.
34. MARI-IT WILDLIFE CONSERVATION
PARK
The touch of nature is a touch with love and con-
cern. It is a bombastic experience to get involved in
this kind of activity. I thank our subject (Advanced
Ecology) for giving us a wonderful experience. As we
go through our journey we experience happiness as
well as excitement. All of us prepared ourselves
Some of us jog before this activity because it requires high en-
durance for we know that we are going to climb up the moun-
tains to see the Inas falls. There comes the time that we can on-
ly see green and we pass along the river with cold water. I enjoy
the walk for 20 minutes. As we go deeper to the heart of the
forest. We felt cold and some light showers because of the
morning dew. We brought our foods and our back pack. We
could imagine that the falls is very beautiful and stunning. 30
more walks and I got tired. My body has its sudden adjustment
to my long walk.
35. All of my perception and excitement went into nothing. My body can’t endure
the heights. I pause for a sudden glimpse I faint down. Everything turned
black and the noise became quiet. Some of my classmates continued to the
next falls while us stop to a certain high point. I have realized that in order to
achieve your goal all you need to do is to prepare and advance your thinking
of what might happen. After all I can clearly appreciate the beauty of nature
that God has Given us. May we can preserve this and protect this from in-
vaders that might harm it. All the animals are amazing I couldn't imagine to
see a real wild boar because I thought this nature pigs only exist on Tv’s. The
people there are also good and very hospitable all in all we had a great trip.
36. THANK YOU SIR FOR LETTING US EXPERIENCE THESE
WONDERFUL THINGS
