This document discusses peer support services at Charles R. Drew High School in Clayton County, Georgia. It describes how Certified Peer Specialists and Recovery Coaches will provide wrap around supports through youth-led and strengths-based approaches to assist transition age youth. The goals are to engage students and address issues like mental health, substance abuse, and suicide prevention using peers who can relate through shared experiences in a recovery-oriented manner.

As of July 2017, 46 States, two Territories
(Guam and Puerto Rico), the District of
Columbia and the Veterans Administration
system have established programs to train
and certify peer specialists.
