Why should I be a Bleacher Creature?

3. • We were the Grand Marshal in the 4th of July
parade this past summer
• We have meetings almost every 2 weeks and
officer meetings almost every week.
• Pizza Parties
• Community activities; “Beaverton Clean up
Day, Adopt a family for Christmas, and Easter
Egg hunt”

4. We participate in MHSAA’s Battle of the Fans competition every year. Last year we won and
the officers got to go to the Breslin Center in East Lansing where the Michigan State
basketball teams play and accept the championship banner on the court at halftime of a state
semi-final game.

5. What is Battle of the Fans?
• Battle of the Fans (BOTF) was created 4 years ago by the
Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) to judge the
best student section in Michigan
• You submit a 3 minute video to MHSAA showing off your student
section and the video must show the following criteria;
• Sportsmanship
• Player involvement
• Community Involvement
• Overall Section participation
• And LOUDNESS!

6. BOTF continued…
• The MHSAA Student Advisory Counsel chooses the top 5 finalists
out of all the application videos
• When the top 5 are picked, MHSAA calls the AD of each of the
schools and sets up a date for them to come to a basketball game
to judge
• During the visit, around 7 kids from the school meet with people
from MHSAA for a big discussion on things about the school,
student section, etc.
• They then make a video and an article on their website of all 5
schools from their visit and show it to the Student Advisory
counsel and they choose a winner together

10. Why should I join Pep Club?
• It’s more than coming to the games and cheering..
• Last year we rode on a spirit bus for 3 hours to go to the Boys basketball
Regional Semi-final and Final games! On a school night!
• Little kids look up to us
• The community gives us support so we do the same in return.
• We are the defending State Champs!
• We also like to have a lot of fun

11. How do I join Pep Club?
• It’s really easy, we don’t turn people away
• All you have to do is come to the meetings and a couple games and you will be
considered a member of pep club!

games?
