2. Jessie Jay Domino POP
• In this music video I think that the use of
settings challenges the codes and conventions
of a pop genre video because all the frames
are performed in a studio, whereas usually
pop videos are shot outdoors and the
narrative follows the lyrics of the song, but
this music video does none of that.

3. costume
• In this music video Jessie Jay makes 8 different
costume changes, which is a lot more than
most other artists would make. The costumes
are all very feminine and show off her figure
to appeal young female audiences because it
would make them want to look like her. This
could also reflect her personality because it
represents her as young and hip.
4. Performance
• There is no link between the lyrics and the this
performance.
• This could be perhaps because she is trying to
keep all the attention on her without having
all the distractions on a potential music video
going on in the background.
• Its trying to make a recognisable image for
herself
5. Lady Gaga Poker face
POP
• In this music video I think the video mostly
conforms to the genre conventions of the pop
genre through the performance of the
characters acting and dancing in time with the
music.

6. Setting
• It is set in a Large house which looks like it
could be a holiday resort in a remote area.
There is lighting in the background which is
meant to connate the her emotion while
playing cards (on fire)
7. Costume and props
• The costumes used are all very feminine and are
meant to make her look sexualised to help
connote what she her performance is doing and
not the words.
• It is also used to give an identity
• The use of cards and a poker table are there to
follow the plot of the lyrics but the use of plastic
body's are there to give a sense of always being
watched. i.e. at the poker table people are
watching her every move.
8. colour
• There is bright flood lights facing the camera
in some of the shots which make that part of
the screen slightly distorted. This could
connotate personify someone else playing
cards at the table and she can’t tell what they
have got in their hand.
9. Take that
• Deepest meaning is people are afraid of what
they don’t know.

10. • In the opening scene the child Is watching a
TV program called destination, which is ment
to foreshadow what is going to happen in the
music video because aliens come from outer
space. This links to the lyrics because the
words ‘there will be trouble when the kids
come out foreshadow the aliens leaving their
ship.
11. when the sound cuts out on the TV program and
cuts to the army in a helicopter which is meant
to represent that the first human reaction to
danger is violence and that they need to protect
themselves.
12. • The use of a record player instead of a CD or
backing track is done to represent what
Children did in the 70’s and 80’s because the
cool thing to do was own lots of vinyl's and
listen to music and go to gigs.
• But there is a link between modern and dated
here because Robbie Williams is riding a BMX
which is very modern which makes the band
relatable to the past and the present.
