Use this form when recommending approval of a class trip. Submit to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

Educational Value Describe the educational value that is directly connected to the curriculum, school
improvement plan or District strategic plan.
Stakeholder Interest Describe the level of interest and support along with any related data from students and
parents.
Stakeholder Commitment Indicate the number and percent of total students who will participate in this trip.
Describe the current commitment to the trip and the level of student participation as measured by a written
commitment and/or deposit for the trip.
Family Financial Obligation Describe how the financial obligation required for the trip is within reason for the
average income family and there are opportunities to offset the cost (fundraising) and plans to assist students
that can’t afford it.
Alternatives Describe how all cost saving measures were considered such as selecting an alternate location to
accomplish a similar experience.
Instructional Time Considerations Describe how the trip has been planned to ensure the least amount of lost
classroom instructional time.
