4. History of his venture
Wood trekked through the Himalayas during vacation.
Met a ''resource director'' for schools of Annapurna Circuit of
Nepal.
Both visited a school of 450 students.
Books there were not for students their age.
Inspired him to approach others for book donations.
Returned with 3000 donated books a year later.
Left his job at Microsoft.
Devoted himself full time to Books for Nepal.
Books for Nepal formed Room to Read.
5. Impact of his venture
Room to Read impacted at least five million children's lives.
Provided increased access to better educational opportunities:
-Through its network of libraries and schools;
-Local language children’s books;
-and Girls’ education Program.
