2. GJ Productions
 This production company is suitable because it focuses
on films with controversial narratives
 They have a low budget therefore focus on changing
representations and ideologies instead of using special
effects to create an interesting film
 They company has had prior experience of producing
terrorist based films.

3. Focus Features
 Experienced- they have distributed many films which have nearly
all been successful.
 Willing - they want to distribute MISJUDGED
 Well known- by using them as our distributer having their logo on
our product suddenly extends the popularity of our film.
 It’s a subsidiary- this is a company whose voting stock is more
than 50%controlled by another company, usually referred to as the
parent company or holding company. This means that any
decisions made will be by Focus Features and not a supporting
company. This is why I wantFocus Features as our distributer.
 Success- they are well known for their success and this is what we
want- to be successful.

4. More reasons for Wanting
Focus Features
 They are a vertically integrated company meaning they
can basically do anything with our product which they
want to.
 Oligopoly- they own the majority of all media so
competition won’t be as high.
 Monopoly- However as it is illegal they are not a
monopoly so competition will still exist.

5. Closed Circuits
 Focus Features distributed a film called closed circuits
which had a narrative based around a terrorist
organization
 This film is very similar to MISJUDGED and we would
like the success that focus features bought to Closed
Circuits to also present within our film
 Focus Features gave Closed Circuits success with their
ability to market and advise the product

6. How we will attempt to get
them?
 We will rely on securing distribution with a
conglomerate company, Focus Features, through
exhibition of MISJUDGED at film festivals and we will
make a formal approach to them as well where we will
sit down and ask them for exactly what we are looking
for.
