Aeroflot (Russia) announces 6M 2020 IFRS financial results
• In 6M 2020, Aeroflot Group carried 12.9 million passengers, down 54.2% year-on-year. In 6M 2020, operating
results were significantly affected by the decrease in demand and flight restrictions amid the spread of the novel
coronavirus.
• In 6M 2020, Aeroflot Group’s revenue decreased by 52.0% year-on-year to RUB 149,352 million.
• Revenue from scheduled passenger flights decreased by 55.0% year-on-year to RUB 114,503 million, due to a
decrease in passenger traffic as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Cargo revenue rose by 40.7%, to RUB 12,282 million year-on-year as the Company reoriented some of its
wide-body aircraft to carry cargo and mail in the baggage compartment as well as in the cabin.
• Other revenue decreased by 43.6% year-on-year to RUB 17,479 million.
• In 6M 2020, operating costs reduced by 34.1% to RUB 195,471 million, primarily due to a reduction in
operational volumes (capacities decreased by 47.8% year-on-year), as well as due to the implementation of
measures aimed at reducing fixed costs.
• Aircraft fuel costs decreased by 52.6% year-on-year to RUB 43,929 million as flight volumes and flying time
decreased.
• Excluding fuel costs, operating costs decreased by 25.8% year-on-year to RUB 151,542 million, primarily due
to reduced operational volumes and the almost complete suspension of flights in April and May 2020.
• Other expenses decreased by 82.6% year-on-year to RUB 2,826 million, due to a decrease in expenses
associated with the booking system and flight catering amid lower flight volumes, as well as due to a RUB 7.9
billion subsidy from the Russian government.
• In 6M 2020, finance income reduced by 33.3% year-on-year to RUB 2,164 million, primarily due to a decrease
in interest income on deposits as a result of lower interest rates.
• Finance costs decreased by 14.9% year-on-year to RUB 23,189 million, primarily due to a decrease in leasing
interest expenses as a result of lower interest rates, and also due to a decrease in lease liabilities in their respective
payment currencies.
• The realised loss from hedging amounted to RUB 7,557 million and includes non-cash revaluation of lease
liabilities of RUB 6,710 million. The depreciation of the rouble during the reporting period led to a revaluation
of our debt portfolio. Following the decrease in FX-denominated revenue in accordance with applicable
accounting standards, the revaluation is reflected in the Company’s profit and loss account.
• Aeroflot Group’s net loss for 6M 2020 amounted to RUB 58,270 million. Including revaluation of lease
liabilities paid in foreign currency, the adjusted net loss for the period amounted to RUB 51,560 million.
Executive Commentary
PJSC Aeroflot Deputy CEO for Commerce and Finance, said: “In the second quarter of 2020, and above all
in April and May, most of Aeroflot Group’s fleet was grounded following COVID-related restrictions, while
the aircraft that continued flying operated with significantly reduced flight hours. The Group's extensive
route network was significantly reduced, and we only operated flights essential to maintaining transport
accessibility in the Russian regions and to supply much-needed medical equipment and medicines. As a
result, the Group's passenger traffic reduced by 88.8% in the second quarter. The biggest decrease occurred
in April, when the Group carried just 229,000 passengers, against 4-5 million before the pandemic. As
restrictions started to be lifted the domestic market began to see a gradual recovery – by the end of June
Aeroflot Group carried 1.2 million passengers. In the meantime, the health and safety of our passengers
remain our top priority, and we are doing our best to ensure passenger safety and comfort in these
unprecedented circumstances. With almost no revenue from passenger transportation we needed to think out
of the box. Given strong demand for cargo services we reoriented a number of wide-body aircraft to carry
cargo, resulting in strong cargo revenue, which was up 64.0% in second quarter year-on-year. To ensure the
Group’s financial stability we have put in place a number of optimisation measures. We entered negotiations
with our key counterparties and have already reached some agreements with regard payment holidays and
special terms with some of our partners. These and other measures enabled the Group to restrict the net loss
in the second quarter to RUB 35.8 billion.”

DP World Limited, announced the acquisition of Transworld Feeders FZCO, Avana Logistek Limited,
including its subsidiary Avana Global FZCO, and Transworld Feeders Pvt. Ltd., the containerised
Indian coastal and EXIM feeder shipping operations of Shreyas Shipping and Logistics Limited,
excluding vessels and bulk operations. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals. Transworld
Feeders FZCO and Avana Global FZCO are leading independent feeder and NVOCC (Non-Vessel
Operating Common Carriers) operators, offering container feedering services and regional trade
solutions connecting a wide range of ports in the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent and Far East
through their dense network. The central hub port at Jebel Ali (UAE) plays a pivotal role for a large
part of the services. Both the companies have a strong presence within trade routes west of the Indian
Subcontinent and complement the recent acquisition of Feedertech and Perma Shipping, which have
a strong market position in the trade routes towards the east of the Indian Subcontinent. Transworld
Feeders Pvt. Ltd. and Avana Logistek Limited maintain a comprehensive coverage of all main ports,
terminals and inland destinations in India. Avana Logistek Limited also provides first mile and last
mile delivery solutions within the Indian domestic market. Both are market leaders in providing
logistic solutions to cargo owners, traders, forwarders, and shipping lines. Further, they will both
complement and expand our ability to offer a broader range of India focused solutions. These new
entities will continue to operate an asset-light structure as per the Unifeeder model, which delivers
greater flexibility and efficiency for customers.
Executive Commentary
Group Chairman and CEO, DP World, said: “We are delighted to announce these bolt-on
acquisitions which give us complete coverage in fast-growing markets between East Africa, Gulf,
and the wider Indian Subcontinent. These new activities are in line with our strategy and
complement our recent acquisitions of Feedertech and Perma Shipping. We now have the
capability to offer superior connectivity between Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, the Middle East,
and East Africa, and this greater scale and comprehensive network presence will allow us to
reduce inefficiencies in the supply chains to the benefit of all our customers. Transworld Feeders
and Avana are both strong and well-known brands that handle approximately 1.2mn TEU per
annum and operate in fast-growing markets. Our Unifeeder ISC platform will continue to operate
an asset-light, independent common-user platform, as we continue to build the Unifeeder brand,
which is best known for efficient connectivity, flexibility, and reliability. Unifeeder now has
full-scale capability to offer feedering and regional trade connectivity in Northern Europe,
Mediterranean, Northern Africa, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Asia. These acquisitions
further strengthen our logistics solution-based capabilities, as we can combine our significant
network of ports and market-leading inland logistics offering to deliver compelling supply chain
solutions to all our customers. DP World and Transworld group have enjoyed a fruitful
partnership over the years, and we are excited to partner with them as we build out our vision to
become a global supply chain solutions provider. We will continue to build on our strategic vision
to connect directly with end-customers and beneficial cargo owners by delivering end-to-end
solutions that remove inefficiencies in the supply chain and accelerate trade growth to deliver

Executive Commentary
DP World Group Chairman and CEO commented: "The Covid-19 outbreak has undoubtedly
resulted in one of the most challenging periods in the history of our industry. Our gross
volumes have declined by 3.9% in 1H2020 which compares favourably against an estimated
industry decline of 10%. However, our like-for-like EBITDA6, excluding land sale in the
prior period, has grown by 1.1% during this period which demonstrates that we have
managed costs efficiently. This outperformance once again demonstrates that we are in the
right locations and a focus on origin and destination cargo will continue to deliver the right
balance between growth and resilience. Despite the challenges, we have continued to make
progress on our strategy to deliver an integrated supply chain solution to cargo owners. We
have focused our efforts on digitizing logistics and developed solutions for several verticals
including the Automotive, Oil & Gas and FMCG industries. We are pleased to state that
cargo owners have responded positively, and we are now delivering efficient solutions to our
customers, which bodes well for the future. In 2020, DP World de-listed its equity from the
stock exchange and returned to private ownership. The strength and resilience that our
business continually demonstrates throughout the cycles is due to the investment the Group
has made over the years in response to changes in our industry. Our ability to adapt and
change has been the key to our success, and we must continue to evolve for continued
growth. We believe this long-term approach to business is not aligned with the short term
thinking of equity markets and consequently the next stage of DP World's development will
take place as a private company. Looking ahead, our focus is on the safety of our employees,
integration of our recent acquisitions to drive synergies, containing costs to protect
profitability and managing growth capex to preserve cashflow. Overall, we are encouraged
that our business has performed better than expected given the Covid-19 pandemic and,
while the outlook is still uncertain, we remain positive on the medium to long-term
fundamentals of the industry."

Korean Air Ranks First in Global Customer Satisfaction for 16th consecutive year
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

Korean Air took first place in the air passenger transport service sector at the 2020 Global Customer Satisfaction Index (GCSI) awards. This is the 16th consecutive
year Korean Air has topped the list. Developed by Global Management Association (GMA) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, GCSI is an index to
select the best corporation in each category. It compiles and evaluates customer satisfaction levels, global competitiveness and customer loyalty. Korean Air’s
continuous efforts to differentiate its services and introduce eco-friendly aircraft have been recognized as the best by the industry since 2005. The airline has been
strongly committed to improving customer experience; its recents efforts include launching baggage notification system, expanding self-check-in options and
strengthening disinfection on its aircraft. Korean Air has also been actively reassuring passengers of a safe in-flight environment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The airline maintains safe flights by thoroughly disinfecting all its aircraft. The airline carries out disinfection more often than the legal requirements. Domestic
flights are disinfected more than once a week, and additional disinfection work is performed on all international flights arriving at Incheon International Airport
and those departing from Incheon to the Americas. Meanwhile, Korean Air maintains the highest quality of cabin air on all its aircraft. HEPA filters installed in
aircraft effectively remove nearly 100% of any particulate matter that may be present in the air. Moreover, cabin air on all Korean Air aircraft is designed to flow
from ceiling to floor rather than from front to back, minimizing the spread of contaminants through the cabin. Back in July, the airline also conducted a special
inspection on HEPA filters and air circulation systems on its aircraft.

PT NEX Logistics Indonesia a subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. in July received halal certification from the Indonesia Ulama Council's Food, Medicines and
Cosmetics Assessment Agency (LLPOM-MUI), Indonesia's halal certifying body, for its Bekasi Logistics Center on the Gobel Industrial Estate. The Bekasi
Logistics Center follows the Deltamas Logistics Center to become the second NEX Logistics Indonesia location to receive halal certification. With Muslims
making up approximately 90% of Indonesia's population of 260 million, a law went into effect in October 2019 requiring halal certification for all food, cosmetic
and pharmaceutical products produced or distributed within Indonesia. Companies doing business in Indonesia have subsequently shown heightened interest in
halal certification. Further expansion of the halal market is anticipated as a consequence of rising consumer demand driven by economic development and
population growth, and this should boost demand for warehouse storage of halal products. The recently certified Bekasi Logistics Center has been fully outfitted
with frozen, refrigerated, and room-temperature spaces within the warehouse to enable the storage of halal products at all temperature ranges. NEX Logistics
Indonesia is one of three Nippon Express Group companies to have obtained halal certification in Indonesia, enabling the Group to provide comprehensive halal
logistics services from air/ocean cargo forwarding to warehouse storage and delivery. With interest in halal products on the rise in Indonesia, Nippon Express will
continue enhancing its network for halal logistics services that supports the supply chains of customers expanding into the Muslim market, reflecting its ongoing
commitment to offering safety and peace of mind to its Muslim customers.

Delta (USA) teams up with CVS Health to accelerate employee COVID-19 testing

Delta Air Lines is partnering with CVS Health to accelerate employee COVID-19 testing with a rapid-response option for flight crews, a move that will build
confidence about traveling with Delta among our people and customers alike. The CVS Health Return Ready SM testing will be overseen by a CVS Health
clinician at Delta hub crew lounges and takes fewer than 15 minutes to diagnose whether the active COVID-19 virus is detected. The rapid-response
nasal-swab test is the newest testing option Delta is providing employees so a baseline understanding of the infection can be established across Delta. Health
experts agree that a multi-layered approach that includes testing, regularly checking symptoms, wearing masks, distancing and personal hygiene are the
greatest inhibitors to spreading COVID-19. “Just like there’s no single method to reducing the transmission of the virus, there’s no one solution to testing our
global workforce that is always on the move,” said, Delta’s Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer. “That’s why we’re excited to be partnering
with CVS Health and their clinicians to offer an additional convenient and reliable option to our people.”

Lufthansa and Vereinigung Cockpit agree on package of short-term crisis measures through
the end of the year
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
27
Lufthansa has concluded a short-term agreement with the pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) for initial measures to manage the coronavirus crisis.
The measures apply to the pilots of Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa Aviation Training and some of the Germanwings pilots. The agreement
includes cost reduction measures that will apply until the end of the year. Among other things, top-up payments for short time working compensation
benefits and employer contributions to the pension scheme will be reduced from September onwards. Collective wage increases negotiated for 2020
will be postponed until January 2021. Lufthansa will refrain from implementing redundancies due to business operations for the pilots of Lufthansa,
Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa Aviation Training and certain of the Germanwings pilots until March 31, 2021. However, the significant overcapacity of
pilots will last considerably beyond March 2021. The number of redundancies for operational reasons can therefore only be limited by concluding a
long-term crisis agreement. In a long-term crisis package, the costs of the personnel surplus could, for example, be compensated for by a corresponding
reduction in working hours and salary for the period of the crisis. At the same time, Lufthansa has announced that for all German flight operations, it
will refrain from hiring new pilots from outside the Group as long as there is an overcapacity of cockpit staff. This will also apply to the cockpit staffing
of tourist-oriented flight operations - which will be open to pilots from Sun Express Deutschland and the German base of Brussels Airlines who flew
tourist routes during the past few years.

Kuehne+Nagel has set out ambitious goals to neutralise the climate impacts of supply chains and is pleased to announce that UK Greetings has become the first company
in the UK to address its CO2 emissions through the Net Zero Carbon programme. UK Greetings are market-leading publishers of greeting cards and gift dressings. As
part of its Net Zero Carbon programme, Kuehne+Nagel offers UK Greetings a complete solution for CO2 neutralisation. By choosing particularly climate-friendly
transport solutions and offsetting the remaining emissions with CO2 certificates, UK Greetings’ logistics become climate-neutral. Kuehne+Nagel takes care of the entire
process and ensures smooth coordination with the rest of the supply chain. Ethical consumer spending has hit record levels in the UK, with 43% of UK consumers already
actively choosing brands due to their environmental values (Deloitte UK, 2020). It’s clear that consumers are more concerned than ever about the environmental impact
of their purchases, and for companies looking to prove their green credentials, a climate-neutral supply chain can be a key differentiator in the UK market. The Net Zero
Carbon programme means that both Kuehne+Nagel and its customers are able to fulfil those expectations. With Net Zero Carbon, Kuehne+Nagel has also set ambitious
climate targets for itself. By the end of 2020, the company's own CO2 emissions (Scopes 1 and 2 of the greenhouse gas protocol) will be neutral; by 2030, this will be
extended to all transport by suppliers such as airlines, shipping lines and haulage companies.

Nippon Express USA acquires GDP certification for Chicago warehouse

Nippon Express USA, Inc. a subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. has recently set up NEX Pharma Solutions-Chicago, a temperature-controlled facility
specializing in medical and pharmaceutical products, within its warehouse located near Chicago O'Hare Airport and obtained GDP certification for the
facility, which began operations on Tuesday, September 1. The US Midwest (including Chicago) and Northeast are home to numerous pharmaceutical and
medical equipment businesses, and these regions are expected to see rising demand for related logistics services. NEUSA's Chicago location is its largest air
cargo hub, a gateway that operates regular shuttle trucks to transport cargo arriving at Chicago O'Hare Airport to company locations in other Midwestern
states for delivery as early as the following morning. NEUSA on September 1 completed the procedures necessary to make subsidiaries out of MD Logistics
LLC and MD Express LLC, two US logistics companies specializing in logistics functions for medical and pharmaceutical products. These companies have
four warehouses in neighboring Indiana as well as one in Nevada that offer storage, distribution processing and nationwide delivery services, and connecting
these to the newly upgraded Chicago hub will make it possible to link these warehouses to overseas operations while still maintaining the transport quality
appropriate for medical and pharmaceutical products. Strict compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and other quality standards is required
worldwide when handing pharmaceuticals, and customers are demanding increasingly higher quality standards for temperature control during
transport/storage. The new NEX Pharma Solutions-Chicago will enable NEUSA to provide safe and high-quality temperature-controlled transport services
and to meet customer needs with GDP-compliant facilities and operating frameworks.

  • 6. Financial, M&A Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Aeroflot (Russia) announces 6M 2020 IFRS financial results • In 6M 2020, Aeroflot Group carried 12.9 million passengers, down 54.2% year-on-year. In 6M 2020, operating results were significantly affected by the decrease in demand and flight restrictions amid the spread of the novel coronavirus. • In 6M 2020, Aeroflot Group’s revenue decreased by 52.0% year-on-year to RUB 149,352 million. • Revenue from scheduled passenger flights decreased by 55.0% year-on-year to RUB 114,503 million, due to a decrease in passenger traffic as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. • Cargo revenue rose by 40.7%, to RUB 12,282 million year-on-year as the Company reoriented some of its wide-body aircraft to carry cargo and mail in the baggage compartment as well as in the cabin. • Other revenue decreased by 43.6% year-on-year to RUB 17,479 million. • In 6M 2020, operating costs reduced by 34.1% to RUB 195,471 million, primarily due to a reduction in operational volumes (capacities decreased by 47.8% year-on-year), as well as due to the implementation of measures aimed at reducing fixed costs. • Aircraft fuel costs decreased by 52.6% year-on-year to RUB 43,929 million as flight volumes and flying time decreased. • Excluding fuel costs, operating costs decreased by 25.8% year-on-year to RUB 151,542 million, primarily due to reduced operational volumes and the almost complete suspension of flights in April and May 2020. • Other expenses decreased by 82.6% year-on-year to RUB 2,826 million, due to a decrease in expenses associated with the booking system and flight catering amid lower flight volumes, as well as due to a RUB 7.9 billion subsidy from the Russian government. • In 6M 2020, finance income reduced by 33.3% year-on-year to RUB 2,164 million, primarily due to a decrease in interest income on deposits as a result of lower interest rates. • Finance costs decreased by 14.9% year-on-year to RUB 23,189 million, primarily due to a decrease in leasing interest expenses as a result of lower interest rates, and also due to a decrease in lease liabilities in their respective payment currencies. • The realised loss from hedging amounted to RUB 7,557 million and includes non-cash revaluation of lease liabilities of RUB 6,710 million. The depreciation of the rouble during the reporting period led to a revaluation of our debt portfolio. Following the decrease in FX-denominated revenue in accordance with applicable accounting standards, the revaluation is reflected in the Company’s profit and loss account. • Aeroflot Group’s net loss for 6M 2020 amounted to RUB 58,270 million. Including revaluation of lease liabilities paid in foreign currency, the adjusted net loss for the period amounted to RUB 51,560 million. Executive Commentary PJSC Aeroflot Deputy CEO for Commerce and Finance, said: “In the second quarter of 2020, and above all in April and May, most of Aeroflot Group’s fleet was grounded following COVID-related restrictions, while the aircraft that continued flying operated with significantly reduced flight hours. The Group's extensive route network was significantly reduced, and we only operated flights essential to maintaining transport accessibility in the Russian regions and to supply much-needed medical equipment and medicines. As a result, the Group's passenger traffic reduced by 88.8% in the second quarter. The biggest decrease occurred in April, when the Group carried just 229,000 passengers, against 4-5 million before the pandemic. As restrictions started to be lifted the domestic market began to see a gradual recovery – by the end of June Aeroflot Group carried 1.2 million passengers. In the meantime, the health and safety of our passengers remain our top priority, and we are doing our best to ensure passenger safety and comfort in these unprecedented circumstances. With almost no revenue from passenger transportation we needed to think out of the box. Given strong demand for cargo services we reoriented a number of wide-body aircraft to carry cargo, resulting in strong cargo revenue, which was up 64.0% in second quarter year-on-year. To ensure the Group’s financial stability we have put in place a number of optimisation measures. We entered negotiations with our key counterparties and have already reached some agreements with regard payment holidays and special terms with some of our partners. These and other measures enabled the Group to restrict the net loss in the second quarter to RUB 35.8 billion.” For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 1 Key Financial Highlights

The central hub port at Jebel Ali (UAE) plays a pivotal role for a large part of the services. Both the companies have a strong presence within trade routes west of the Indian Subcontinent and complement the recent acquisition of Feedertech and Perma Shipping, which have a strong market position in the trade routes towards the east of the Indian Subcontinent. Transworld Feeders Pvt. Ltd. and Avana Logistek Limited maintain a comprehensive coverage of all main ports, terminals and inland destinations in India. Avana Logistek Limited also provides first mile and last mile delivery solutions within the Indian domestic market. Executive Commentary Group Chairman and CEO, DP World, said: “We are delighted to announce these bolt-on acquisitions which give us complete coverage in fast-growing markets between East Africa, Gulf, and the wider Indian Subcontinent. Executive Commentary DP World Group Chairman and CEO commented: "The Covid-19 outbreak has undoubtedly resulted in one of the most challenging periods in the history of our industry. Our gross volumes have declined by 3.9% in 1H2020 which compares favourably against an estimated industry decline of 10%. However, our like-for-like EBITDA6, excluding land sale in the prior period, has grown by 1.1% during this period which demonstrates that we have managed costs efficiently. This outperformance once again demonstrates that we are in the right locations and a focus on origin and destination cargo will continue to deliver the right balance between growth and resilience. Despite the challenges, we have continued to make progress on our strategy to deliver an integrated supply chain solution to cargo owners. We have focused our efforts on digitizing logistics and developed solutions for several verticals including the Automotive, Oil & Gas and FMCG industries. We are pleased to state that cargo owners have responded positively, and we are now delivering efficient solutions to our customers, which bodes well for the future. In 2020, DP World de-listed its equity from the stock exchange and returned to private ownership. The strength and resilience that our business continually demonstrates throughout the cycles is due to the investment the Group has made over the years in response to changes in our industry. Our ability to adapt and change has been the key to our success, and we must continue to evolve for continued growth. We believe this long-term approach to business is not aligned with the short term thinking of equity markets and consequently the next stage of DP World's development will take place as a private company. Looking ahead, our focus is on the safety of our employees, integration of our recent acquisitions to drive synergies, containing costs to protect profitability and managing growth capex to preserve cashflow. Overall, we are encouraged that our business has performed better than expected given the Covid-19 pandemic and, while the outlook is still uncertain, we remain positive on the medium to long-term fundamentals of the industry." This is the 16th consecutive year Korean Air has topped the list. Developed by Global Management Association (GMA) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, GCSI is an index to select the best corporation in each category. It compiles and evaluates customer satisfaction levels, global competitiveness and customer loyalty. Korean Air’s continuous efforts to differentiate its services and introduce eco-friendly aircraft have been recognized as the best by the industry since 2005. The airline has been strongly committed to improving customer experience; its recents efforts include launching baggage notification system, expanding self-check-in options and strengthening disinfection on its aircraft. Korean Air has also been actively reassuring passengers of a safe in-flight environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline maintains safe flights by thoroughly disinfecting all its aircraft. The airline carries out disinfection more often than the legal requirements. Domestic flights are disinfected more than once a week, and additional disinfection work is performed on all international flights arriving at Incheon International Airport and those departing from Incheon to the Americas. Meanwhile, Korean Air maintains the highest quality of cabin air on all its aircraft. HEPA filters installed in aircraft effectively remove nearly 100% of any particulate matter that may be present in the air. Moreover, cabin air on all Korean Air aircraft is designed to flow from ceiling to floor rather than from front to back, minimizing the spread of contaminants through the cabin. • 36. Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Lufthansa and Vereinigung Cockpit agree on package of short-term crisis measures through the end of the year For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 27 Lufthansa has concluded a short-term agreement with the pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) for initial measures to manage the coronavirus crisis. The measures apply to the pilots of Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa Aviation Training and some of the Germanwings pilots. The agreement includes cost reduction measures that will apply until the end of the year. Among other things, top-up payments for short time working compensation benefits and employer contributions to the pension scheme will be reduced from September onwards. Collective wage increases negotiated for 2020 will be postponed until January 2021. Lufthansa will refrain from implementing redundancies due to business operations for the pilots of Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa Aviation Training and certain of the Germanwings pilots until March 31, 2021. However, the significant overcapacity of pilots will last considerably beyond March 2021. The number of redundancies for operational reasons can therefore only be limited by concluding a long-term crisis agreement. In a long-term crisis package, the costs of the personnel surplus could, for example, be compensated for by a corresponding reduction in working hours and salary for the period of the crisis. At the same time, Lufthansa has announced that for all German flight operations, it will refrain from hiring new pilots from outside the Group as long as there is an overcapacity of cockpit staff. This will also apply to the cockpit staffing of tourist-oriented flight operations - which will be open to pilots from Sun Express Deutschland and the German base of Brussels Airlines who flew tourist routes during the past few years. The PCO is a new service professional role that works closely with doctors, nurses and allied health staff to provide quality care service, caregiving and end-to-end care coordination for patients in the ward. SIA will create the programme in collaboration with KTPH and tailor it for the healthcare institution’s requirements. The Airline’s cabin crew trainers will conduct a three-day course, which will be part of the 20-day overall training curriculum for the PCOs. During the three days, they will receive training in effective interpersonal communication and customer handling, and learn how to exemplify values such as empathy, warmth and person-centred care. This is the first time that SIA is extending its training and development services outside the organisation. agreements cement the spirit of cooperation between SIAand KTPH, which began in April 2020 when the Airline’s first Care Ambassadors began to support the care teams in the hospital. To date, 60 Care Ambassadors from the SIA Group have been deployed to KTPH. SIA and KTPH are also exploring other potential areas of collaboration beyond the service sector. This includes the possible application of SIA’s crew resource management practices – a wide range of skills that are used to enhance flight safety and reduce human error – to KTPH’s operations. Miscellaneous Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Nippon Express USA acquires GDP certification for Chicago warehouse For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 34 Nippon Express USA, Inc. a subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. has recently set up NEX Pharma Solutions-Chicago, a temperature-controlled facility specializing in medical and pharmaceutical products, within its warehouse located near Chicago O'Hare Airport and obtained GDP certification for the facility, which began operations on Tuesday, September 1. The US Midwest (including Chicago) and Northeast are home to numerous pharmaceutical and medical equipment businesses, and these regions are expected to see rising demand for related logistics services. NEUSA's Chicago location is its largest air cargo hub, a gateway that operates regular shuttle trucks to transport cargo arriving at Chicago O'Hare Airport to company locations in other Midwestern states for delivery as early as the following morning. NEUSA on September 1 completed the procedures necessary to make subsidiaries out of MD Logistics LLC and MD Express LLC, two US logistics companies specializing in logistics functions for medical and pharmaceutical products. These companies have four warehouses in neighboring Indiana as well as one in Nevada that offer storage, distribution processing and nationwide delivery services, and connecting these to the newly upgraded Chicago hub will make it possible to link these warehouses to overseas operations while still maintaining the transport quality appropriate for medical and pharmaceutical products. Strict compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and other quality standards is required worldwide when handing pharmaceuticals, and customers are demanding increasingly higher quality standards for temperature control during transport/storage. The new NEX Pharma Solutions-Chicago will enable NEUSA to provide safe and high-quality temperature-controlled transport services and to meet customer needs with GDP-compliant facilities and operating frameworks.
