Case
Conceptualization
• Sharon is a 9 year-old Caucasian girl that lives with her parents and 2
younger siblings. Client is currently in the fourth grade is performing
at an average level without any special accommodations.
Demographics
• The case was conceptualized based on information that had been
gathered during the initial intake interview, rapport building,
documentations from previous sessions, previous medical reports,
school reports, collateral data from the parents, and other records from
the clients past.
• The collected data was thoroughly analyzed and with the results, types
and forms of behavioral therapies and theoretical interventions were
compiled into a treatment plan to assist the client as well as her family
with healing from the traumatic event.
Case Conceptualization
• Based on the presenting problem of the client, the following
theoretical therapies and interventions were decided upon.
– Narrative therapy-for parents and child (Newsome & Gladding, 2014, p. 272).
– Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy-for individual therapy
– Familial-therapy-for the entire family to be involved in the healing process
(Newsome & Gladding, 2014, p. 274).
– Group therapy for the client (Henderson & Thompson, 2016, p. 417).
