John Lennon was a British musician and founding member of The Beatles, the most commercially successful band in history. He was born in 1940 in Liverpool, England and was killed by a fan in 1980. As a child, Lennon struggled in school but showed artistic talent, and he met Paul McCartney in 1957 leading to their iconic songwriting partnership.
