6. SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
Cough
Sputum
Fever
fatigue
Loss of appetite
Weight lost
 Night sweats
 Shortness of breath

7.  cough for more than 3 weeks
 chest pain
pain with breathing or coughing
Blood in sputum

8. DIAGNOSE
 Monteux tuberculin test
 Blood test
Chest X-ray
Sputum Examination
(CT) scans

9. TREATMENT
Treatment is the most important preventive
measure.
Initial Phase (2 months)
1) Rifampicin.
2) Isoniazid.
3) Pyrazinamide.
4) Ethambutol.
Continuation Phase (4-6 months)
1) Rifampicin.
2) Isoniazid.
3) Ethambutol

10. PREVENTION
 There is a vaccine available for tuberculosis
called the BCG(Bacillus Calmette and Guerin)
vaccine.
