Universe?

 Earth is the smallest part of the Solar system
and the solar system is only a small part of
the vast universe

3. The Universe and the Milky way
Universe
All of the space and everything in it is called
Universe.
The Universe has millions of Galaxies but most
of the Universe is empty space.
 Galaxy
A galaxy is a system of dust, gas, and many
millions of stars held together by gravity.

7. We live in the milky galaxy. It is shaped like a
flat spiral. Other galaxies have different
shapes.
Our sun is located near the edge of our
galaxy. It is one of the billions of stars in the
milky way.

8. Astronomy
The study of the Sun, Moon, stars, and other objects in
the space is called astronomy.
People have always watched objects in the sky. The
Egyptian, Arabs, chines and other earlier civilizations
were the people who used the principles of astronomy
to decide when they should plants or harvest crops.
Sailors on the open sea did not have landmarks to tell
them where they were. So they have used Sun and
stars.

The solar system include the Sun, the
planets, their Moons, dwarf planet,
asteroid, and other object that orbit the
Sun.
All object in the solar system revolves
around the Sun. Each object in the solar
system moves in a path or orbit around
the Sun

orbit.
Planets tend to move in straight line but the gravitational pull
affect it motion as a result the planets and other objects in the
solar system move in curved paths around the Sun.
Astronomers have discovered other planets in orbit around
other stars. So it is possible there are other solar systems
besides ours

Our Sun is a medium star. It’s the largest body in the solar
system.
Like all stars the Sun is a hot ball of hot glowing gases. The
sun provides light as well as heat to the life on the Earth.
The outer part of the Sun is much cooler than the inner
part.
Scientists estimate that outer part of the is about 5,500C.
They think that the inner core is as hot as 15,000,000C
