CURRICULUM
Pre-Prep Curriculum




There are no changes to the curriculum
Pre-Prep Curriculum

• Senior teachers continue to meet regularly to ensure
  consistency across both sites

• Teaching objectives remain the same although
  different teaching tools may be employed

• Additional support will continue to be provided for
  pupils who require it

• The teaching of French and Spanish at KS1 is under
  review.
Prep Curriculum

• More Teaching by specialists
  – Drama, Music, Languages, DT, ICT

• Spanish will be introduced in Y5 and Y6

• More access to specialist facilities
  – e.g. Y5 and Y6 will study Food Technology
    as part of their DT curriculum.

THE TRANSITION PLAN
Restructure

          Transition Plan - Pupils

• The transition timeline has changed to meet
  the needs of the parents.

• Current Haresfoot Y2 Y3, and Y4 pupils will
  now be moving to Berkhamsted Prep in
  September 2013
Meeting the Needs of Every Pupil

• Pupils will be placed in classes with their friends.

• Pupils will meet their teachers in June for a
  familiarisation afternoon.

• Additional support will be provided for pupils who
  require it.

• Linked activities are already taking place and new
  events are planned for the summer.

• The Y3 joint trip to Roald Dahl Museum was successful
  and pupils enjoyed the opportunity to make new friends.

  • 31. Berkhamsted Pre-Prep Outdoor Classroom We plan to put a Glass House at Haresfoot as part of our outdoor classroom project. The Berkhamsted Foundation are raising funds for this project.

Pre-Prep Curriculum • Senior teachers continue to meet regularly to ensure consistency across both sites • Teaching objectives remain the same although different teaching tools may be employed • Additional support will continue to be provided for pupils who require it • The teaching of French and Spanish at KS1 is under review.
  • 38. Prep Curriculum • More Teaching by specialists – Drama, Music, Languages, DT, ICT • Spanish will be introduced in Y5 and Y6 • More access to specialist facilities – e.g. Y5 and Y6 will study Food Technology as part of their DT curriculum.
  • 40. Restructure Transition Plan - Pupils • The transition timeline has changed to meet the needs of the parents. • Current Haresfoot Y2 Y3, and Y4 pupils will now be moving to Berkhamsted Prep in September 2013

Meeting the Needs of Every Pupil • Pupils will be placed in classes with their friends. • Pupils will meet their teachers in June for a familiarisation afternoon. • Additional support will be provided for pupils who require it. • Linked activities are already taking place and new events are planned for the summer. • The Y3 joint trip to Roald Dahl Museum was successful and pupils enjoyed the opportunity to make new friends.
