SOIL - TECHNICIAN
RESPONSIBILITIES :
 Communication with office and on-site personnel about schedule, testing, and results
 Preparation and submittal of written field reports summarizing daily
activities/observations and density test calculations and results
 Perform soil compaction/density testing on multiple projects in accordance with ASTM
and project specifications
QUALIFICATIONS :
 High school diploma or equivalent
 ACI certification (concrete sampling and field testing) required
 Minimum of 3+ years experience in soils testing
 Experience in soil compaction testing required (Familiar with : Soil Quality Test, Triaxial
Test, Atterberg Limit, Sand Cone, Proctor, CBR, DCP, Soil Laboratory Tools & Tester)
 Good verbal and written communication skills
 Ability to perform simple math calculations associated with soil compaction/density
testing and standard Proctors
 Timeliness is essential
 Must be able to evaluate soil subgrade prior to placement of fill and perform standard
soil Proctor and moisture checks
 Must be able to read and understand site grading drawings
Preferred Qualifications :
 NICET certification preferred but not required
 Experience in sampling and testing of concrete also desired
 Experience in other areas such as proofrolls, fireproofing, roofing, asphalt, structural
steel, reinforcing steel, and foundation inspections would be an added value, but is not
required
Physical Demands :
 Ability to lift up to 20-Kg or more and work in a field environment with prolonged
periods standing, bending and walking
