network in center of the capital city Algiers, like submitting master plans for the general optimization in Alger to

Manage drive tests (i.e. indicate routes, setup routine drive tests, follow up Radio engineers, etc..),

and if needed, performs critical drive tests, GPRS drive test (four main tests which are: Ping
Test/Round Trip Time (RTT),GPRS Attach and PDP Context Activation, FTP Throughput, Cell re-
selection and Inter SGSN Routing Area Update).

Contact with customer care department, not directly but through department coordination section,

GPRS radio network performance: Participated in This GPRS Audit which was performed in the
o
ATM GSM network during August 2005 in the city of Algiers. The scope of this is to give as
detailed review as possible of the GPRS radio network performance with the available data sources
and also to provide recommendations for the GPRS performances improvement and for the nearby
introduction of EDGE in the network. In this Audit the data used as a base for the analysis was
parameter printouts, BSC STS statistics and TEMS Investigation drive test.
The approach used in this project is based on different problem types that can be expected to show
up in a GPRS radio network. The used grouping of different problem areas is:
• Capacity problems: This includes capacity problems in the BSS, e.g. PDCHs
resources available for GPRS, RPP capacity, GSL devices usage etc.
• Interference problems: This includes how interference reduces performance for
users, i.e. low throughput, difficulties with decoding system information etc.
• Mobility problems : This includes how mobility reduces performance for users,
mainly by outages in the data transfer and it’s effect on the TCP protocol.
