• One of the problems in the world of education
lies in the issue of the curriculum. Teachers still
apply the approaches and learning strategies of
the previous curriculum or Non-Curriculum
2013. Therefore, teachers who still do not know
the approaches and strategies of learning the
2013 curriculum, the result is that the quality
development of students is less than
optimal.

THE SCIENTIFIC APPROACH
The scientific approach is a learning process designed in such a way that
students actively construct concepts, laws or principles through the stages of
observing (to identify or find problems), formulate problems, propose or
formulate hypotheses, collect data with various techniques, analyze data ,
draw conclusions and communicate the concepts, laws or principles found.
Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) LESSON
This scientific learning approach can be applied in all subjects including
PAI subjects. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is one of three subjects
that must be included in the curriculum of every Indonesian formal
education institution.

15. The application of the Scientific Approach in PAI lessons at MTs Al-
Qodiri 1 Jember through the stages of the scientific approach such as
observing, asking questions, seeking information, reasoning and
communicating has been carried out well.
The implementation of learning with a scientific approach in PAI
lessons at MTs Al-Qodiri 1 Jember is divided into three parts, namely
preliminary activities, core activities, and closing activities. Learning
with a scientific approach with core activities covering observing,
asking questions, looking for information/reasoning, communicating,
and making general conclusions in sufficient categories.
The Evaluation of learning with a scientific approach in PAI lessons at
MTs Al-Qodiri 1 Jember is not only theoretical or cognitive aspects but
also affective and psychomotor aspects.
