2. A02 Micro-Analysis - Overview
The micro-analysis of the scene will be based upon a selected ļ¬ve minute
extract, which you should state the start and ļ¬nish time of your scene (20:00 -
25:00). When analysing this scene you will be focusing on the use of
cinematography and the mise-en-scene and what meaning these elements
create for the audience? ONLY focus on these two elements when
completing your analysis.
The analysis should be between 500 ā 750 words.
Below are some keys areas to consider for each of the micro elements:
Cinematography
ā¢ What is the camera shot? W/S, M/S, C/U, BC/U, OS, P.O.V, 2 shot, Cutaway.
ā¢ What is the position of the camera and what is it conveying? high angle, low angle,
aerial shot, on eyeline.
ā¢ How and why is the camera moving? Tracking, jib, steadicam, hand-held, trombone,
arc.
Mise-en-scene
Consider how these elements are represented and how they change
between the grid and the real world?
Location, costume (for both of these consider the use of colour and what it
suggests), props, lighting, character movement.
NOTES

3. Introduction to Tron Legacy
The ļ¬lm is a sequel to the 1982 ļ¬lm Tron. The story
follows the son of the original ļ¬lmās character Flynn trying
to ļ¬nd his father who has been missing for twenty years
years being digitally transferred to the grid (an online
world). At this point in the ļ¬lm - he has been given a tip to
where Flynn is, so he heads back home to his fatherās
