HAMILTON COUNTY
Capacity and Speed Enhancements Made to Local Mobile Network
CINCINNATI (Feb. 2, 2016) — AT&T* is has upgraded its wireless network within Hamilton
County with more than 50 enhancements during 2015. The improvements include adding
greater capacity and speeds to cell sites in the area. Across Ohio in 2015, AT&T made more
than 680 upgrades to its wireless network.
People using the AT&T wireless network in Hamilton County now enjoy more than 20 local
cell sites with increased capacity. That’s thanks to added layers of frequency known as
“carriers.” AT&T also expanded the band of radio frequencies used on more than two dozen
towers. That increases speeds.
"Hamilton County needs continued mobile Internet investment to support our residents
and businesses who depend on quick and efficient communications in our fast-paced
world,” said State Representative Lou Terhar. “Improved Internet access is important for
our regional economic development and it continues to be a priority to support innovation
and expansion. AT&T is to be commended for their investment in mobile Internet
technology in Hamilton County.”
