2. CONCERN
• Global warming is no longer a myth. It has started
to affect our daily life. Hot summer in last year
was a reminder of this climate change.
• Using Air Conditioner is a common method to
provide comfort condition during summer, but
since they emit heat in to the atmosphere, it
causes further rise in the temperature.
• In this scenario, we have to rethink our way of
living and our buildings. Otherwise we can’t
adapt to the climate change in the future.
6. How are our buildings built?
• Are they adaptable to climate change in future..?
• Are they constructed using appropriate
material..?
• Do the design and construction process use latest
technology..?
• Does the building form help in providing comfort
conditions during extreme climates..?
7. AIM
• To provide comfortable living conditions
throughout a year by designing buildings that will
adapt to climate changes in future.
• To make buildings sustainable or net zero carbon
emission, thus reducing heat emission.
• To explore eco-friendly materials and
construction methods.
8. Objective
• To design 2-3 building typologies of different
scales that will provide comfort conditions
throughout the year in future.
• To design climate responsive architectural
elements using computation.
• To incorporate the values like energy modeling,
passive thermal cooling etc. in early stages of
design.
