3. Introduction to Flowcharting
A Flowchart is a type of a diagram that
represents an algorithm, workflow or
process, showing the steps as boxes of
various kinds, and their order by connecting
them with arrows. This diagrammatic
representation illustrates a solution model
to a given problem.
Flowcharts are used in analyzing,
designing, documenting or managing a
process or program in various fields.

17. AREA 2
Unnecessary and excess Paperwork.
o The University uses a lot of paperwork and
loads of time is wasted in filling up of the
same application form nearly 3 times.
o Not only the application form in itself a 30
page long leaflet, the University demands a
further long procedure of filling up of even
more forms- some even the repetitive ones.
18. AREA 3
Poor Lodging Facilities
o The University allots two specific hostels
each year for the lodging facility of the
parents and the students who arrive here
for the counselling procedure.
o Not only the parents face inconvenience,
the 2nd
and 3rd
year students whose hostels
are used as guest houses who come after
the summer break also face high
inconvenience during the counselling
procedure.
20. Solution to Trouble Spot Area 1
Instead of using IT centre, our university
can set AIM and ACT department as its
counselling centre.
As this building is not only at walking
distance from the guest house zone but
also highly digitally equipped.
RESULT:RESULT:
o Parents and students don’t have to
cover long distances and makes the
counselling procedure more amicable.
21. Solution to Trouble Spot Area 2
The entire system of filling up of forms and
written details should be digitalised.
The data regarding consisting of students
mark-sheets and certificates should be
scanned copies and uploaded on the
universities server, for further references.
RESULTRESULT:
o Not only is this environmental friendly but
decreases a lot of paperwork and
preservation of important details.
22. Solution to Trouble Spot Area 3
University should invest in the construction of
separate guest house with the facility of basic
things such as pillows and covers and
ventilation facilities.
RESULT:RESULT:
o Not only will this give a good first impression
but the 2nd
and 3rd
year students will not be left
stranded for the while.
o The guest house can also be utilised by the 4th
year training students during the non-
counselling period and their placement period.
23. Lessons Learned
“If you can't describe what
you are doing as a process,
you don't know what you're
doing.”
W. Edwards Deming
