A current event that has sparked a revolution, is the NFL players, such as Colin Kaepernick, kneeling for the national anthem. They are trying to protest
awareness of racial discrimination and cruel treatment from police. Dallas Cowboys coach Jerry Jones announced that if one of his players protest

Many people believe it is a threat given to the people especially the White House and therefore they put up there guards and start taking things

The decision, made by Colin Kaepernick and a handful of other NFL players, to kneel or sit down during the playing of the American Nation Anthem
is an immature and disrespectful gesture to this country and to our flag. There are better more respectful ways to protest and put out word about your
cause. While it is our first amendment right to not stand up for the National Anthem, it is my opinion that kneeling for the flag shows disrespect for this
country, our armed forces, and the flag itself.
The flag has a section of code in the U.S. law books called the flag code. This was adopted on June 14, 1923, by the National Flag Conference which
Navy and Army representatives attended. Title 4 chapter 1 section 9 states, "All other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with

so by standing for the pledge of allegiance or star spangled banner. We say thank you to our war heroes or we go and visit them and listen to their

The supreme court ruling regarding the destruction of the American flag decided it was legal because it was an expression of an opinion. Gregory Lee
Johnson burned the American Flag publicly at the 1984 Republican Convention to protest Ronald Reagan's policies – he was "charged with violating a
Texas statute that prevented the desecration of a venerated object, including the American flag, if such action were likely to incite anger in others",
however, the court ruled in Johnson's favor (United States Courts, n.d.). Many witnesses were offended but the burning flag did not physically harm
anyone or put anyone in danger, further backing up Johnson with the First Amendment's freedom of (symbolic) speech. Lee and the fellow protesters
pointed out things such as anti–war and anti–nuclear weapons (wiki, n.d.). Many other protesters participated in physical protest like vandalism and
graffiti, and while these may seem like considerably worse acts than burning a flag, no one was charged but Lee. Originally, "he was convicted,
sentenced to one year in prison, and fined $2,000" (Legal Information Institute, n.d.) – specifically, he was convicted for desecrating a flag in violation

In Breakfast of Champions, Vonnegut may be using a satiristic approach to criticize the United States of America. In the beginning, Vonnegut states,
"'Breakfast of Champions' is a registered trademark of General Mills, Inc., for use on a breakfast cereal product. The use of the identical expression
as the title for this book is not intended to indicate an association with or sponsorship by General Mills, nor is it intended to disparage their fine
products." (1) Originating from Wheaties, Vonnegut may be making fun of the company in a sarcastic tone, which states the tone for the rest of the
book. In his satire, Vonnegut refers to the people who did not receive anything (regarding money, or objects) as ones who have doodley
–squat, and the
humans in the proletariat class are often referred to machines, working for the bourgeoisie. In his novel, Vonnegut to get his point across about the
various problems in society, such as race issues, uneven distribution of money, societal norms, and chemical dependency through his use of allusions,
and symbols.
One of the major issues addressed in the satire, that Vonnegut may be criticizing, is the issue of race. Vonnegut is constantly conscious of race and
slavery. For example, he'll refer to the "white nurse", "white male adult" (91), the "black man" and the Vonnegut says things like, "the sea pirates who
