Targeting Teens with "Visions
1. Question 4
The audience we are aiming ‘Visions’ at is mid to late
teens and possibly early twenties, as many of the key
themes and ideas behind it are appealing to many
people of that age, according to our target research.
These themes and ideas include things such as death,
mental health, and paranoia. Unfortunately, these are
struggles that are faced by teens on a regular basis,
and seeing a fantasized and fictional piece of work
concerning the topics may provide some sort of
excitement and an ability to empathize with
characters.
Our film ‘Visions’ is also targeted at some fans of the
horror genre as it builds suspense in a similar way
and deals with many similar themes as horrors do,
such as psychosis. This increase in audience would
increase the money it would pull at the box office
also, and this would obviously appease production
companies that have backed the film.
‘Visions’ is not directed at a certainsubculture of
society, it is instead a film that is designed to be
appealing to the largest possible audience. ‘Visions’,
however, is likelyto be enjoyed by professional film
critics as wellas people who are just along for the
ride as the story is intriguing yet rather easy to
understand.
