3. The idea: changes and reasons
Our idea for our OTS drastically changed after our first draft, as we took a whole different
direction with it.
Our first draft was supposed to be a slasher, but ended up as more of a thriller. Due to this, we
decided to make the OTS paranormal: ghosts and spirits, as we knew how to do that better than
a slasher.
Our Draft two was a step in the right direction, as the storyline is much better and the shots and
camera work are all more impressive.
We received feedback on this draft. This feedback gave us some tips to improve our OTS, which
included more cinematic shots, more tension building music and sound, and a few small storyline
changes.
4. Timeline for final draft
1. Cinematic shots (Including: Tap dripping, family pictures, chandelier swinging).
2. Establishing shot of protagonist (Marcus) in bed asleep.
3. Whispers can be heard (nightmare).
4. Slow zoom in on Marcus’ face asleep.
5. Loud noise and he sits up quickly sits up, awake.
6. Slowly gets up and puts on slippers, checks the time (3 in the morning).
7. Gets out of bed and goes to the bathroom.
8. Walks into the bathroom and turns on the tap. Bends over to wash his face.
9. As he comes up, blood starts to fall onto his hands and into the sink. He reaches into his mouth, and pulls out a tooth. (Fast heartbeat and loud tense non diegetic
music at this point.
10. Looks up into the mirror, and sees his face is normal. Checks his teeth, all is fine. (Heartbeat slows and music gets quieter.
11. Hears a noise coming from downstairs, leaves the bathroom.
12. Goes downstairs and walks through into the living room. The TV is on, and there is ‘snow’ (Interference) on the screen. He turns it off and walks away.
13. He walks away, but as he turns his back on the TV it comes on again, louder than before. Marcus grabs the remote and turns the TV off again shakily (Loud heartbeats
and music comes back)
14. He puts down the remote, but there is a noise behind him. Quickly turns around, the sofa is turned over. All around him, draws open, things fall on the floor.
15. He goes to leave, the radio turns on playing fast classical piano music.
16. Marcus stands in the living room, He is panicking and getting scared, the camera goes around him 360 showing him rub his head.
17. He turns around and faces into the camera with a scared look on his face and there is a loud noise as the screen goes black.

6. Script
The script has changed drastically since our first draft and only slightly from our second.
7. Location Planning
We have decided to use the same location in our final draft as we have used in our second draft,
as we believe it has everything in it that we need to make our OTS effective.
We have changed nothing about the location, only the order in which we see the different
rooms.
The location we are using has a sizeable bathroom, which is good as we need this for one of our
most important scenes.
8. Costume/Props/Make up Planning
We are making some slight adjustments to our make up costume and props in our final draft.
For one, we will no longer be using the demon at the end, so that costume will not be needed.
We are also not having the scene where Marcus is possessed, so we will not need the make up
that we used to make it seem as if he had been possessed.
We will be re using the teeth and the blood in our final draft, as we feel that these worked
effectively.
