COURSE OUTCOMES:
At the end of the module, students should be able to:-
1. Identify residential building formwork requirement.
2. Fabricate formwork members.
3. Set out formwork alignment.
4. Carry out formwork installation.
5. Coordinate formwork inspection.
6. Dismantle formwork member (after concreting has matured).
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Residential building formwork is the addition of base materials and concrete contained within retaining walls to use as a slab for
construction of homes, businesses, and other buildings. The importance of the formwork specification for concrete is based on
strength and durability.
The person who is competent in residential building formwork shall be able to identify residential building formwork requirement,
fabricate formwork members, set out formwork alignment, carry out formwork installation, coordinate formwork Inspection and
dismantle formwork member (after concreting has matured).
The outcome of this competency is to install a stable formwork to be able to hold the wet concrete in the correct position in
accordance with the approved construction drawing specification.
