1. Presenting Research Findings
Most of my research is secondary research. I used the
Internet a lot to watch trailers and read the comments. I
mostly used YOUTUBE and IMDB because I could watch
trailers on there and read some comments and reviews. This
really helped because I could see from the comments what
they didn’t like and what they thought was interesting and I
took that into consideration for when I make my trailer.
YOUTUBE is also helpful because I could see how many
people viewed the trailer and how many liked or disliked the
trailer. I decided what was relevant and what wasn’t by
checking does it fit in with the genre signifier.
I stored all the information in the BLOG. For every bit of
work I done I had it categorised. What trailer I watched and I
would put the link of the trailer. What type of research I
used for example secondary research and used the Internet.
This also helped me because my work was more organised
and I wouldn’t loose my work. When I had it categorised it
was better because I could see the websites I used if I
needed to go back and check the information. Categorising
also helped because my work was easier to access for both
my and my teacher.
I also discovered that in most horror films that they are
mostly in locations where they can’t get help or in a location
where help wont come straight away, that’s why I decided to
do my horror movie trailer in a apartment. In some horror
films I found out that the good looking, more sexually active
girl gets killed first. The narrative always started showing
how happy they are. I found out that the target audience is
either 15+ or 18+, the more gore scenes that show stuff
happening is 18+ this helped me understand more about
horror movie genre signifiers. Males and females at 18-29

2. gave most reviews on IMDB which means 18-29 year olds
watched the trailer the most.
I found the questionnaire really useful, from the
questionnaire I found out where most people watch their
movie trailers, I also found out what genre is mostly
watched and enjoyed. I also found out how many trailers a
week some people in my age group watch. My findings will
help me because I will know if people will enjoy and watch
the genre I have chosen for my movie trailer.
