1. In what ways does my media
product, use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions
of real media products?
2. Masthead
• As you can see my magazine front cover
has a masthead this means I am using a
common convention from magazine
covers. My masthead
3. Main image
• As you can see my magazine also has a
main image which is very common on
music magazines this again is evidence of
me using common conventions
My main image
4. Strap Lines
• My magazine has two strap lines on the
bottom and the top of the cover and this is
commonly used on many magazines.
Both straplines
5. Page numbers on contents page
• When people open a magazine they want
to know what page to go in order to find
what they want. My magazine contents
page has this feature.
Page numbers
6. Barcode
• All magazines have barcodes in similar
positions and mine is no different and
therefore I am using common magazine
publication practise.

magazine cover
7. Iconography
• As you can see by looking at the images
below I have used iconography associated
with Rock music.
Guitars are
associated with rock
music
8. • I do not think I have challenged any
common magazine practises. It is the
practises I have used that make my media
product look more proffessional because it
was made in the style of other magazines
I have looked at.
