Working Title:
Mason(Teaser Trailer + poster)
Product’s Purpose:
The trailers purpose is to advertise a movie which is simply to entertain people of a specific
audience(people who are into horror).
Genre:
It is a trailer for a superhero/horror movie. The film is about a boy called Mason who is gifted with
special powers such as super strength and the ability to build up all his anger and strength and
shoot it out of his body as energy. But we will not be able to show this in the trailer due to
budgetary reasons. I want to embrace the horror aspect of the movie as much as necessary.
Content
The trailer would show a collection of shots from scenes of the film whilst a slowed down version of
Pumped Up Kicks would be playing. I chose this song specifically because of the creepy meaning
and nature behind the song, it would be creepy to hear the song slowed down and even creepier
to hear the song slowed down and will make the trailer even scarier. This will really get the
audience into seeing the movie.
Research & Planning
I will research other horror movie trailers to figure out what my trailer will be like in terms of pacing,
camera work, music and what else to include. I will use YouTube to search these trailers and I will
carefully examine them. Good examples to research are the trailers for New Mutants, Brightburn
and Overlord as all of these are at least similar to horror in some ways.
Audience:
The audience for this film is going to be from 15-35. (I will add a creepy atmosphere, some creepy
scenes and possibly blood into the trailer to appeal to this audience)
The gender is male but not specifically aimed at this gender. To appeal to this gender I will include
mostly male characters in the trailer.
The psychographic for the product is needs driven. (Act upon pulse and instinct). I will include
subjects to help appeal to this psychographic, like the main character (Mason) acting with a target
but without thinking about what the outcome of it might be.
Social status will be second class. I will include certain subjects/locations to appeal to this
audience, like underground tunnels and averagely priced houses.
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
My product will not include any offensive material but may include some uncomfortable/creepy
scenes including some horror which could frighten those of a younger age.
The product will have a minimum age rating of 15+
The product will have nothing to do with religion, ethnicities or social groups.
I will run through the product when it is finished and ensure it has no offensive material in it.
I am using original characters and logos. I may be using an existing song for 30 seconds but I will
have edited it so it sound different.
My product will be its own unique thing and will be different from other products.
