A B S T R A C T
The Hospitals play an important one role in analyzing, giving and avoiding several diseases, illness, and injuries, physical and mental impairments in humans in
the market management practice. The maintenance is basically is a delivered by practitioners of health care either in primary, and secondary or tertiary levels in
marketing practice. Primary care is the health care organization where the patient collects uninteresting casualty care at first communication. At tertiary health
care classification, health care center has highly trained authorities and often innovative technology coping up to carry out complex procedures. The health
care sector of any country be contingent on socio economic development and the government's priority for the same. The house hold expenditure on secluded
healthcare is more than on municipal expenditure. Gujarat is also growing fast in economic change. Due to enlarged competition, service quality is becoming
very important of the corporate hospital services.

1. Introduction
The Hospital is an exceptional service engineeringwhere the service delivery comprises high level of internal andexternal customercommunication. Hospital
services are massivelylabor intensive, capital intensiveandprocess intensive. Operations in Hospitals are essentiallythe continuous interactionbetween the
service workers andendpatients like patients andbye standers. Hospitals play animportant role in diagnosing, treatingandavoidingseveral diseases, illness,
andinjuries, physical andmental damages in humans in the corporate hospitals. The care is basically deliveredby consultants of healthcareeither in primary,
secondary or tertiaryechelons. Primarycare is the health care systemwhere theeasygoingreceives monotonous outpatient careat first contact.At secondary
health care system,the behavior is provided by specialists to whom a patient has been referred by primary care facilities. At tertiary health care
system, health care center has highly trainedwhizzes andoften innovativetechnology copingup to carryout complex procedures. Thehealthiness care
sector of any country depends on socio monetaryprogress andthe government's priorityfor thesame.Since India has followedthe mixedeconomy the health
care sector also has mixedcontribution.Thehouse holdexpenditure onremote healthcare is more thanonpublic expenditure. Gujarat is also growingfast in
economicgrowth. Due toincreasedcompetition, service qualityis becomingidentical important forthe corporate hospitals.
Accordingto National Family Health Survey-3,the privatemedical sectorremains the primaryfoundationof health care for70% ofménages in urban areas
and 63% of houses in rural areas. Reliance on public and private health care subdivision varies meaningfully between states. Several reasons are cited for
trustingonprivateratherthanpublic sector, themain purpose at the national level is underprivilegedeminenceofcarein the public sector,withsupplementary
than 57% of households pointingtothis as the motivefor a predilection forprivate healthcare.The study showedby IMSInstitute for Healthcare Informatics
in 2013, across 12 states in over 14,000 households indicateda steady intensificationin the usage of private healthcare facilities overthelast 25 years
for both Out EnduringandIn Patient services, transverselyrural andurban areas.

2. Statement of the Problem
The Corporate hospitals expanded in the eighties disastrous because they appeared in isolation and weren’t part of a large healthcare phenomenon. The
impetus behindthis is faulty approach that’s done in manycommunal hospitals. Things comparable a lowoperation theatre tobeds ratio, focusingon the
interval of stay rather than patient turn around and even superfluous soundings to intensification revenue have caused hospitals to nosedive. These are
upgraded performance of corporate hospitals, better utilization of medical equipment, and improved satisfaction of target market and establishment of
vigorous society. Healthcare marketing is a managerial device that enables design, positioning, pricing and promotion of value-added services with
Healthcare in India is changingrapidly.
As a matter of fact, theapplicationof promotionprinciples has not extendedits true buddingandis in its nascent stage in most ofthe communal hospitals6.
Many of the corporate hospitals are unaware of result orientedmarketingplans andstrategies, which will ensure eminenceandinterest greater numberof
patients Despite several disparagements on healthcare disseminationit has numerous advantages for mutual hospitals, patients andinturn forsociety.Behind
the scenes of this transformation several powerful trends are at work: the rise of patient as consumer, summaryof innovative technologies anda newbreed
of commercial competences in the corporatehospitals. It is this trio of forces pavingway formarketplace driven healthcare. The ascension of managedcare
has been generatedby the entryof communal hospitals with multicore undresses all of which have been observingfor ways to capture flea bazaar share,
expandthe patient appointees andensure subsistencein unescapable war.
3. Need For the Study
The healthcare marketingyet hadnot acknowledgedattentionfromscholars,procedure makers andothers. As a result verylittle is known about importance
and scope of marketing in healthcare industry Indistinguishable few attempts have been completed to research into the marketing characteristics of the
sickbays. Now-a-days corporate hospitals are playing a vital role in the pitch of healthcare by providing world class knowledge10. Many corporate
sanatoriums have emergedduringthe recent time to offeradvancedmedical technology tothe people. Medical care was treatedas a manufacturingin the
year 1984. Fromthen it became possible toget longtermfundingfromthefinancial establishments11. The management also reducedtheimport duty on
medical paraphernalia andknowledge, thus openingup thesector.
Commercial hospitals need to use marketing as challenging weapon to forge economical edge over their rivals and have to attract more numeral of
customers12. But sundryperceive publicizingas retailingwhat they have. Withthis notion many ofthe corporate sanatoriums are relying on the referral
market and unethical practices to achievefinancial viability. G.D. Sunders in his book “Howto market your hospital without sellingyour philosophy”
stressed the importance of publicizing in hospitals. Also things are changing; there are people who think that introducing marketing in hospitals is an
aberration which is undignified the healthcare business. Be that as it may, a growing number of hospitals now have fully fledged marketing department
which have brought into procedure some of the most self-motivated and result oriented marketing plans and strategies”. Today’s bazaar has become
purchaser drivenandhealthcare is no stipend.
After liberalization, socio-economic changes such as rise of literacy rate, higher levels of income and increasing awareness through deep penetration of
propagationcontributedtobigger considerationbeingpaidtohealth.Thesuccess of corporate hospitals require definite action planfor promotingandshared
assimilatedcompendium of service areapresentedto the people.
The study challenges to fill the gapin the knowledge of marketingpractices to be adoptedinmanagingthe elements ofmarketingmix by corporate hospitals.
The study explores the ways and means of cooperative, promoting and delivering high eminence medical care at a cost that peop le can afford. It is a
considerationinto thecurrent observes, possible reforms, andthe possibilityof assembly marketinggoal oriented.

1) Marketing positioning of corporate hospitals is unending related to volume of investment.
2) The higher the volume ofinvestment culturedis the marketingpositioning.
3) Marketingorientationof corporate hospices is directlyrelatedtopackage assemblage offered.

6. Scope and Methodology
However the researcher requirements to covertheperfect healthcare industry,its orientationtowards marketingfor arriving at meaningful conclusions, due
to scantiness of time and supplementary constraints the researcher has categorical to limit his area of study to marketing managing observes of corporate
hospitals in Tamil NaduState only. Thestudy is primarilyof descriptivelandscape but a set of arithmetic tools havebeen permittedtomake the homework
analyticalandtries toevaluatethe marketing mixofcorporate hospitals. Ingeneral,probability samplingmethodbesides in specific, stratifiedrandomanalyst
technique has been adoptedtoselect theillustration. The study confidential the corporate sanatoriums into two strata, based on form of legislative
setup. The academic selects an illustrationgivingdue standingfor bothcommunal limitedandprivate restrictedhospitals. The communal limitedsanatoriums
as per the dataavailable fromonly 18% ofcorporatesanatoriums.
7. Sources ofData
This study is founded on primary and secondary sources of data. Primarydatais collectedfrom the selectedcorporatehospitals by directinga structured
questionnaire. Theform comprises of various questions relatingtosocio- economic profile andpromotionmixof hospitals. The timingforadministeringthe
questionnaire was immovable by prior appointment with the hospital authorities.The authorities of corporatehospitals who respondedto the questionnaire
varied designation-wise from sanatorium to hospital Managing Directors, Public Relations Officers, Marketing Managers, Main of Hospitals and others.
Secondary data is collectedfrompapers, magazines,booklets, national dailies, publications andother orientation books.
8. Statistical Tools Usedand Perios of The Study
The primaryandsecondarydatawas collectedfor the determination of study anda series of arithmetical tools such as chi-square test, t-test,rankassociation
andpercentages are used. Apart fromthat tobrandstudy stimulatingandeducational pie diagrams, bar illustrations etc.,are used.
The study sketchily covers five years i.e. 2011-2019. The justification behind taking this period predominantly is due to the fact that in this period the
sanatoriumcommerce in India is flourishing. Separatelyfromthat,the Government of India is emphasizingon progress of tertiary hospital services through
impoundedsector.TheGovernment of India has as stretchedas many concessions forpromotionofHospital services in the Remote Sector. Duringthis period
many number of communal hospitals came into survival toprovide tertiarylevel quality medical care. Separately fromthat thereis an intensificationin the
better class andupper middle coursesegment that are lookingforquality medical care. Theincreasedalertness have made the municipal health unawareand
pavedthe way for development ofcompanysanatoriums.
9. Limitations of the Study
1) The existingwork is restrictedto private andpublic laughable hospitals in Tamil Nadu.
2) Hence, conclusions pinchedfromthis study may not be full to other thanthesehospitals.
3) The study results are mainlyresultant from theprimarydata. Therelative lengthof the questionnaire ensuedin non-responses for several items.
4) Evidence on some of these objects was available fromsecondarysources.
5) Hence, meticulousness in theconsequences mayhave lost.
6) The study devastatingto provide the list of infirmaries selectedfor assessment in order to reserve discretion.
10.Main Findings of the Study
1) Newsletters are out by 46% ofselectedcorporatehospitals. These hospitals arecoveringall items andnews about facilities, achievements,articles
on medicinal topics anddoctors andtheir knowledge with diminutive distinction.
2) Successes of hospitals is the first rankeditemfollowedby news about services, articles on medical topics andknowledge of doctors. 84% of the
defendants are conductingfreemedical camps. Of which 8% are accompanyingfree medical camps everymonth,

adoptingother ways which cannot be discovered.

11.Suggestions
1) Hospitals to experience recovering occupancy rate and net revenues need to understand patient population, accessibility of ph ysicians and
offerings of theirstruggle. Hospital marketingcan no longer be inadequate toadvertisingandpublic relations.
2) The most damagingfeature of corporatehospitals is they are caught in a “be better” trapsurfaces when they buildstrategies upona heritage of
associationprogrammers. These initiatives regularly accelerate the injuryofreasonable control completedcompetitors.
3) In the absence oftrue approaches that uniquely fulfil consumer needs, theycannot produce inexpensive edge. Corporate hospitals needto realize
that doingthings differentlyis more prevailingin the market place thandoingthings better. Findingyour customers andformingwhat theywill
want, before opponents do is nowimperative.
4) Cost effective services needtobe providingby developingcontrol on inter- relationship amongthe factors of planning, occupancy, homeopathic
decision anddisbursements. This requires extensivehumanrelations skills andthelesseningof measurement ofstayofinpatients in thehospitals.
5) Corporate hospitals needtodevelop a well-designedsystemto obtain immediatefeedbackabout the performance ofaccommodations andpeople.
A followup of patient satisfactionneedtobe assessedby developingandadministeringa structuredquestionnaire at the exit point of examination.
This makes hospitals realize dimness andloopholes in the systemprimary to consumer dissatisfaction.
6) Corporate sanatoriums needtomake pains to transfer stingofcompensatingthe bill fromthepatient to some faceless entity. Indianinsurance bill
coveredtheway for entryofprivate players intothe insurance sector. A large numberof players have already originatedtheir efforts tocatchthe
marketplace. Hospital tie-ups with insurance concerns whether or not will lead the fate in the future. Hence hospitals need to create integrated
system minglingservices andsupportinginstrument.
7) Hospitals may encourage their services for patients overseas. World-class treatment attached with low cost compared to advanced countries
would underwrite to market growth.
8) Health care service delivery is a cooperatingprocess between hospital personnel andcustomer. Corporate sanatoriums advertisingin particular
must personification not only on cheering purchaser to buy, but also on inspiring hospital workforces to interact in a responsive and hopeful
manner.
9) Health plan communications maybe providedby hospitals tofamily andcorporate. They needtodesign wide-ranginghealth planpackages but
not expensive. Health plan packages need to offer various services for the family andcorporate workforces.Thesehealthplanedifications
may increase the turnover ofthe sanatorium.
12.Conclusion
The corporate hospital entrepreneurs are qualifiedprofessionallyqualifiedandmotivatedindividuals beside medical professionals. But are lackingdecision-
makingandtechnical skills tomanage andmarket their healthcare services successfully. They endeavoredtogive a pictureof lowreturnon venture. Many
of the corporatehospitals restrictedtheir lineservices tosome dedicatedareas. Theyfailedto offer full range of services to the regulars. This subsidizedthe
oppositionin favorof large sanatoriums offeringfull assortment of services.
The study foreseen lackof medical andindicativeequipment tomeet the intensifyingdemandof health care andare linkingwith investigative centers. Of
course, this may not be true withlarge corporatehospitals which arefinancially soundenough to procure the latest medical equipment. Even though many
communal hospitals are intake positive attitude near hospital marketing, there is no isolatednominatedmarketingsubdivision in majorityof the hospitals.
This may be somewhat true with venerationtomonetarist strengthof thesanatorium.

Corporate hospitals larger in number failedin developinga comprehensive marketingprogrammerto strengthen the consumer base andensure cheaphealth
care to theregulars. They have designedado marketingplans just toweather in thehealthcare engineering. Theyhave not recognizedmarketingas a formal
function,eventhough they are practicing various marketing activities such as advertising, developingappointment network, public relationships
programmer etc. Marketingfunctionhas not been successfully combinedinto a consistent long-termstrategy.

Primary care is the health care organization where the patient collects uninteresting casualty care at first communication. Commercial hospitals need to use marketing as challenging weapon to forge economical edge over their rivals and have to attract more numeral of customers12. But sundryperceive publicizingas retailingwhat they have. Withthis notion many ofthe corporate sanatoriums are relying on the referral market and unethical practices to achievefinancial viability. Secondary data is collectedfrompapers, magazines,booklets, national dailies, publications andother orientation books. 8. Statistical Tools Usedand Perios of The Study The primaryandsecondarydatawas collectedfor the determination of study anda series of arithmetical tools such as chi-square test, t-test,rankassociation andpercentages are used. Apart fromthat tobrandstudy stimulatingandeducational pie diagrams, bar illustrations etc.,are used. The study sketchily covers five years i.e. 2011-2019. The justification behind taking this period predominantly is due to the fact that in this period the sanatoriumcommerce in India is flourishing. Separatelyfromthat,the Government of India is emphasizingon progress of tertiary hospital services through impoundedsector.TheGovernment of India has as stretchedas many concessions forpromotionofHospital services in the Remote Sector. Duringthis period many number of communal hospitals came into survival toprovide tertiarylevel quality medical care. Separately fromthat thereis an intensificationin the better class andupper middle coursesegment that are lookingforquality medical care. Theincreasedalertness have made the municipal health unawareand pavedthe way for development ofcompanysanatoriums. 9. Limitations of the Study 1) The existingwork is restrictedto private andpublic laughable hospitals in Tamil Nadu. 2) Hence, conclusions pinchedfromthis study may not be full to other thanthesehospitals.

Many of the corporatehospitals restrictedtheir lineservices tosome dedicatedareas. Theyfailedto offer full range of services to the regulars. This subsidizedthe oppositionin favorof large sanatoriums offeringfull assortment of services. The study foreseen lackof medical andindicativeequipment tomeet the intensifyingdemandof health care andare linkingwith investigative centers. Of course, this may not be true withlarge corporatehospitals which arefinancially soundenough to procure the latest medical equipment. Even though many communal hospitals are intake positive attitude near hospital marketing, there is no isolatednominatedmarketingsubdivision in majorityof the hospitals.
