2. ANALYZE THE LEARNER
This class is about learning to add and subtract and
how they will utilize this simple task in their daily
lives. There are different learning styles in my
classroom, so we will be doing different activities to
engage them in.
It is a public school
2nd grade level
They all speak English as their primary language
There are 15 students. 8 girls and 7 boys
3 students with slight ADHD
10 students are white and 5 students are African
American
3. MAIN OBJECTIVE
My children will achieve a basic learning of addition
and subtraction after watching a video, using flash
cards, using a calculator, playing games, reading
books and completing worksheets with 90%
accuracy.
4. DAY BY DAY BREAKDOWN
Monday- Introduce addition, work with a calculator,
read an addition book, play a game and practice
with flash cards
Tuesday- Introduce subtraction, play a hands on
game, read a subtraction book, work with a
calculator and practice with flash cards
Wednesday- Separate into groups and play “I
have, who has?” card game, watch a math video
and complete worksheets
Thursday- Combine addition and subtraction with
the use of a rolling dice game, practicing with flash
cards and learning odd and even numbers
Friday- Play “Beat you to the Board” game with
addition, subtraction, and odd/even numbers
