  11. 11. 1) Magento (the company) has lost it’s way
  12. 12. Just as an illustration, let’s see how the logo changed
  13. 13. „Be at the core of all e-commerce" „Enabling the worldwide e-commerce ecosystem"

  15. 15. just a suggestion….
  16. 16. Where is Magento going? • A clear business model makes companies predictable. You know why they act like they do and what logical next steps are. • eBay's plans for Magento are unclear 
 (at least from the outside). • This makes it unpredictable what eBay will do with Magento which creates unrest in the community. We simply don’t know what to expect. • This makes agencies and merchants increasingly hesitant in investing (time/money) in Magento. • Roy Rubin’s contract ends in September… Does he stay or continue?
  17. 17. 2) Enterprise only focus limits CE ánd EE growth
  18. 18. eBay’s main focus: sales of Enterprise product and services ! Which is ok!
  19. 19. By investing in Magento (as an Enterprise product) eBay creates opportunities for the whole ecosystem.
  20. 20. But…! ! …this also leaves a big gap to be filled
  21. 21. ! Magento Community! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Magento Enterprise! ! ! ! ! ! !

Some of the points we discussed… • We’re all heavily invested in Magento and feel it’s still the best platform out there (by far). • There are overarching tasks that a single partner can’t do, but a global company/alliance could. • We want/need more continuity/ stability/ safety/ independance.

  46. 46. What? Connect Merchants to (Solution/Industry) Partners and promote our tools/ services through the events
  47. 47. Just to be clear… First things people ask… • Are we aiming for a Magento fork? No • Are we against eBay? No (on the contrary)
