1. Mondays Assure
A- Twenty first graders, which includes, 10 Caucasian, 5 African Americans,
and 5 Asians with no learning specialties.
S- Students will be able to recognize the different coins and what they are worth
by the end of Monday with 100% accuracy.
S- Student will watch a Digital Storytelling Video to see all of the coins and
their values in a fun way. They will also use Secondlife to travel to a bank
virtually and a store where students can practice purchasing items.
U- Students will be able to view and hold the different coins. They will also be
able to create their own Secondlife avatar, which they will then explore
Secondlife and make purchases at a store and go on tours of a bank.
R- Students will practice naming the coins and will demonstrate their
knowledge by participating in a Secondlife activity, where they will purchase
items.
E- As this is only the first day of the unit, evaluation may be small, but will
ensure that the students are grasping the topic and the material covered each
day. Evaluation of day one will be based off of the students’ participation. They
should be able to know what each coin is and what it is worth in a show and tell
2. manner. For instance if I hold up a dime, the students should be able to tell me
that it is a dime and is worth ten cents.
