SKYCITY Starlight Symphony raises more than $50,000 for
Make-a-Wish
The weather cleared just in time for Saturday
night’s SKYCITY Starlight Symphony, with
around 90,000 people donating more than
$50,000 for our chosen charity, Make-A-Wish
New Zealand.
The evening was threatened by poor weather
on Friday and showers throughout the day on
Saturday, but this didn’t stop a huge crowd
turning up.
Picnickers were out in full force to watch
wonderful performances by top musical talents
from throughout Australasia.
Make-A-Wish New Zealand’s CEO, Scott
Simpson, says the money raised at this year’s
SKYCITY Starlight Symphony will go a long way
to help ensure Kiwi Kids with life-threatening
illnesses have their cherished wish granted.
“Everyone who contributed at the Symphony
can feel very proud that they have shared in
the power of a wish and ensured dreams will
come true for seriously ill children.” MCs Wendy Petrie and Mark Sainsbury with headline
act Brooke Fraser
