5. My media product uses many of the forms & conventions of real media products. Firstly I used the rule of three for my colour scheme. My three colours are red, white and black . I linked the red colour of the Masthead with the colour of the models jumper. I also linked the white colour of the Cover lines with the models top. Secondly I put my cover lines all in the left third -apart from the main cover line a the bottom- and put my main image in the middle and right third of the page. This is to guide the readers eye flow and attract their eye to the things I want them to look at. 1.
6. 2. My magazine represents 16-18 year olds in education. I think it includes a wide range of social groups but is only for students that have stayed on to sixth form and are interested in education. 3. The kind of media institution that would distribute my media product would be a mixed sixth form state school that is non-specialised. It would be published by students with the help of teacher. It would made by students for students. 4. My target market is 16-18 year old students attending sixth form with an interest in succeeding and going on to university. 5. I attracted my audience in many ways. First of all my Masthead is large and bold, so it stands out first to the audience. This means that the reader already knows the name of the magazine. Secondly the model image is large with bright colours so the reader is attracted to it. The reader can then see that the target audience is young people as the model is a teenager. Also, other things that attract the reader is the button in the bottom corner which is offering the chance to win a prize. This might make the reader want to buy the magazine to try and win the prize.
7. 6. There are many things I have learnt about the technologies employed in the process of constructing this project. The main technology I used to create the magazine cover was photoshop elements. Photoshop allowed me to create a realistic looking cover that includes everything a real magazine does One good tool i used on photoshop was the healer tool . this allowed me to improve my model image and make it look as flawless as possible. I also used the cloning tool to remove any unnecessary parts of the image such as text. The grid tool was also very useful as it meant that I could line all the aspects of the cover, making the layout neater and not distract the readers attention. Using blogger has also been very useful as any posts I have put up about techniques I can refer back to for help with my magazine cover. It also means I could get feedback on work and know about anything I need to improve.
