  1. 이 모델은 MgO conduction band 아래의 shallow trap level 에 trap 되어 있는 전자가 exo 전자 방출의 소스로 가정합니다 . 1 번 단계에서 trap 된 전자가 온도에 의해 여기되어 conduction band 로 이동합니다 . Conduction band 의 free electron 이 hole 과 recombination center 에서 결합하고 그때의 에너지가 photon 즉 빛 에너지로 방출되고 이 에너지가 trap level 의 전자를 밖으로 보내게 됩니다 . 이 과정을 exo electrion emission 의 auger mechanism 이라 하고 MgO 박막의 전류 흐름을 설명합니다 . 따라서 이러한 exo electron emission 은 온도의존성을 가지게 됩니다 . 이러한 온도 의존성을 줄여야만 PDP 패널의 온도가 올라 갈때 misfiring 과 no-firing 을 막을 수 있고 이 논문에서는 exo-electron 방출의 모델과 주요 변수에 대해서 연구하고 실험하였습니다 .

Trapping level 과 recombination center 가 오직 하나만 존재한다면 컨덕션 밴드의 전자 농도 변화는 다음과 같은 식을 가지게 됩니다 . 좌변이 시간에 따른 컨덕션 밴드의 전자 농도의 변화량이고 우변의 첫 번째 항은 온도에 의한 trap 에 있는 전자가 온도에 의해 conduction band 내로 이동하는 써멀 익사이테이션 비율이고 여기서 뉴는 디바이 프리퀀시로 고체내에서 특정 온도에 의한 원자의 최대 진동수를 의미하고 Et 는 전자의 trapping 에너지 레벨입니다 . 두 번째와 세 번째 항은 각각 retrap 과 recombination 되는 전자의 양으로 컨덕션 밴드에 존재하는 자유 전자 수를 줄이는 역할을 합니다 . Mgo 는 절연체이므로 컨덕션 밴드내의 전자 수가 거의 없기 때문에 컨덕션 밴드의 전자 변화량은 매우 작은 값을 가집니다 또한 벽전하 형성에서 리트랩 과정이 리컴비네이션 과정에 비해 훨씬 많이 일어나기 때문에 우변의 두번 째 항은 3 번째항 보다 훨씬 큰 값을 가지므로 식은 아래와 같이 간단히 되고 컨덕션 밴드내의 농도로 정리한 식이 마지막 식입니다 .
  3. 이러한 조건에서 트랩 레벨의 전자 수는 리컴비네이션에 의해 감소하므로 첫 번째 식과 같고 여기서 컨덕션밴드의 농도를 이전 슬라이드에서 표현한 식으로 바꾸면 트랩 레벨의 시간에 따른 전자 변화량은 m 과 n 에 관한 미분 방정식으로 표현됩니다 . 이 때 정공과 전자의 벽전하량은 같기 때문에 m 과 n 은 같은 값을 가지고 트랩레벨의 전자 수용량이 전자 농도 보다 훨씬 크기 때문에 식을 정리하면 n 에 관한 비선형 미분방정식이고 이 미분 방정식은 초기값을 n0 라 두면 해는 세번째식과 같이 트랩레벨의 전자수는 시간에 따른 함수 형태로 표현됩니다 . 이 식이 의미하는 바는 트랩레벨에 n0 만큼의 전자 다시 말해서 벽전하가 존재한다면 시간에 의해서 점점 감소하고 이 감소한 전자 중 일부가 리컴비네이션 과정에서 발생한 에너지를 얻어 밖으로 나가는 exo-electron 을 의미합니다 . 따라서 익소 일렉트론에 의한 전류는 4 번째 식과 같이 표현 되며 여기서 k3 는 트랩레벨에서 여기되어 나가는 전자 변화량중 익소일렉트론의 양을 결정해주는 값을 포함하고 있습니다 .
  4. 앞에서 구한 식을 이용해 변수값을 표와 같이 잡고 시간에 따른 익소 일렉트론 커런트를 살펴보면 시간에 따라 감소하긴 하지만 방출의 초기 단계인 10 의 -3 승 초 까지는 같은 차수의 크기가 유지 됨을 알 수 있습니다 . 또한 트랩 일렉트론 양이 줄어 들 때 방출 전류의 양은 약 2 차수나 3 차수로 줄어드는 것을 알 수 있습니다 . 초기 단계에서는 온도가 높을 수록 트랩 일렉트론의 서멀 익사이테이션이 빠르게 일어나 방출 전류량은 큰 값을 가지고 나중에 단계에서는 형성된 트랩전자가 빠져 나갔기 때문에 전자의 감소폭이 커짐을 확인 할 수 있습니다 . 이를 실험 값인 (b) 와 비교해 본다면 어느 정도 성립함을 확인 할 수 잇습니다
  5. 모델링 한 식을 이용해 온도에 대한 의존성을 낮추게 설계하는 것이 가능 하다고 할 수 있습니다 . 따라서 온도에 의존하는 K2 식을 살펴 보면 am 과 an 은 온도에 관한 일차식이고 그리고 et 는 익스포넨셜 함수의 지수 역할을 하므로 주로 트랩 레벨 에너지에 영향을 받는다고 할 수 있습니다 . 만약 et 값을 0.01eV 로 잡게 되면 세번째 그래프와 같이 온도의존성을 무시 할 수 있게 됩니다 . 그러나 et 가 0.4ev 일 때 보다 전류가 시간에 따라 매우 급격히 감소한다는 것을 확인 할 수 있습니다 . 이는 Et 가 줄면 작은 열에너지 만으로 여기 되고 따라서 온도의존성은 줄어들지만 빠르게 여기되므로 디케이 타임은 줄어들게 된다는 것을 알 수 있습니다 . 따라서 시간에 따른 익소 일렉트론 커런트 의존성을 고려하기 위해 식을 살펴보면 t 앞의 계수인 케이투와 엔 제로에 의해 결정이 됩니다 . 아래의 그래프는 위의 그래프에서 k2 값을 1000 분의 1 로 줄였을 때의 그래프로 디케이 타임이 증가 했다는 것을 알 수 있습니다 . 이러한 k2 값은 트랩밀도인 n 값을 증가시키면 감소하게 됩니다 .
  6. mgo 증착을 첫번째 그래프는 트랩 에너지 레벨이 0.3ev 이 되도록 이고 두번째 그래프는 트랩에너지 레벨이 0.07ev 가 되도록 하였습니다 . 첫번째의 디퍼 도너 레벨은 패널의 온도가 올라갈 수록 더 많은 전류 량을 가짐을 알 수 있습니다 . 측정 시간 동안의 변화를 각각 살펴보면 디퍼 도너 레벨의 경우 전류량은 십분의 일 정도 감소했고 살로우 도너 레벨의 경우 온도 의존성은 감소했지만 전류량은 100 분의 일 정도로 급격히 떨어지는 것을 확인할 수 있습니다 . 이 실험을 통해 이론적 모델이 설명하고 있는 샬로우 도너 레벨에서 온도 의존성이 줄고 시간 의존성이 증가한다는 것을 확인 할 수 있습니다 .
  7. 첫 번째 그림은 제논 콘텐츠에 따른 아이알 인텐시티 값으로 제논이 증가할 수록 823 감소하고 828 은 증가 함을 알 수 있습니다 . 50 퍼센트 제논에서는 거의 823 과 828 은 거의 같은 값을 가짐을 알 수 있습니다 . 또한 네온이 방출하는 703 은 점점 감소하여 높은 제논 비율에서는 거의 사라짐을 확인 할 수 있습니다 . 두 번째 그래프는 제논 비율과 전압 증가에 따른 루미넌스 값으로 최소 유지 전압은 제논의 비율이 작을 수록 낮아지고 루미넌스값도 낮아지는 것을 확인 할 수 있습니다 . 다시 말해 분압이 20 에서 50 으로 증가 함에 따라 루미넌스는 거의 두 배 이상 증가 하게 됩니다 . 그래프를 보시면 190v 에서 전압에 선형적으로 증가하는 루미넌스가 선형적으로 증가하지 못하는데 이는 형광체가 포화되기 때문입니다 .
  8. 공급한 전력에 대한 루미넌스 비율을 나타내는 릴래티브 에피카시 그래프를 살펴보면 패널의 에피카시가 제논의 분압이 증가함에 따라 증가 함을 확인 할 수 있고 전압이 증가 함에 따라 급격히 감소함을 확인 할 수 있습니다 . 다음 그림은 아이알 라이트 인텐시티로 700 나노미터에서 900 나노미터까지 의 아이알을 더한값을 나타냅니다 . 전체 아이알 값은 전압이 증가함에 따라 증가하고 제논 분압이 증가할 때 감소하는 것을 확인 할 수 있습니다 .
  9. 첫 번째 그래프는 아이알에 대한 visible light 비로써 제논 익사이테이션 효율을 나타냅니다 . 즉 다시 말해 다이머가 아닌 직접적인 여기종을 얼마나 생성하는 지의 비율을 나타내고 따라서 가시광을 방출하는 효율이라 볼 수 있습니다 . 그래프를 통해 제논의 여기 효율은 구동전압에 독립적이고 제논 분압이 증가할 수록 효율이 증가함을 알 수 있습니다 . 두 번째는 앞의 패널 에피커시를 제논 익사이테이션으로 나눈 값이고 일렉트론 히팅 에피션시를 나타냅니다 . 일렉트론 히팅 에피션시가 증가하게되면 플라즈마내의 시드 수가 많아지므로 낮은 전압에서 구동이 가능하고 전력소비도 줄어들게 됩니다 . 제논 분압이 높아질수록 히팅 에피션시는 낮아지게 됩니다 . 그래프를 살펴보면 190 볼트 근처에서 제논 분압에 독립적이 되고 하이 제논 레벨에서는 전압이 인가될수록 일렉트론 히팅 에피션시가 급격히 감소함을 파악할 수 있습니다 .
