2. Procedures I have three Freshman English Courses at the same level. During the first grading period, my first block had the highest overall average with a 80. My second block had a 78, and my fourth block, end of the day, had 67 average. Our group decided to research and test the idea of brain breaks. Our theory, based on research, was that brain breaks would increase comprehension. Each of my blocks last ninety minutes. I gave a long powerpoint presentation with a quiz at the end of the block. I would not give my first block a brain break during the class. I gave my second block one break, and fourth block two breaks.
3. Results My first block had an average of 65. My second block had an average of 78. My first block had an average of 85. Observations: Even though students were hesitant to join in and I didn’t go into as much detail with notes, the two periods with brain breaks scored higher on a thirteen question quiz.
