The Science Behind It:
A tornado is a spinning column of air that descends from a cloud.
Strong storms called “ Super Cells” can cause a tornado. The
tornado is made when hot air and cold air meet. They crash into
each other and try to rotate and begin spinning around each
other. This makes a tornado. The tornado can wreck buildings and
lift up trucks. When tornadoes are approaching, the warning may
come from the TV, a siren, or the radio. The safest place when a
tornado comes is the cellar (basement) or a storm shelter. A Fujita
scale is used to measuretornadoes.
