Length Investigation

 Aim:
 To investigate the relationship between a total finger length and arm
 length.

 Hypothesis:
 I predict that arm length is longer than finger length.

 Materials:

        paper
        20 people
        pencils
        clipboard
        measuring tape

 Method:

 1.Make a table with 8 columns and 19 rows.
 2. Write names on the left column of the graph.
 3. Write finger 1to5,total finger and arm in the other columns.
 4. Write all the names of the volunteers.
 5. Measure finger and arm length with a measuring tape.
 6. Record finger and arm length in the table.

 0/18 peoples finger were equal to the arm length

 Conclusion:
 My hypothesis were correct. Arm length is longer than finger length.

 Discussion:
 The results were made by measuring the person`s fingers lengths and
 comparing with an arm length and seeing if it is the same. In 9~11 year
 olds, the average finger length is 30cm arm average is 57cm which
 makes the arm length 27cm longer than finger length.

 It may be slightly incorrect because we didn`t have enough time to
 check twice and we may have made small measuring errors.

 Next time I would like to find the relationship between leg length and
 height.

Arm length is longer than finger length. Discussion: The results were made by measuring the person`s fingers lengths and comparing with an arm length and seeing if it is the same. In 9~11 year olds, the average finger length is 30cm arm average is 57cm which makes the arm length 27cm longer than finger length. It may be slightly incorrect because we didn`t have enough time to check twice and we may have made small measuring errors. Next time I would like to find the relationship between leg length and height.
