3. I have chosen to analyse the ‘Love Island’ website home page because this is a popular TV drama which I have previously
watched and it has a very similar target audience to the breif I have been given for my own tv drama. Therefore, I can gage an
idea of what I should be including in the different pages and how to attract the audience to the show and use brand identity,
digital convergence and synergy throughout.
Brand identity:
The ‘Love Island’ website home page has developed a sense of branding across their products through using their logo
throughout their website as it clearly shows the logo, beach background and the sponsorship at the top of each of the pages.
Love Island on ITV2 is sponsored by Uber Eats, which is presented on each of the pages, showing convergence. Uber eats targets
similar customers to the love island audience therefore, this works in each of their favours.
Digital convergence and synergy:
They attempt to engage their intended audience through interactive elements such as the ‘episodes’, ‘videos’ and ‘islanders’
pages on their website. The audience can watch the show on ITVhub, watch clips of the show and read up about the news from
the show. In addition, the audience can follow ‘Love Island’ on Instagram so they can be up to date with the latest information on
the show. In addition, the website is trying to serve a commercial function though increasing opportunities for promotion. They
do this by promoting their show across social media. There is many different pages on the home page, including the shop page,
where merchandise such as personalised bottles, suitcases, phone cases and makeup bags are sold, creating synergy. There is
also opportunities for the audience to be interactive through the game page on the website, which uses a link to direct you to
the Love Island Game.

7. I have chosen to analyse ‘The Missing’ website home page on BBC because this is a crime drama which I have
previously enjoyed watching and it has a target audience similar to the brief which I have been given. Although
this show is not before the watershed, the webpage it comes with can give me inspiration for my own TV drama
webpage.
Brand identity:
The ‘The Missing’ website home page has developed a sense of branding across their products through using
their logo throughout their website as it clearly shows the recognisable logo on the home page. The logo is a
sans-serif typography and is in a white capitalised font, which appears to be slightly blurred, connoting mystery,
representing the genre of the show. The logo is used on every page of the website. Furthermore, the media
language used communicates their brand in a number of ways such as using a hero image at the top of the home
page to make the show memorable to the audience.
Digital convergence and synergy:
They attempt to engage their intended audience through interactive elements such as the ‘episodes’, ‘clips’ and
