13. Why did the American family featured, avoid
products that were made in China for a year?
•The American family stopped buying products made in
China for one year to see how Chinese products have
penetrated the American market.
What was the result of the experiment?
•There were some products which they found it hard to
replace such as their coffee maker as most of the coffee
makers were from China. US made products were also
much more expensive when compared to ‘Made in
China’ products.
14. How has exporting to America impacted the lives
of Chinese workers?
•It has improved the lives of Chinese workers as they now
enjoy higher wages and so can now enjoy a higher standard
of living.
What does the video illustrate about the
economies of countries?
•The economies of countries are very much interconnected
and interdependent. Businesses in China producing the
products sold in the USA benefit from a larger market share
and probably larger amount of profit.
