2. SCIENCE LABORATORY IS A FACILITY THAT PROVIDES
CONTROLLED CONDITIONS IN WHICH SCIENTIFIC OR
TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH , EXPERIMENTS AND
MEASUREMENTS MAY BE PERFORMED.
IT IS A SPECIAL FACILITY WHERE EXPERIMENTS ARE DONE AND
TYPICALLY CONTAINS EQUIPMENT , BEAKERS , BURNERS AND
OTHER TOOLS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE EXPERIMENTS.
4. THE PLANNING AND CONSTRUCTION OF SCIENCE
LABORATORIES
SHOULD AIM AT DRAWING OUT THE BEST EDUCATIONAL
PURPOSES. THE FOLLOWING FACTORS SHOULD BE
CONSIDERED
AT PLANNING STAGE OF LABORATORIES –
THE NUMBER OF PUPILS WORKING AT A TIME.
THE MINIMUM SPACE NECESSARY FOR EACH PUPIL FOR
COMFORTABLE WORKING.

7. ALL PURPOSE LABORATORY:
THIS TYPE OF LABORATORY SERVES THE PURPOSE OF BOTH
PRACTICAL AS
WELL AS THEORETICAL WORK. THE USUAL DIMENSION FOR
STUDENTS
NUMBERING 40 IS 45*25. THE ARRANGEMENT HAS A STORAGE
CUM
PREPARATION ROOM TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENTLY OF WORKING
AND
PRESERVING OF APPARATUS. THE SIDE BENCHES MAY BE
PROVIDED
WITH SINKS, WATER AND GAS CONNECTION. THE WHOLE ROOM
SHOULD
HAVE ALMIRAHS FITTED FOR STORAGE.

EVERY BOTTLE AND JAR SHOULD BE NUMBERED SO THAT
ANY
SUBSTANCE CAN BE LOCATED EASILY.
