1. SYLLABUS “BASIC ENGLISH”
ABSTRACT
We are going to develop this module in order to use the English language
through exercises to practice, interchange personal information and describe daily
routines, it’s also ask and answer questions about different events and give
suggestions to express ideas about different topics.
METODOLOGY
This course we are going to work with active technologies that enable the
development of basic concepts in learning a foreign language such as listening,
writing, reading and speaking to help students to develop in their career
successfully using English to communicate with tourists visiting our country.
FORMATIVE ROUTE
GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
To use high interest topics to integrate speaking, grammar, vocabulary,
pronunciation, listening, reading and writing in order to get meaningful
communication
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
• Prepare menus for restaurants in English to help improve the provision of
food and beverage service.
• Using the English language to communicate with tourists in an efficient and
appropriate way.
• Listen for detailed meaning, and to identify the attitudes and the opinions of
the speaker.
• Build oral fluency to achieve meaningful communication.
• Read short texts to get the main message.
• To create role plays in order to use language in specific context.
• Write clear and detailed descriptions about a wide variety of topics related to
their areas of study.
• To produce oral or written messages using English to communicate ideas,
give and get information about cultural identity and other countries using the
linguistic elements appropriately keeping coherence and cohesion.

Competence elements to be developed in the course:
Understand the basic structures of the language used in the description
1 of these topics: meeting people , greetings, names, countries,
nationalities, jobs, workplaces, school, schedules and clock time.
Analyze the form, meaning and use of English structures to talk about
2 shopping, prices, clothing, personal items, colors, materials music,
movies, TV programs; entertainers, invitations, excuses, daily routines
and clock time.
Practice English to share information and opinions about different topics
3 such as: introductions and greetings, jobs workplaces and school,
families and family life, sports, fitness activities, exercises and routines.
Produce oral and written messages using well structured sentences and
4 paragraphs, to discuss topics related to free time, weekend activities,
chores, vacations, places of a city, neighborhoods, houses, apartments
appearance and dress, clothing, clothing styles and people.
Develop the communicative competences to exchange information to talk
5 or write about past events.
