Bondick now devotes energy to assisting nonprofit agencies.
Gigi Bondick is a supporter of Heading Home of Boston, an
organization that connects homeless people to permanent
housing and job opportunities.
Heading Home is one of the few agencies of its type that
serves both individuals and families. In fiscal year 2022, the
organization helped move 243 households (nearly all of them
led by single mothers) into permanent living spaces. More
than 90 percent of these households have remained in place
for longer than a year, a goal Heading Home has achieved
for 17 consecutive years.
The organization does more than simply put a roof over their
clients’ heads. Heading Home offers a holistic range of
services, including employment counseling, agency-matched

3. savings accounts, life skills development, and connections to
daycare and transportation.
Three types of housing are available. Congregate shelter
place seven to nine families in a round-the-clock staffed
facility in which they share kitchen, living, and bathroom
spaces. This arrangement also applies to co-shared
apartments with two families each. Finally, single families can
live in independently rented units.
