Builders Club is not an exclusive society and you
need not attend meetings. It is a group of people
who make an initial contribution and pledge to
donate a like amount for the next house each
time one is completed in Kittitas County. Five
hundred people giving at least $25 will provide
funds to pour the foundation and raise the frame
of the next Habitat home. One more family can
move into decent housing and we can begin
building for the next family in need.
One of the beautiful things about the Habitat plan
is that each house holds the seed for the next. The
payments made by each partner homeowner are
accumulated to buy the materials for more
Habitat homes. The process is about as near to
perpetual motion as you’re ever likely to see! We
call this part “moving in…moving on” and it also
ensures that each dollar you contribute will
grow into an ongoing ripple of care for families
in need.
Please consider becoming a
member of the Builder’s Club. Our
present goal is to build at least two
houses per year and your
commitment will help make that
possible. Furthermore, if you are
interested in volunteering your
services, please call 509-962-5058.
Your pen is a powerful tool! Pick
up the response slip in this flyer,
fill it out, and mail it today.
The good you do will last a
long, long time…

You hold the key to making Habitat’s vision for
Kittitas County a reality
A century ago we would have called it a
barn raising. When a neighbor had a need
of help--maybe there had been a fire, a
windstorm or other tragedy--the whole
community would pitch in with labor,
lumber and nails. Today’s tragedies may
come in other shapes: illness, broken
families, lack of jobs or proper job
training. The result is that people are
often housed in a way that perpetuates the
cycle of poverty and hopelessness.
People Helping People
We’ve completed 10 houses in
Kittitas County and we’re just
getting started…
 A nondenominational
Christian organization
We are dedicated to the proposition that
all people deserve a decent house in a
decent community. To accomplish this
goal, we invite people of all backgrounds,
races and religions to build houses
together in partnership with families in
need.
 People caring for people
We do it in a practical efficient way. It is
an autonomous organization supported
by local residents who want to tackle the
problem of substandard housing in our
community. Almost all the work done on
Habitat homes is done by volunteers, no
experience necessary! The houses are
simple and sturdy. There is no waste in
building or unnecessary maintenance for
the homeowner.
 A hand up, not a handout
Today’s barn raising might look different
but the spirit is the same. A group of local
people, sharing concern for a neighbor in
need, willingly makes a small contribution
that adds up to a practical solution. That
spirit is the driving force behind Habitat
for Humanity, and it’s at work right here
in Kittitas County. It is heartwarming
work and you can be a part of it by joining
the Builder’s Club.
