PROFILE
An experienced engineer and project manager, currently leading a team of engineers delivering
transformational projects across the University of Warwick Estate. A successful record of delivering well
designed projects on time and within financial targets. Extensive experience in managing multidisciplinary
project delivery teams with particular focus on energy and infrastructure projects, new construction
projects and major building refurbishments.
A strategy of achieving project objectives, with a client focussed approach is actively developed, ensuring
that successful project outcomes are achieved. These attributes are coupled with excellent commercial
acumen, gained during previous management role within a ‘blue chip’ multi-national company, ensuring a

I have attained an MSc in ‘Renewable Energy and the Built Environment’ and am a registered Chartered

CAREER SUMMARY
Below is a brief summary of my career achievements to date;
Management Experience;
During a 10-year career in the private sector, with major blue-chip company, I enjoyed many successes,
which culminated in achieving a senior managerial position, responsible for 70No.staff, with an annual
turnover of £3m (1987).
With 20 years of experience within the construction industry, I have enjoyed success in managing a team of
building services engineers, managing multi-disciplinary construction teams, and leading these teams to
deliver successful projects. These include the first building at the university to achieve a BREEAM Excellent
rating. Other projects have received national recognition and have been short-listed for both energy and
sustainability awards.
I have extensive experience in procurement, framework contracts, financial regulations, contract selection,
risk management, health and safety, contract administration, and developing multiple projects from initial
feasibility stage through to completion.
Project Management;
During my career I have placed a strong emphasis on building design, whether for new construction
projects or major refurbishments. Key to success has been prudent financial control, and managing client
expectation to ensure the scope of works deliver exemplar performance, whilst ensuring that projects can
be delivered on programme and within budget.
My management style involves providing clear and confident leadership of internal and external
stakeholders, to ensure that teams move forward with clearly defined responsibilities. Targets are set for
individuals and teams, with progress systematically reviewed and reported upon. Successes are
acknowledged.
Particular specialisms are in building services design, energy efficiency and project management, including
the design of sustainable buildings, passive building design, sustainable construction and energy efficient
technologies. Recent experience has included managing a portfolio in excess of £40m of during the past
three years.
