In this project the group members will play with daily rainfall data collected in Gulf coast (535stations in total) from 1949 to 2017. The purposes of this exercise are to: 1) to give students an idea of a typical example of a climate data set (spatio-temporal data) and someassociated scientific questions (e.g. how rainfall extremes vary in space and time and how that mightbe affected by other things like greenhouse gases or temperatures). 2) to get students familiar with data analysis using R including data manipulation, data visualization, and data summary. 3) to introduce some statistical methods (e.g. time series analysis, spatial statistics, extreme value analysis) to analyze this kind of data to "answer" (perform statistical inference) the questions of interest. Group members: Lin Ge, Jianan Jang, Jessica Robinson, Erin Song, Seth Temple, Adam Wu

The advancement in renewable energy sector being the focus of research these days, a novel neuro evolutionary technique is proposed for modeling wind power forecasters. The work uses the robust technique of Cartesian Genetic Programming to evolve ANN for development of forecasting models. These Models predicts power generation of a wind based power plant from a single hour up to a year - taking a big lead over other proposed models by reducing its MAPE to minimum values for a single day hourly prediction. Results when compared with other models in the literature demonstrated that the proposed models are among the best estimators of wind based power generation plants proposed to date.

It is of interest to explore the spatial correlation between traffic collisions and other types of available data, for example demographic and economic information, land-use, license premises and weather. To effectively prepare the data for further analysis, the City of Edmonton Office of Traffic Safety used a series of extract-transform and load (ETL) tools provided by FME. This presentation will introduce three key ETL processes performed with FME: 1) manipulate roadway GIS data for network-based spatial analysis; 2) build spatial connection between various sources of data; 3) effectively prepare the proper format of spatial data to establish advanced spatial statistics.

Data aggregation in important issue in WSN’s. Because with the help of data aggregation; we are reduce energy consumption in the network. In the Ad-hoc sensor network have the most challenging task is to maintain a life time of the node. due to efficient data aggregation increase the life of the network. In this paper, we are going to provide the information about the type of the network and which data aggregation algorithm is best. In big scale sensor network, energy economical, data collection and query distribution in most important. Keywords — data aggregation; wireless sensor network

A multidisciplinary research area such as wireless sensor networks (WSN) have been invoked the monitoring of remote physical environment and are used for a wide range of applications ranging from defense personnel to many scientific research, statistical application, disaster area and War Zone. These networks are constraint with energy, memory and computing power enhance efficient techniques are needed for data aggregation, data collection, query processing, decision making and routing in sensor networks. The problem encountered in the recent past was of the more battery power consumption as activity increases, need more efficient data aggregation and collection techniques with right decision making capabilities. Therefore, this paper proposed the efficient and effective architecture and mechanism of energy efficient techniques for data aggregation and collection in WSN using principles like global weight calculation of nodes, data collection for cluster head and data aggregation techniques using data cube aggregation.

Our planet is abundant with raw data and to monitor the available data properly, processing of the enormous raw data is very vital. One of the key things in development of mankind and the nature is to acquire as much data as possible and to react appropriately in accordance with the studied data. It’s nothing but diagnosis of the physical world by studying the data acquired from them in order to take proper measures that can help in treating them better. Large volume of data incurs high energy consumption for its transmission and thus results in decrease of overall network lifetime. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a collection of multiple sensor nodes that all together forms a network for transmitting data acquired by each sensor node to sink known as Base Station (BS). In hierarchical routing acquired data are sent via relay agents like Cluster Heads (CH). The Cluster Heads must be customised with computations and formulations, which will help in aggregating the gathered data, in order to reduce energy consumption while transmitting the data further in the network while maintaining the data integrity to withhold the significance of every single value in a data set.

Wireless Sensor Networks have gained wide popularity in the recent years for its high-ranking applications such as remote environment monitoring, target tracking, safety-critical monitoring etc. However Wireless Sensor Networks face many constraints like low computational power, small storage, and limited energy resources. One of the important issues in wireless sensor network is to increase the network lifetime to keep the network operational as long as possible. In this survey paper, we provide a comprehensive review of the existing literature on techniques and protocols for data aggregation to reduce communication cost and increase network lifetime in wireless sensor networks.

During the first year of the H2020 project streamSAVE, multiple activities were organized to support countries in developing savings estimations under Art.3 and Art.7 of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED). A fascinating output of the project so far is the “Guidance on Standardized saving methodologies (energy, CO2 and costs)” for a first round of five so-called Priority Actions. This Guidance will assist EU member states in more accurately calculating savings for a set of new energy efficiency actions. This webinar presents this Guidance and other project findings to the broader community, including industry and markets. AGENDA 14:00 Introduction to streamSAVE (Nele Renders, Project Coordinator) 14:10 Views from the EU Commission and the link with Fit-for-55 (Anne-Katherina Weidenbach, DG ENER) 14:20 The streamSAVE guidance and its platform illustrated (Elisabeth Böck, AEA) 14:55 A view from industry: What is the added value of streamSAVE (standardized) methods in frame of the EED (Conor Molloy, AEMS ECOfleet) 14:55 Country experiences: the added value of standardized methods (Elena Allegrini, ENEA, Italy) The recordings of the webinar can be found on https://youtu.be/eUht10cUK1o

Tracing the root cause of a performance issue requires a lot of patience, experience, and focus. It’s so hard that we sometimes attempt to guess by trying out tentative fixes, but that usually results in frustration, messy code, and a considerable waste of time and money. This talk explains how to correctly zoom in on a performance bottleneck using three levels of profiling: distributed tracing, metrics, and method profiling. After we learn to read the JVM profiler output as a flame graph, we explore a series of bottlenecks typical for backend systems, like connection/thread pool starvation, invisible aspects, blocking code, hot CPU methods, lock contention, and Virtual Thread pinning, and we learn to trace them even if they occur in library code you are not familiar with. Attend this talk and prepare for the performance issues that will eventually hit any successful system. About authorWith two decades of experience, Victor is a Java Champion working as a trainer for top companies in Europe. Five thousands developers in 120 companies attended his workshops, so he gets to debate every week the challenges that various projects struggle with. In return, Victor summarizes key points from these workshops in conference talks and online meetups for the European Software Crafters, the world’s largest developer community around architecture, refactoring, and testing. Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/why-teams-call-analytics-is-critical-to-your-entire-business Nothing is as frustrating and noticeable as being in an important call and being unable to see or hear the other person. Not surprising then, that issues with Teams calls are among the most common problems users call their helpdesk for. Having in depth insight into everything relevant going on at the user’s device, local network, ISP and Microsoft itself during the call is crucial for good Microsoft Teams Call quality support. To ensure a quick and adequate solution and to ensure your users get the most out of their Microsoft 365. But did you know that ‘bad calls’ are also an excellent indicator of other problems arising? Precisely because it is so noticeable!? Like the canary in the mine, bad calls can be early indicators of problems. Problems that might otherwise not have been noticed for a while but can have a big impact on productivity and satisfaction. Join this session by Christoph Adler to learn how true Microsoft Teams call quality analytics helped other organizations troubleshoot bad calls and identify and fix problems that impacted Teams calls or the use of Microsoft365 in general. See what it can do to keep your users happy and productive! In this session we will cover - Why CQD data alone is not enough to troubleshoot call problems - The importance of attributing call problems to the right call participant - What call quality analytics can do to help you quickly find, fix-, and prevent problems - Why having retrospective detailed insights matters - Real life examples of how others have used Microsoft Teams call quality monitoring to problem shoot problems with their ISP, network, device health and more.

Explore how multimodal embeddings work with Milvus. We will see how you can explore a popular multimodal model - CLIP - on a popular dataset - CIFAR 10. You use CLIP to create the embeddings of the input data, Milvus to store the embeddings of the multimodal data (sometimes termed “multimodal embeddings”), and we will then explore the embeddings.

The microservices honeymoon is over. When starting a new project or revamping a legacy monolith, teams started looking for alternatives to microservices. The Modular Monolith, or 'Modulith', is an architecture that reaps the benefits of (vertical) functional decoupling without the high costs associated with separate deployments. This talk will delve into the advantages and challenges of this progressive architecture, beginning with exploring the concept of a 'module', its internal structure, public API, and inter-module communication patterns. Supported by spring-modulith, the talk provides practical guidance on addressing the main challenges of a Modultith Architecture: finding and guarding module boundaries, data decoupling, and integration module-testing. You should not miss this talk if you are a software architect or tech lead seeking practical, scalable solutions.
