This document summarizes an e-learning project called E-EMPORIO that aims to develop the exporting skills of small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) staff and unemployed individuals looking to start an SME or improve their professional skills. The project will provide e-learning courses on topics like e-trade, payments, negotiations, contracts, and export market research. These courses will be accessible online from any device and are intended to help SME staff and unemployed individuals target foreign markets and increase their exporting abilities. The partnership conducting the project includes organizations from Southern and Eastern Europe focused on SME training and support.

- 2. theproject: SMEsconstitutethebasisoftheEuropeanEconomyandaccording to the SMEsperformancereview published by the European Commissionin2012SMEsconstitute98% ofthetotalnumberof Europeancompanies.TheincreaseofSMEs’exportingactivityis consideredoneofthemainwaysforEuropetogetoutofthe nancialcrisis.ThereforeE-EMPORIO aimstocontributetothe developmentoftheexportskillsofstaff workinginSMEs,by prprovidingthem withcomplete,qualitative,results-orientedand practice-orientede-learningcontents,accessiblethroughinternet from anyplace,atanytime.Someofthee-learningcontentsand trainingmethodologywillbetransferredfromapreviousLeonardo project,calledtext-e-"TrainingofExportTrainersviaeLearning-an Innovative Approach" (LLP-LdV-TOI-2007-TR-026), which was completedin2009.Thisprojecthascreatedinnovativee-learning ccontentson thefollowing topics:E-trade,Paymentmethods NegotiationsandcontractsandExportmarketresearch.These e-learningmodulesaregoingtobeupdatedaccordingtothe developmentsofthelastyearsandadaptedtothespecicitiesof eachnationalcontext.Theyarealsogoingtobetransferredina moremoderne-learningplatformandadaptedinordertobeableto beusedalsothroughtheuseofmobiledevices. Themaintargetgroupconsistsof: •SMEs'staff(particularlypersonsworkinginmarketingandsales departments,butalsofromotherdepartments); •UnemployedwillingtosetupanSMEorimprovetheirprofessional skillsinorderto ndajob. MMorespecically,theprojectistargetingthosemembersofSMEs andthoseunemployedwillingtoestablishanSMEthatarewillingto targetforeignmarketsandarewillingtomakeexports.
- 3. targetgroups& objectives: Thegeneralobjectivesoftheprojectare: •To contribute toan increase in SMEs competitiveness at internationallevelbyusinginnovativetechnologies; •ToincreaseforeigntradecapacitiesofSMEs'staff; ••To minimize training gaps in exports identied in partner countries; •Togeneratedialogueamongthetrainersfrom partnercountries andpromotetheaccreditationofskillsacquiredthroughnon-for- malandinformallearning. Thespecicobjectivesoftheprojectinclude: •Todeveloppractice-orientedandcompetencebasede-learning contents,especiallydevelopedinordertoincreasetheskillsof SMEs'staffinexports,takingintoconsiderationthespecicitiesof eachpartnercountry; •To transferthese e-learning coursesalso to mobile devices applications; ••Toprovidecerticationfortheskillsandcompetenciesthatare goingtobeobtainedthroughthee-learningplatform; •Totransferbestpracticesandexpertisebetweenpartners; •Toconsidertheneedsofspecictargetgroupssuchasolder workers(orunemployed)wishingtoimprovetheirskills.
- 4. partnership& outcomes: ThepartnershipofE-EMPORIOisconstitutedfrom organizations fromtheSouthernEurope(GR,CY,ES)andfromtheEasternEurope (RO,LV,TR).Thecompositionofthetransnationalpartnershipis determinedbytheselectionofkeyactorsintheproject'sarea (1 SMEs’Association,2Chambers ofCommerce,1 SME in managementconsulting,2SMEsininnovation,developmentand ICTtrainingand1organizationinthe eldofe-learningandEU prprojects)withgreatexperienceandexpertiseinthe eldofSMEs’ training,thusfacilitatingthemainstreamingofprojectresultsand thesustainabilityofoutputs. Themajoroutcomesoftheprojectare: Deskand eldresearchonthetrainingneedsofSMEs;e-learning platform;innovative E-Learning Modules;e-learning courses; trainingoftrainersetc.Theproject'sproductsaregoingtoincrease theskillsofthestaffoftheSMEsoroftheunemployedwantingto establishanSMEinexportingactivities.Thiswillcreatemore con denceforthisstafftodirectthemselvestowardstheforeign marketsandcouldcontributetotheincreaseoftheexporting acactivities.Thefactthatthetrainingisgoingtobeorganizedthrough e-learning,willprovideanaddedvaluebecauseitwillincreasethe reachofexporttrainingtoSMEsthatarenoteasilyreachablefroma geographicalpointofviewandwillalsoprovidethe exibilitythatis somuchneededfromthetargetgroup.
