Preface
In this section the teacher states his/her philosophy and vision of teaching and
academic lifetime.
I personally see teaching as a social and cognitive process where the stakeholders exert
their utmost efforts to achieve some specific goals. Language teaching and learning is no
longer seen as the rules and linguistic codes to be mastered, as it used to be. It should
rather take into consideration socio cultural and pragmatic context. Thus, the learners
are encouraged to use the language they have learned in their classroom in various and
authentic real life situations that the learner are likely to be encountered. So, in my view
knowing why and to whom language is taught is extremely important because this helps
the teachers to direct their attention to the needs and wants of the learners.
I believe that as much as possible future teachers should be in control and responsible
for what they learn. Furthermore, I believe their accepting responsibility for learning
does not occur in a vacuum. It also involves those with whom they work. I develop a
sense of community in my classes. As members of that community, students are
responsible not only to themselves, but to the other members of the community,
including me.

I personally see teaching as a social and cognitive process where the stakeholders exert their utmost efforts to achieve some specific goals. Language teaching and learning is no longer seen as the rules and linguistic codes to be mastered, as it used to be. It should rather take into consideration socio cultural and pragmatic context. Thus, the learners are encouraged to use the language they have learned in their classroom in various and authentic real life situations that the learner are likely to be encountered. So, in my view knowing why and to whom language is taught is extremely important because this helps the teachers to direct their attention to the needs and wants of the learners. I believe that as much as possible future teachers should be in control and responsible for what they learn. Furthermore, I believe their accepting responsibility for learning does not occur in a vacuum. It also involves those with whom they work. I develop a sense of community in my classes. As members of that community, students are responsible not only to themselves, but to the other members of the community, including me.
