Promotion stands for the various activities the company undertakes to
communicate its product’s merits and to persuade target customer to buy them.
Marketing promotion has five tools:
1) Advertising
2) Personal Selling
3) Sales Promotion
4) Public Relation
5) Direct Marketing.
1) Advertising: Advertising is a paid form of nonpersonal communication about an
organization, its products or its activities that is transmitted through a mass
medium to a target audience.
2) Personal Selling: Personal selling is the personal presentation by the firm’s
sales power for the purpose of making sales and building customer relationships.
3) Sales Promotion: Sales promotion is the short-term incentives to encourage
the purchase or sale of a product or service.
4) Public Relation: A public relations is a management tool designed to favorably
influence attitudes toward an organization, its products and its policies.
5)Direct Marketing: Direct Marketing consists of direct communications with
carefully targeted individual consumers to obtain an immediate response and
cultivate lasting customer relationships.
